I don't see how Al Snow isn't high on everybody's list. He was at one time BY FAR the most popular wrestler in ECW history. I mean he had entire arenas going crazy.

I thought Savage vs. Steamboat was great for it's time, but it doesn' hold up that great today, if you compare it to the Steamboat vs. Flair matches.
-
I might be alone here, but I think Eddy Gurrero vs. Rey Misterio jr. from Halloween Havoc 1997 is better than Ric Flair vs. Steamboat from Wrestlewar. The Rey/Eddy match was much more action-packed, more highspots (Not necessarily just high-flying moves, just more entertaining parts, as in very little restholds), the psychology in it was equal if not better, and it had a hotter finish. Both are in my top 5 favorites matches, but I think Eddy and Rey's was a little bit better. I'd like to hear your thoughts on the matches and which one you liked better

Not work-rate wise? 1) Tommy Dreamer 2) Sabu 3) Raven 4) Al Snow 5)Shane Douglas 6) RVD 7) TAZ 8) The Sandman 9) The Dudley's 10) Public Enemy 11) Mick Foley 12) The Eliminators 13) New Jack 14) Francine/Beulah 15) Stevie Richards 16) Eddy Guerrero 17) Jerry Lynn 18) Terry Funk 19) Mickey Whipreck 20) Dean Malenko

I thought the Windham/Flair match was better too then the WrestleWar match. I loved all Flair/Luger matches, I think some could compare.
-
That was kinda the point, to get a feel of what style of match is more appreciated here, really. I wanted to know what reasons and why you prefer one style of match over another. I figured these are two of the better examples for each individual style. And yes the 2/3 Falls Match is great, and the Chi-Town Rumble match is probably the most entertaining of the Flair/Steamboat series to me.

A lot of negatives feedback on the Guerro/Misterio match, I seriously don't see a single thing wrong with the match. No restholds, no slow parts/restholds, fast-action, innovative moves, crowd heat, hot finish. That match is perfect to me. This is the first time I've heard anybody say anything negative aout this match.

WCW facts, tidbits, and stuff people forgot

Sullivan has said he never once sabotaged Benoit's career in the past and had no intentions of doing so in the future. He has said he can seperate his personal and professional lives. Hard to say if it's true --- but that is Kev's side. -=Mike I don't if that's true or not, but, there's no reason Benoit should haven't been U.S. champion atleast once the amount of times he fought DDP and Raven for them titles. -
They can't use Jesse's voice. Not sure if you bought Foley'd DVD but his match with Vader, you only hear Tony talking though Ventura did commentary on it. Same thing with Foley vs. Sting on the DVd, notice Foley and Coach did commentary, that's because Jesse was on that one too with Jim Ross.

Hall and Nash stiffed him at World War 3 I thought is was a houseshow, where Nash got a bat and attacked them cause they stiffed Scott Hall? It was a house show in Shreveport LA. And Nash suposedly confronted them with the bat, but nothing actually happeneed beyond words being exchanged. I got a question If Benoit didn't leave for the WWF after he won the title, what angle did they have planned? Cause I remember Nash won the match to be Commish, and told Benoit his life was going to be a living hell and the title was coming back to the nWo. I figured he was going to feud with Nash over the title...that would've been interesting (Not that feud, but what Benoit would've have done period). -

Straight from the Observer newsletter. Then Meltzer is changing or revising his story, because in another forum he said Bret Hart was never going to be the third member. -

Sid jumping off the second rope at Sin. Disgustya! How the fuck does one break a leg like that. ew..

Yep. I think there might have been a couple. I remember Al Bundy doing a promo for it saying he's going to watch it about an hour before the show.

Yes you did. The results from that tourney (courtesy of Graham Cawthon's site): Taped 4/4/1990: WWF IC Title Tournament Quarter Finals: Tito Santana defeated Akeem via count-out after Santana's flying forearm sent Akeem out of the ring; WWF IC Title Tournament Quarter Finals: Mr. Perfect pinned Jimmy Snuka with his feet on the ropes Taped 4/23/1990: WWF IC Title Tournament Quarter Finals: Dino Bravo fought Brutus Beefcake to a double count-out at 5:17 after Mr. Perfect interfered at ringside; WWF IC Championship Tournament Finals: Mr. Perfect pinned Tito Santana with an inside cradle at 7:30 after Santana became distracted by Bobby Heenan at ringside; after the match Perfect announced that Heenan was his new manager; the title belt used at the end of the contest was actually an old tag team championship belt (Battle of the WWF Superstars). Taped 4/24/1990: WWF IC Championship Tournament Quarter Finals: Roddy Piper fought Rick Martel to a double disqualification; this bout took place after Mr. Perfect won the tournament but was aired one week prior to the tournament finals Yep. That finals is on a Coliseum Home Video, and after Mr. Perfect won he introduced Bobby Hennan as his manager. And the IC belt was one of the Tag Team Titles for whatever reason. I have the tape somewhere I think...

I do remember this being advertised in WWF magazine now. So, none of the above quote is true, then? I remember that as well

Rhodes, and Blacktop Bully, were fired right after Uncensored 1995, for blading in their King Of The Road match. The agent in charge of the match, Mike Graham, who had okayed the blading, was fired too. Savage debuted on a live WCWSN doing a promo about Hogan, saying he was either going to shake his hand or punch him out. He left because he got into a fight with Paul Orndorff, and he and Eric Bischoff couldn't agree on a punishment, plus there were other forces who didn't want Vader in. Bret was the first choice for being the "third man", but it never really came close to happening. Then it was going to be Luger, but that was felt to be too obvious, so they went with Hogan. Bret Hart was NEVER the choice to be the third man, and it was ALWAYS Hogan. And that was known for a while. Straight from Dave Meltzer -
Wrestlers who never lived up to their potential

Mr. Perfect, might be the most talented in-ring worker and overall performer of his era (In the AWA/WWF), and never made it to superstardom levels like he should have. Raven, great performer, great mic skills, but for some reason he never got past upper-midcard in WCW and WWF (More than politics to me) Lex Luger, people thought he'd be bigger than Hogan because of his look. Scott Steiner could've been a all-time great if he went to singles earlier when he was a great in ring worker and WWF needed some maineventers Barry Windham....need I say anything right here? -
I can only hope. We need more than a Ricky Williams though
-
In 1992? Yes, 1992 was the worst year financially in WWF history Yep. And it's weird because that's one of my favorite years in WWF history Mr.Perfect (Favorite) and Ric Flair Bret Hart's single's push The Undertaker getting bigger Randy Savage Razor Ramon debut Lex Luger coming in (It was pretty cool at the time) Shawn Michael becoming a singles wrestler Lot of big stuff happened in 1992
-
Didn't do much before either....

Chris Jericho. I've rarely, if ever, seen Triple H have a great match with someone who isn't atleast a "Very good" worker. Chris Jericho carried even Prince I-You-K-Ya to very good matches for God's sake. If you mean presently, still Chris Jericho, though Triple H gets far more time and was wrestling Benoit and Shawn Michaels for the last 1 year.
