    Spirit Squad

Im annoyed by them (I've said this before). It wont bring any members to stardom. They will need to be repackaged before that happens. They are all over RAW (way to much tv-time given) and as charachters they are all over the place. Loud without really accomplishing anything. I still cant distinguish who's who except Kenny because he wears an awful sweatband.

TNA Comments which don't warrant a thread

I just saw 411mania report that Joe would face Steiner at Slammiversary. Well thats fine and all but it also said it was for the x-division title. Sure its not about weight but they bill it as "its not about limits its about no limits". My question is thus: Who is more limited than Scott Steiner?
  3. Please split them up and repackage each and every one of them. I hate the gimmick and cant stand when they're on. Im sure at least a couple of them could be alright if given good gimmicks/personalities.
  4. A list with Benoit matches cant be anything but great. However I would put Benoir vs Angle (Rumble) in the #1 spot. I also think Finlay vs Benoit from SD was better than the PPV match. With that beings aid I have only seen the matches once each. I would probably rank Benoit vs Regal from velocity higher (the one from a few months ago, never saw the recent one).
  5. As a non-american I wonder if this is higher or lower than before.

What is your pro wrestling name?

That wrestling name generator doesnt seem to work for me I am no-one

    Incident at Tapings

I never saw this reported anywhere else. Dave Meltzer said that Rhinos TNA contract is up soon though so he wouldnt even need to make a mess if he wanted to leave. I think people blow this out of proportions.
  8. Actually I saw the first week of that gimmick. It doesnt really limit them in the ring in any way and they were over with the audience. Im looking for these two to go up against London and Kendrick pretty soon.
  9. JBL is a good talker but if he will continue to wrestle this isnt a good idea. He will then rule RAW for a few months until someone else replaces him. I think its important to not have a revolving door of GM's. Actually I would prefer if they didnt even do this GM crap anymore. Its been done to death and nothing speciel has come from it for such a long time.
  10. Indeed. And Burchill isn't capable of playing off the gimmick whatsoever in the ring. It's like pointless career debilitation and humiliation. While he doesnt play up the gimmick while in the ring he does a good job outside of the ring. But still its a shame he has this gimmick. It wont make him a main eventer when he so easily could be built as a top guy. He's got the size and the actual wrestling to back it up. He's loads better on the stick than alot of main eventers as well.
  11. This was long overdue. I never saw anything in that guy. He was wasting my time. A thanks to WWE for not going through with his rumored bisexual gimmick as well.
  12. Jamal doesn't have the charisma to pull off much else. Yes, they "waste" five guys on a hugely succesful gimmick that is drawing heat and main eventing TV shows. Boogey Man got OVER and Burchill is perfect for the pirate gimmick. It's just a damn shame he has no ring presence to accompany his charisma. Jamal - you never know about people. How many thought The Rock would be one of the big 2 names during the boom period? I mean come on when he debuted almost no one saw anything special with him. Im not saying jamal is the next Rock but Im saying that you shouldnt say that he cant pull anything else off. You never know. Besides what Im against with the samoan gimmick is that its been done to death. They could at least have tried to be a little bit original. I wouldnt call the Spirit Squad highly successfull. They only main event because Vince loves them. They draw decent heat but nothing special really. And no one will come out of the SS gimmick as a star. They have to repackage them later on. Boogey Man got over but he isnt a wrestler. He was even enjoyable for a while. But why waste time with the crappy guy behind the gimmick? I mean come on, the man sucks and they dont want him to wrestle because he is that bad. And yes I think they are wasting Paul Burchill. He's one guy I could see as a hevyweight champion if given the chance. Im pretty sure he wont even get near a world title when he has a pirate gimmick.
  13. Create a tv title and let Regal win it. Cause without a tv title, Regal just isn't the same. He needs a title with a time limit. Those were the best things on Nitro, Thunder and Clash of the Champions...Regal surviving by time limit and leaving like he was a god for surviving by time limit. Good stuff indeed. However Im opposed more titles in WWE. They cant even book the ones they have. The world titles always have angles around them, som bad and some betetr bur always something. The IC and US get a little bit of time but not alot. The crusierweight title means nothing and the womens title have like 3 maybe 4 believable wrestlers (depending on how good Beth is). The tag divisions are of course a mess or even non-existent.

