    WWE signs Shannon Moore

Im wondering why WWE fire people left and right and then re-hire them. Palumbo, Haas and now Moore. Didnt Jamal also sign to come back to the promotion? And I dont quite get why they sign Palumbo or Moore again. Im doubting they will do much with either man. That is if they dont savck Vito and makes Palumbo a FBI man again.

    TNA arena crowd

Dueling chants isnt that bad. However it is used the wrong way in TNA since so many matches get dueling chants. One great moment was Angle vs Cena which has a HUGE dueling chant. The cool thing was that you could hear half of the audience rooting for Cena and the other half for Angle (ok more were in Angles corner but still). Most men chanted for Angle and the women and children chanted for Cena. This gave the matcha great effect and this has happened before as well and its been good. Whats wrong with the TNA dueling chants is: * that it seems like the same guy roots for both people. * that its used WAY to much. On the topic of applause after a nice wrestlings equence; I want more of that. So many people seem to not pay attention even if they see something totally awesome int he ring. Educate the people a bit more and have them appreciate good wrestling.

They need to piss the fans off. Just like Foley did in ECW with the anti-hrdcore gimmick. Go out of your way to piss off the fans and you'll get heat. Just beating up a random face wrestler wont do you any good in TNA it seems.

Most forgettable stint in a promotion

Lance Cassidy was that cowboy gimmick right? I do remember both from early 1993 or so. I believe they went to a 15 minute draw against eachother at one time. I also reckon that was the last match I saw with either of the two. If my memory doesnt fail me I used to think it was a nice little match they had. On the subject of long gone WWF wrestlers in 1993. Damien Demento wasnt in for that long. He got a jobber squash push and was in the Rumble that year but I believe he dissapeared after that.

Most forgettable stint in a promotion

They weren't under contract. They were brought in as a test and people got mad because Hawk didnt sell the 5 star frog splash enough. Thats why they werent offered contracts (from what I can remember).

Could a double turn be on the cards?

I'd love to see Cena as a heel again. I really enjoyed his character while he was a heel on SD some years ago. HHH as a face would blow though. If I remember Cenas heel-run with joy I remember HHH's facerun with the opposite. He was awful. Sure, give HHH the title (Cena wont work as a champ) but make the Cena turn the day after on RAW when he is pissed he lost the title or something.
  7. I agree even though I watch both. I have always prefered SD over RAW. There has been short periods of time when I've thought RAW was better but if I had to choose I would choose SD any day. Of course for me it doesnt matter if its live or not. I just enjoy SD a whole lot more.

    WrestleMania matches that never happened

A good read. Thanks for posting.

And the Smackdown ME for Mania is...

I cant do anything else but agree with you. I see it this way, its stupid to not have the Rumble winner getting the title shot. He shouldnt even be able to loose his shot. But he did, and out of all people Randy Orton won it. Orton vs Angle does nothing for me. Actually Orton hasnt been that interesting to me since the run as IC champ. So even though logic will have to take a step back I prefer Rey vs Orton vs Angle ANY DAY over Angle vs Orton.

WCW facts, tidbits, and stuff people forgot

What happened to Sgt Craig Pitman? I remember him being pushed hard against jobbers and then to "new star" Cobra but then I seem to remember that he disappeared. I had no access to WCW after early 1996 so I might have missed something though but I never read about him after 1995 either.
  11. I might be way off on this but back in the day I used to have a thing for WWF Backlash 1999: # SIX MAN TAG: The Ministry (Mideon & Bradshaw & Farooq) defeated The Brood (Gangrel & Edge & Christian).. # HARDCORE TITLE MATCH: Al Snow w/Head defeated Hardcore Holly to win the Hardcore title.. # IC TITLE MATCH: The Godfather w/Five Hos defeated Goldust w/Blue Meanie to retain.. # #1 CONTENDERS MATCH: New Age Outlaws (Roaddog & Billy Gunn) defeated Owen Hart & Jeff Jarrett w/Debra.. # BOILER ROOM BRAWL: Mankind defeated The Big Show.. # GRUDGE MATCH: Triple H w/Chyna defeated X-Pac.. # GRUDGE MATCH: The Undertaker defeated Ken Shamrock.. # WWF TITLE MATCH: Stone Cold Steve Austin defeated The Rock to retain.. Looking back on the card (I havent seen this in a loooooong time) Im not so sure on how I would feel about it today. However back then I felt it was a better card than any reviewer thought at the time. I mostly remember Show vs Mankind which was pretty brutal.

The Unreal Story Of Professional Wrestling

So anyway beside the Hogan part of the documentary (which we all expect to be wrong ons everal accounts) what other info is wrong in there?

