The OAO Raw Thread - 2/2/2004

You sound like Flair back in 02 when he used to come out with Batista. "WHAT'S THIS RELATIONSHIP ABOUT?!?" Ah, memories.

X gets better every time in these backstage segments.
  3. Taped on 5/12/92 in Cincinnati and released on 'Bashed in the USA' in 1993, this battle royal has EVERYBODY from mid-92 WWF in it (famous jobbers included). Remove the X's from the last part of this filename, copy and paste, then change the 1 to a 2 and then a 3 to get all 3 parts of this match. You'll also need WinRAR to extract the file, but for a rare match like this one I think it's worth it. http://fleebo.com/mrperfect/XXX40_Men_Batt...al.part1.rarXXX

Las Vegas Expos not such a longshot

They might be able to get away with Jokers or something....after all, the Houston Gamblers played 3 seasons in the USFL without incident back in the day.

For once I am excited about the...

Relating that analogy back to wrestling, then yes, Benoit, a mid card wrestler his entire career , going to WrestleMania to wrestle in the main event for the title would best scenario. *claps*

On January 23, 1984, in front of a sold-out crowd in Madison Square Garden, Hulk Hogan defeated the Iron Shiek in 5:30 to capture his first WWE Championship. On this date, the wrestling and cultural legend known as Hulkamania was born.

Yeah, I noticed that it was kinda odd how Hogan (a face) jumped Shiek from behind to open the match.

    A quick question on capitals

I think it's got something to do with the SWF. That's a photoshopped pic of John Heidenreich.
  14. Remember, some of these lower-card entrants can be 'replaced' on HeAt with a backstage attack or something like that. 1998: Skull KO'd backstage, doesn't enter 1999: Mosh's spot taken by Viscera 2000: Thrasher's spot taken by Bob Backlund 2001: D'Lo/Chaz's spot taken by Drew Carey

    Which WWF legends should

I'm not so sure about that... Personally, having a segment where they get all the living former WWE champs to come down to the ring (complete with entrance music) would be pretty cool. It'd basically be a gimmick battle royal with no match, which would be fine.

    Which WWF legends should

For the record, Yokozuna had no children. I feel that he MUST be mentioned at WMXX because he dominated the WWE, if only for a year or two.

    And your review...?

    Question

Right. For example, WWE wrestlers competed on the Yokozuna memorial show back in 2001.

    Royal Rumble Neat Facts

3:27?! when was this and why? My bad, it's actually 3:12. During the 2002 Royal Rumble, HHH entered at #22 and did his WHOLE entrance. Problem was, he and Austin (already in the ring) were supposed to brawl and do a double-KO spot to set up the Hurricane's entrance. So, they gave them another minute to go at it. Now, longest time between 2 guys actually getting in the ring would be 4:37, also from the '02 Rumble. That's the time difference from when #21 Test came in the ring to the time #22 HHH entered the ring (remember, he did his FULL entrance).
  21. Nope...last year was 90 seconds. It probably will be again this year just so they can fit all the matches on the card (and they may STILL have to drop the CW title match to Heat or something).
  22. Does anybody remember any details about this? 1) What was the storyline purpose of fighting for the 'Big Gold Belt' during the time before it became the Int'l title? 2) How did they introduce the WCW Int'l Board of Governors? Were they on-camera? Were they anybody famous from the wrestling world? Thanks in advance!

    Favorite Rumble?

Lol, I never caught that when I watched it. Worse was Ken Shamrock's very loud "SLAP ME!" to Ryan Shamrock at the 1999 Royal Rumble. The Shamrock thing is at SVDM. I love it because the camera is no more than 3 feet away from them; you can hear every word so clearly.