The Great Debate: Spirit Squad vs. UMAGA

This is pretty much the only time I remember Maven getting some promo time. Cant remember if he was good or not but I do remember that he got some good heat off of it (on that particular PPV). I believe he got beat by Shelton Benjamin 3 times in a row with the longest match being like 10 seconds or something.
  15. With WWE being lazy with creating new stars maybe its a good sign if JBL is retiring. I mean then they HAVE to make new stars and they might start to try to do so. I mean they put Jamal as a stereotypical samoan and they actually waste 5 guys on a crappy Spirit Squad gimmick. They push a useless wrestler as The Boogey Man that eats mroe worms than he wrestlers and they turn a great wrestler in Paul Birchill to a pirate. And then we have the veterans like Booker T who they didnt do alot with for years (we'll see what happens now). And what are the plans for Benoit? And its a damn shame they never really pushed William Regal that hard. He could EASILY be a bigger name than he is right now. They just seem to drop the ball with to many people.

The Great Debate: Spirit Squad vs. UMAGA

No that would be Masters, Snitsky, Maven heat of WHY THE FUCK ARE THEY IN THE MAIN EVENT! Maven heat? When Maven was a Heel he got legit heat, I think he was a good Heel. No Heel Maven dissing here. Maven did not get legit heat it was the oversized FLCL eyebrows that got the attention. I think he did get legit heat at the end when he was a heel. I remember that PPV when he got beat 3 times in one night. When he was on the stick he was drawing some good heat. He was worthless as a face though.
  17. They won't. That's not what the company wants. And you made a calendar for just 14 PPVs, there's already 16. I know they wont. PPV is where they make alot of money as well on the non-american business. Yeah I made a 14 PPV calendar. I would easily remove two to make the ECW PPV's get a month alone. Maybe IM just old school and boring but I like it when there arent PPV's all the time. Now they do have the inter-brand ones + they are going to have essentially 3 different brands that want to get some time on PPV. Im worrying they will increase the number of PPV alot. I would be more than happy with just the 4 big ones. I think it would make them think of the product more and I think those PPV's would feel more special. Now there is at least one PPV per month and sometimes 2. Its just not the same. And why bother with a PPV when you dont wanna do a proper build for most of it (ccough - judgment day 2006 cough).
  18. On the topic of PPV's I hope the ECW PPV's mean that they cut back on the unnecessary RAW and SD PPV's. This is what I hope for: 4 inter-brand PPV's (Rumble, Mania, SummerSlam, Suvivor Series) 2 ECW PPV's 4 SD PPV's 4 RAW PPV's This is more than enough and it would give them time to actually built towards a PPV. It could work like this: January - Rumble Feb - RAW March - SD April - Mania May - RAW June - SD --- ECW July - RAW Aug - SummerSlam Sept - SD Oct - RAW Nov - Survivor Series Dec - SD ---- ECW

    Best/Worst

Wasn't that his actual name for a while? I was all over that one at first too. Yes, they actually changed it from Val Venis to The Big Valbowski for a while after he went back to the porn star gimmick after that run as Sean Morley.

    Best/Worst

On the bad side of thing I agree on "big bad booty daddy". Is someone supposed to take that seriously. It sounds stupid. Also Hardcore Holly as "The Alabama Slamma" was really bad.

The Great Debate: Spirit Squad vs. UMAGA

This is why I cant stand them. They are all over RAW all the time. They f up their cheers and they are all about making lots of noise all the time. They kind of fly all over the screen without making alot of impact. I get tired of seeing them. To me they havent showed that much talet yet. No match they have been involved in has been a *** yet (not according to me). What they have done that I enjoy is the use of a trampoline. It makes for a cool visual at times. Umaga on the other hand has a bad, bad, bad gimmick as well. However he isnt all over RAW and its limited to a short squash or alike. Estrada is working alright for me. Nothing excellent but not bad either. That squash match from last week was also entertaining for what it was. If I had to choose I would choose Umaga hands down. He doesnt irritate me half as much as the Spirit Squad does.

    Is Kawada/Misawa still the standard?

What date did that match happen? I have one match between the two from sometime in 1993. Its really bloody from the get go. Could that be the match you refer to?

    20 Most Essential Matches (1982-2001)

You think? I dont think "the most essential" and "the best" is the same thing. Essential is more of a big match with a big impact on the business to me. That way Hogan vs Andre (WM III) would be a essential match. It did suck from a wrestling standpoint but it was really important. In contrast there are loads of great matches which never really meant a whole lot beside maybe being the blow off for a minor feud or something. Even though the wrestling is just as good or better than another match doesnt make it more essential.
  25. Lets hope they just do what they want with him and then fire his ass. He never brought anything good to WWE... ever!
