  1. From wiki:

    On the March 2 edition of Raw is War, Kane's opponent, Steve Austin, was taken out by DX and with nothing to do, Bearer ordered the time keeper to deliver a ten-bell salute for The Undertaker's passing, before telling Kane to tombstone him. After he did, more bells were heard to ring, this time signalling Undertaker's theme music. The ringing continued much longer than normal, with Bearer denying the possibility of it being the Deadman. Eventually a sarcophagus appeared on the top of the ramp and after lightning struck it, The Undertaker sat up before revealing that he had been through hell and talked to his parents to tell them that he would have to go back on his vow. The week before WrestleMania, Kane came to the ring and began to display similar supernatural powers as his brother, striking the TitanTron with lightning, as well as the announce table, before striking a crew worker with lightning, setting him on fire; Undertaker was shown on the same episode speaking to his parents' gravestones, revealing it may have to take the damnation of his soul to reunite the troubled family.

    I believe the Undertaker soliloquy in front of his parents' graves is on the 'Tombstone' boxset.

    Off topic, but I can only think of two uses of a wireless mic in WWE history: the aforementioned Undertaker promo building up the Inferno match and Mr. McMahon berating The Big Show at WrestleMania XV.

  2. Sam Boyd Stadium would seat only ~40,000 for Mania if you factor in the giant set/ring setup. That's too small for WM except for MSG.

    I think the grassroots support for WrestleMania XXVI that started in late 2007 will ultimately give PHX the event. Remember, Orlando got Mania because they were the first city to actively campaign for the event...and Phoenix has got WAYNE GRETZKY to promote the bid. It's becoming like an Olympic bid where city officials and local celebrities are meeting at Titan Towers to bid for the event. Given WrestleMania's proven economic impact on the host city each year, that's no surprise.

    I expect XXVI to go to Phoenix, while XXVII will be held somewhere in the Northeast. After all, it will have been seven years since Mania was held in the old WWE stomping grounds, so I expect XXVII to be held at the New Meadowlands Stadium which will open in 2010 and seat 82,500.

    XXVI = University of Phoenix Stadium in Glendale, AZ

    XXVII = New Meadowlands Stadium in East Rutherford, NJ

    XXVIII = Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis, IN

    XXIX = Georgia Dome in Atlanta, GA or Rogers Centre in Toronto, ON

    XXX = Madison Square Garden in New York, NY

  3. Since TNA is circling the drain right now, I think it's time for us to face facts. TNA will, in all likelihood, close by the end of this calendar year. The bad booking and poor business decisions may have done damage, but it will be the economic downturn that finishes them off. This can happen at literally any moment, since Panda Energy controls the company's purse strings and I don't expect them to keep throwing money into the TNA hole when they could put it to better use producing energy.

    Once the company formally closes and lays off all its staff, I'd expect WWE to purchase the company's assets and video library direct from Panda Energy for $2 million.

    Here's what I think will happen to the TNA roster:

    Abyss = becomes monster heel in AAA and Puerto Rico

    A.J. Styles = picked up by WWE

    Alex Shelley = returns to ROH

    Booker T = retires and resumes running his wrestling school

    Brother Devon = indies, ultimately retires and becomes popular shoot interview subject a la Raven

    Brother Ray = indies, ultimately retires and becomes popular shoot interview subject a la Raven

    Brutus Magnus = back to Gladiators

    Chris Sabin = returns to ROH

    Consequences Creed = picked up by WWE

    Cute Kip = indies

    Eric Young = sent to FCW

    Frankie Kazarian = sent to FCW

    Hernandez = returns to ROH

    Homicide = returns to ROH

    James Storm = picked up by WWE

    Jay Lethal = sent to FCW

    Kevin Nash = retires

    Kiyoshi = back to Japan

    Kurt Angle = picked up by WWE

    Matt Morgan = picked up by WWE

    Rhino = indies before retiring and opening a school

    Robert Roode = picked up by WWE

    Samoa Joe = returns to ROH

    Scott Steiner = indies, becomes the new Iron Sheik

    Shark Boy = joins HUSTLE and becomes cult figure in Japan

    Sheik Abdul Bashir = joins AAA

    Sonjay Dutt = indies

    Sting = retires, appears on WWE television to promote WWE's "The Man Called Sting" DVD boxset

    Angelina Love = signed to WWE

    Awesome Kong = becomes monster heel in Mexico

    Christy Hemme = retires from wrestling

    ODB = signed to FCW, then cut

    Madison Rayne = signed to FCW

    Raisha Saeed = succeeds in Mexico

    Rhaka Khan = succeeds in Mexico

    Roxxi = signed to WWE

    Sojourner Bolt = signed to FCW

    Taylor Wilde = signed to WWE

    Velvet Sky = signed to WWE

    Daffney = signed to FCW

    Sharmell = retires

    SoCal Val = indies

    Traci Brooks = indies

    Mick Foley = writes another book, becomes a popular shoot interview guest

    David Penzer = indies and guest appearances

    Don West = back to HSN

    Jeff Jarrett = writes a book about TNA and becomes a popular shoot interview guest

    Jacqueline = retires

    Jeremy Borash = finds another upstart promotion like NWE in Italy

    Jim Cornette = back to indies

    Mike Tenay = retires, only for his legacy to be sullied when WWE mocks his commentary for years to come

    Also, expect WWE to release a mocking retrospective DVD entitled "Final Impact: The TNA Wrestling Story" featuring clips of Cheex, midgets in trash cans, the first Ultimate X match when the belt fell down, and the Turkey Bowl.

  4. An excellent homage to the original series while also working as a good starting point for a reset franchise. Oh, and it's a good standalone movie too.

    The first 10-15 minutes of the movie immediately establish this Jason as someone not to be fucked with. The theater I was in gave a huge ovation once the sequence ended.

    You get the impression that the filmmakers watched the first few Fridays, picked out their favorite shots/moments, and figured out how to incorporate them into the script.

    A lot more sex and drugs in this film (with T+A around the level of Part V).

    An updated soundtrack using cues from Manfredini and a lot of hip popular music from various genres.

    Unlike Rob Zombie, the F13 team knows how to write dialogue that is believable and appropriate for the characters.

    Definitely worth watching if you're a fan of slasher movies.
