    Middle East Tensions Exploding

Weather you agree or disagree with him, this is what the media is there for expressing differing points of veiw, not stopping them like Fox News does. http://news.sky.com/skynews/video/videopla..._060806,00.html

    Middle East Tensions Exploding

More than 54 civilians, at least 34 of them children, have been killed in a town in south Lebanon in the deadliest Israeli strike of the conflict so far. Displaced families had been sheltering in the basement of a house in Qana, which was crushed after a direct hit. Lebanon's prime minister denounced "Israeli war criminals" and cancelled talks with the US secretary of state. Israel said it regretted the incident - but added that civilians had been warned to flee the village. Prime Minister Ehud Olmert said Israel would "continue to act with no hesitation against Hezbollah" which has been firing rockets into Israel from southern Lebanon.

The bias of the Fox News coverage of this war is nothing short of disgracful. How can America let a major news channel get away with such rubbish.

    Wimbledon Thread.

I wouldnt mind Maria if she wasnt so damm load on court, every time she plays I hit mute. Henin on the other hand is so graceful, she can change speeds and she has a wonderful backhand. As for the mens, Federer was out of this world today. No-one will touch him on grass. having seen Nadal's matches so far he needs to learn how to move better on grass which is a skill that many clay courters have not mastered. The movement and therefore being able to hit well is part of the reason why Nalbanian made the final in '02. To be honest if Nadal gets to the final there is only one outcome, straight sets for Federer. Anyway I think he will lose to Bagdadis in the semis.

    World Cup 2006 in Germany

Brilliant game, excellent ref, let the game flow so well. So many refs would have let the game out of control early on but this one didnt. He did let some fouls go but it made for a great spectical. All refs should learn from this game, by giving players respect you gain it from the players and the game will not decend into a 11 vs 10 game, or 10 vs 10.

    Wimbledon Thread.

If Federer wins his first 2 games there will be no stopping him, he usually does not find his best form until week 2 so if anyone is to beat him then it will probably Henman. Womens draw is wide open, however I think Henin-Hardenne will win it, with her draw though Sharapova should make it to the semi's at least if she is playing well. I have tickets to court 1 on Wednesday, hopefully we will see some decent match ups.

    World Cup 2006 in Germany

Strong draw except for this bit. Italy Australia Switzerland Ukraine But we should certainly have 3 very good last 8 match ups. Which will certainly be better than the last world cup where we had only 1 game with two "top teams" in.

    World Cup 2006 in Germany

To the people critising diving or players pretending their injured. I agree that it is a disgrace and it certainly hurts the games reputation in America. Diving (and pretending to be hurt when you are not) is now such a commen place in Italian leagues, South America and other European leagues that it is becoming IMO a big problem. The good thing that it is quite rare with English players still although it is definatly creeping into our game aswell.

    World Cup 2006 in Germany

USA should be proud of that performance. If it were not for the joke officails they would have won that. The "goal" in the second half should have stood IMO, the player in the offside position didnt touch it. America team never stopped running and in my mind deserved to win.

Am I right in thinking that Heyman and Dave Lagana were head bookers on Smackdown between mid 2002 and late 2003, or did they get rid of Heyman before that?

    World Cup 2006 in Germany

Ivory Coast are really great to watch, going forward all the time without fear. A number of their players impressed me, their left back went on a couple of great runs, Yaya Toure and the other central mid could both hold their own and more in the prem by the looks of things.

Exactly, great point. Lots of games are ruined by over fussy refs, this one certainly let the game flow which made for a more entertaining game.

Live Crowds: Which do you prefer being a part of the most?

Football (soccer) every day and twice on a Sunday. The intensity, the emotion, the drama, not just that but the banter between home and away fans is something which to my knowledge is compleatly void from any American sport. When I watch something like American Football or baseball on the Television I see fans of opposing teams sitting next to each othernothing ever seems to go off. It is magic when you are with a group of mabye 2 or 3000 of your own teams supporters all standing together in a tiny section of the ground with 30,000 home fans. When your team scores (say against a bitter rival or in a very important game) there is no better place to be or greater feeling the your corner of the ground explodes and goes f*ckin mental. I think any proper English football fan can voutch for that.

    The Office, Season Two

Glad lots of people in the US love The Office. Having only seen the UK version I cant really comment on this one although I bet its not better than the UK version. Has anyone who loves the American version seen the UK show if so I would be intrested to know how they compared. It seems the US one is going on for far longer has the original only had 12 episodes and 2 christmas specials.
