Seriously, how did Hafner not make the team? Huh? WTF?
-
Ryan Madson 5.72 (6 starts) Cory Lidle 5.65 (5 starts) Brett Myers 7.13 (5 starts) Cole Hamels 6.49 (5 starts) Eude Brito 10.38 (2 starts) Scott Mathieson 6.75 (2 starts) Gavin Floyd 15.75 (1 start) Adam Bernero 36.00 (1 start) You left out Anthony Reyes and Chris Carpenter. I did not exclude a single starter. You'll note four spot starts gone horribly wrong. Even Brett Myers stunk before the domestic assault incident. Wow, I didn't know it was THAT bad. Fair enough. That is...crazy.

I don't really think it's the AL, if we were pitching like this against any team in the NL, we'd be losing too. We slaughtered the Royals in their ballpark earlier, so that's not the problem. I think the pitching has finally imploded, and they are pitching like their peripherals would suggest they should. For the past 3 years, atleast 3 outta of the 5 starters in our rotation pitched to below avg/bad peripherals, but didn't totally fall apart do to superior infield defense, and some luck. Now, all those ground balls that used to get gobbled up, are finding holes, and those walks are all scoring. A team that has a bunch of pitchers that pitch to contact, walk a lot of hitters and can't strike out anyone, is setting themselves up for a failure. And we don't have a 2004 offense that can cover up the bad pitching and slug teams to death. We have a very average lineup and a horrible back end of a rotation, and a struggling bullpen. We'll still probably make the post season by default.

The thing is, in a short series, I think the Cardinals could beat the Mets with Chris Carpenter and Anthony Reyes. I just don't think you can carry pitchers 3-5 that are so bad for an entire season, and expect to steamroll to a division title, no matter how bad the central is. The bullpen being an absolutely disaster isn't helping either.

I've never seen a pitching staff fall apart like this, so badly. You haven't seen a Phillies game the last month, have you? I don't know, have they've been worse? The Cardinals starters ERAs in June Jason Marquis 8.40 Jeff Suppan 5.40 Sidney Ponson 8.22 Mark Mulder 12.71 All have a BA against over 3.90+, Mark Mulder's is almost .500 for the month of June. That's insane.

If that was Larussa should get fired for the bunt call with 2 strikes. This team couldn't be more of a joke then it already is. This is almost an exact replica of what happened last night. 8-7 Royals, home runs Teahan. I can't make this shit up.

Larussa and is micromanaging again. Randy Flores has been terrible since he's been here, but since he's a lefty, let's let him walk the bases loaded and a run in cause we MUST stick to the lefty-lefty matchups. Fucking retarded.

At this point (or any other), I'll take the ugliest win there is, and it can't get much uglier then this. Luck-EEE

The Cardinals haven't been making errors during this losing streak. They just can't pitch. The starters have been horrendous for the most part, the bullpen even worse, and the hitting has been inconsistent. It's a complete team meltdown, and it's getting almost laughable. It's like someone is pulling a practical joke on the fans. Every day it's something else. They lose games all kinda ways; pitching duels, walk offs, blowouts. It's ridiculous. The color commentator for the Cards pointed out how they messed up even after Taguchi didn't make the catch. The runner at second wasn't even close to third when the ball dropped and even though Rolen was waiting at third for what would've been a force out, they threw the ball down the third base line, allowing the runner to advance and eventually score. That's the difference in the game to this point. Ahh, I'm not watching the game so I couldn't see the play. But that kinda mental error is inexcusable. Jesus. They can't pitch, can't hit and are now making stupid defensive decisions on the field. Amazing.

These have been awfully frustrating games to watch because it seems they're down 4-0 or something like that within the first three innings. They were never in either game today. Probably a good thing you aren't a Cubs fan. We've been fed on those kinds of games all season. Here's one for the Cards fans: what do you think of TLR's overmanaging re: the bullpen? He has this fixation on using half the pen in one inning certain games that doesn't seem to work out a lot. He used four pitchers in the 8th and they still gave up three runs and the lead. Of course, if So Taguichi makes the catch, they probably don't score those last two, but I digress. I've always hated the way Larussa micromanages the game and has it moving at a snails pace. It's RARELY effective and it's just time consuming and annonying.

Not a single funny moment in the entire segment.
-
Not really. The NL is just THAT bad.
-
Anyone catch Miguel Cabrera? He was being intentionally walked, with a runner on 2nd in the top of the 10th, he swung at one of the pitches and got an RBI single. LOL.

Jim Thome breaks up Reyes no hitter in the bottom of the 7th with a HR.

Albert Pujols is back tonight in the starting lineup.

http://shopzone.wwe.com/Product_detail.asp...ductId=01-07917 I usually don't buy wrestling shirts, but a lot of these look excellent. Also, they're without the cheesy catchphrases in the back of the shirt. *cops the Mr.Perfect one*

http://www.kansascity.com/mld/kansascity/14781295.htm Trainer says it isn't his name...
-
Why does his trainer being involved make you guys quick to believe he took steroids? Not everyone connected is actually guilty.
-
Oh please. Twenty games? Gimmie a break. It was uncalled for, but 20 games? Whatever. That was a bit excessive, though. He grabbed him, then punched him clean in the face. That was the cleanest hit I've ever seen in a baseball brawl, I think. Even better than Ryan/Ventura. Simon Diamond should use that for his TNAtron.
-
Incredible. Best catch I've seen in years.
-
Josh Fogg of all people. Very frustrating. When Pujols doesn't hit, the Cardinals don't score. That's the gist of this season so far.