The Unreal Story Of Professional Wrestling

I just saw a few minutes of this the other day (I watched it when it aired in 98 too), but one error that caught my attention was saying that Andre jobbed the belt to Hogan at WM3. I'm almost 100% positive that Hogan was champ going into that match (though I didn't become a regular fan until WM6). Well yeah and Hogan claimed Andre died shortly after that match (if by shortly you mean several years ). I assumed that was the only things that were really wrong with it. Hogan revisionist history.

The Unreal Story Of Professional Wrestling

The funny thing is, most of the biography is wrong if I remember correctly. Yeah? I didnt know that. What were the factual errors?

WCW facts, tidbits, and stuff people forgot

Did WCW give us any reason why they changed Harlem heats names around 1994? They first went as Cain and Kol (Unsure of the spelling) and were later known as Stevie Ray and Booker T.
  17. One of the most overrated PPV's according to me is Royal Rumble 1992. Everyone seems to say this is maybe the best Rumble match of all time. # TAG MATCH: The New Foundation vs The Orient Express # IC TITLE MATCH: Roddy Piper vs The Mountie # TAG MATCH: The Beverly Brothers vs The Bushwhackers # TAG TITLE MATCH: The Natural Disasters vs The Legion of Doom # ROYAL RUMBLE: Ric Flair won the WWF Heavyweight Championship I cant say I remember alotof the under card other than the fact that it was pretty dull and boring. The Rumble match is what gets alot of praise but I cant really feel it. I watched it once and then one more time on the Flair DVD. It does nothing for me and large parts are just plain boring. Sure its a good story with Flair as number 3 but other than that I think its highly overrated.

The Unreal Story Of Professional Wrestling

I think its a great documentary that really takes you through 100 years of pro-wrestling. How it developed from shoot to work and everything in between. Parts drag a bit in the middle but its really informative and well done. I would highly recomend it.

    Who's more fabulous than Kanyon?

Good for him if this isnt an angle. Its stupid to live a lie if it tears you up inside. He probably did the right thing. All the power to him and I hope this might help him feel better or something.

    I am sick of blading...

Who says it was a blade job though? It probably was real barbed wire that cut Foley up. Its quite easy to see if they use real barbed wire, especially in Foley matches since he wears alot of clothes. If the wire gets stuck in the clothes its probably as real as it gets.

    I am sick of blading...

I have seen Benoit bleed from his forehead. Never alot of blood though. Jericho has bladed before. He did in his Hell in a Cell match with HHH. I remember because the day after on RAW he had a bandage and when he walked out he had split up the cut again and half his face was covered in blood. One of the best crimson masks I have ever seen. Like Mick Foleys face after his KIng of Deathmatches with Terry Funk in 1995 only that Jericho just had blood on half of his face. Nasty.....

TNA Comments which don't warrant a thread

Just because a company has money to buy lots of stars wont make then equals to the WWE in the ratings. The fact is that the overall product needs to be good as well. And even when it is good they probably need time for the audience to recognize that it is good. I think its a long way until TNA can compete with WWE ratings wise even if they would get Goldberg, Chris Jerico, Bret Hart, Brock Lesnar and Hulk Hogan.

    I am sick of blading...

I like blading if its used right. Some people dont use it right and some promotions use it way to frequently. Generally I think a good blade job definately adds to a match though. I cant explain why but there's just something that tells me that this is intense and its a good way to suspend disbelief. The reason why they always bleed from the forehead is of course that it makes for a great visual and the blood flows pretty good from that area of the body. Its harder to make it look great on other parts of the body I think.

    Women's division

I remember a Survivor Series (2002?). Trish was booked against Victoria (who at the time played the crazy heel) in a streetfight. It would have made a great visual id Trish made a great blade job. Imagine her being beten to a pult by Victoria and her blonde hair red from all blood. It would have a Ric Flair like effect. I think it would have been cool.

    Women's division

WWE had a relatively good womens division a few years ago (compared to their own standard, Im not comparing to the far superior Joshi wrestling). They fired most of the women who could wrestle like Ivory, Jazz, gail Kim (yes I think she was good when she stopped the high flying and did all the submissions) and because of that Molly left. Then they basically had Victoria, Trish and Lita who were wrestlers and the rest just Divas. Its embarrasing watching Candice, Torrie, Stacy and Ashley in the ring. The one new girl who had potential got fired (Christy). I think WWE had a goal to create a believable womens division a couple of years ago but now I think they just want stupid eye-candy stuff. I mean they put Ashley in matches. Ashley vs Mickey James (who is a relatively good womens wrestler) at the Rumble will surely be one of the very worst matches of 2006. They just dont have any in-ring or acting or mic.scill standards. The women just have to have big boobs and a "pretty face" (allthough I personally hate the plastic look).
