So again you're saying that game developers should stop trying to target new players, and focus solely on their core demographic. The point is that Acclaim is still a business, and still looking at different ways to make money. I don't think that they're doing a good job of it, but the intent is there. Try all you want, it just WON'T work. Square pegs only fit into round holes if you hammer them in. 10 year old girls don't play video games, for the most part. And there's no real way to bring them in when they are that young. It works with males because of the violence-reality like factors, but girls simply aren't into that. When they start to get a litle older and they start to like more complicated ideas, then they start to play rpgs and stuff. Most of the girls I know that play video games started at like 17 and with a rpg and thats pretty much all they play. There only intention was to make money off the game, which they should have been smart enough to deduce in the first place, wouldn't sell.

So yeah I tried to be a telemarketer today, 5 hours later and ZERO apointments set, I quit. I'm not a sales type person. But what artist ever was. Here's the thing - the market that the Olsens et al target is huge, and you'd be nuts to not even ATTEMPT to make inroads into it. That's why you get the Barbie games, the Britney games and the Olsen twins games. Yes, you're not expecting the regular gaming demographic to buy this stuff, but if you can draw another market in, why not take a stab at it? Because that market DOESN"T play video games. They play with barbies and are more about social interaction escpasim then violent fantasies. You just have to face facts, 12 year old girls just aren't big game players for the most part. You're not gonan brake through that wall because their ways to escape don't transfer well into video games. All the Barbie games proved that. Acclaims should have had the olsens be in creative control so if the games did bad, it would have been all their fault.

I dont know the name of the episodes, but I hung up on a friend, when i first saw the one about lelahs parents, and this was like a month ago when i finally saw it...and wow was that a tear jerker....i didnt think animation could be that emotional...... and the one about frys bro was damn good too, emotionally.

I saw this today, and I wondered, is it really acclaims fault? How do you make a video game based on 2 girls? Really, what can you do? I mean your ave. gamer is male 18-28 right, unless theres blood, sex, or violence, you don't get that main demographic right there, so your chance to make the most cash is gone out the door asap. The target audiecne for that game is girls probably 14 and under, which is NOT a large market, last I knew. So really, was there any possible way this game was gonna be a winner? The girls don't want to have sex violence, or blood in their games, so what are they gonna use to draw someone into buying the game. I dont know about you, but changing a girls clothes in a video game without even the slightest hint of it being dirty, doesn't even make me consider renting the game no matter how much crack I smoked that day. I can't fault acclaim on this one, them being in a video game made ZERO sense in the first place. It would be like William Hung getting a video game, what does he have to offer in a video game format? Video games are escapism(sp), unless the girls were gonna have computer images of them fucking, which will sadly never happen in real life, no one will give a crap about their game.

I used to get bitched at by my computer tech guy for downlaoding wrestling videos. Kept telling me it was illegal. My arguement was always, ok, sure for the stuff that commercially available, I agree. But if its out of print completely, not from US soil, or of stuff that was NEVER commercially released, how are they going to argue I'm stealing money from them? Now if it was NJPW or AJPW ok, then maybe they could argue it, but since I can't legally BUY their merchindise here in the states, where they don't market or advertise, outside of seeking the product out myself illegally under copyright laws, what can I do to obtain it? I understand going after bootleggers, but if you don't make the product availble through public means, how the fuck else am I suppose to obtain it other then illegally?

Work or not it's drawing attention. Which is what keeps it going. Maybe Inoki is nuts, but I for one would love to see something DIFFERENT on WWE tv, like NJPW wrestlers. Lord knows they can't be as bas as some of the WWE workers have been. Zach-whats-his-name....Albert, Bradshaw......and the list goes on. And how many wrestlers learned things from watching Japanese wrestling? God most of the good wrestlers wrestled there at some point or another in their career. It makes money in Japan, maybe it could draw here. Hell anime, pokemon, and Power Rangers showed us that things from Japan can draw big money in America. I keep hoping Spike or USA, or some station, gets access to old japanese wrestling footage, just to see if it would draw ratings. Can't do worse then what heats done. As for Inoki and Sapp, Sapp is about as equal to Hogan, in terms of "superstar", in Japan, as far as I've been able to understand, and if he draws, its a good move. If he's not drawing, then others are right, he has no reason to be champ. But if he's making money, push him to the moon. Of corse maybe this is all a work so the WWE can have an excuse to NOT put some of Benoit's Japanese footage on his DVD, instead of forking over whatever they were asking for it.
