What actual proof do you have that Jeff is currently a junkie? Seriously. We all know the rumors, we've all heard the old stories, but where have you seen any concrete, verifiable evidence that drugs are the cause? That's a bullshit argument. Show me one main eventer (besides Mick Foley) who hasn't at some point regularly consumed at least alcohol, steroids, pain medication, if not something harder.

Gojira. Per wiki:

::checks IMDB:: Dammit. And, uh, I never saw 3 (Hah! punnery), but from what I heard about the ending to that one, doesn't it make the idea of another sequel kinda difficult?

I think the DotD remake HAD to be that way. The fast running zombies are such a fearsome enemy that humanity's pretty much fucked. How would a biker gang even get TO the mall, through a crowd of hundreds of sprinting zombies? The only real flaw I thought that one had was that there were too many random people to keep track of in the mall, should've been a smaller cast.

But there's no Saw 4 this year. Don't know why they wouldn't wait two more months to get a guaranteed bigger box-office.

Yes. Russo was still under a long-term Turner contract that forbid him to work with another wrestling company, iirc. So he convinced the WWE to buy it out and hire him, pitched ideas that were SO lame he'd guaranteed getting released, and then went to TNA which was his real goal all along. Nice example of the Pillman Maneuver there.

What do you completely and utterly suck at?
Jingus replied to Copper Feel's topic in No Holds Barred
I would've been what? No, I went through the same gym classes as everyone else all throughout school, and my matches were still all crappy comedy affairs. The only thing I could ever pull off gracefully was doing elbow drops. EDIT: can't do any musical instruments either. Coordination between the left/right sides of my body is too crappy. Maybe I could if I practiced a LOT, I can type just fine after years of experience, but I've tried some rudimentary piano lessons and got nowhere. Never even attempted to drive stick shift, wouldn't ever want to. -
Yep. I was around since the Keith days, but none of that stuff has been saved, unless it's at archive.org or something similar. Anyway, here's the oldest post of mine that's still recorded, funnily enough in the OAOAST: Shane stole my idea and tried to do it at Summerslam, apparently.

Yet another vote for drawing here. I suck at anything that requires more coordination than just walking down the street. That includes dancing, riding a bike, skateboarding, and almost all sporting activities. I fart in the general direction of people who think that athletics are a necessary part of a child's education. -
I generally agree. Ya know what, out of everything, hit me oddly hard in DH? The backstory we got on the Bloody Baron. Y'know, the Slytherin house ghost? Waaay back in the first book one of the kids asked why he's forever haunts the halls of Hogwarts covered in blood and bound up in chains, and finally we got our answer, and it's a lot better and more affecting than I would've ever expected it to be.

From what I've seen, this looks pretty good. -The trailer seems to indicate that it's not gonna be just a scene-for-scene remake, with all the footage of Michael in the asylum and such. -Michael Myers killed the Benoits! At least, that's what Geraldo's gonna say when he finds out that Myers is played by Tyler Mane, aka Sabretooth in X-Me... and who used to be a pro wrestling called Nitron, who was Nancy "Woman" Sullivan's bodyguard at one point. One degree of separation~! -And holy shit, horror & cult movie fans, check out that cast. Malcolm McDowell, Brad Dourif, Udo Kier, William Forsythe, Danny Trejo, Clint Howard, Dee Wallace, Sybil Danning, Bill Mosely, and even Adrienne motherfucking Barbeau. Plus Micky from the Monkees, for whatever reason.

Absolutely. That's a big problem with Hollywood and its addiction to bragging about big dollar gross numbers: they don't mean shit in regards to history until you adjust them for inflation and the like.

Per FFMS's request: Sorry, that's the best Google could come up with. Personally, I too support the Failed Bridge initiative.

Anyone ever heard Lita's band, the Luchagors, perform? Look them up on youtube sometime if you want a good laugh and a bad earache. Lita's singing makes one wish she hadn't quit her day job.

Same wrestling ability.

Yeah... except the rotator cuff tear isn't a steroid injury, and never have been. When large muscles (quadricep, pectoral) separate from the bone, that's frequently caused by steroids. But the rotator cuff is a complex arrangement of muscles and tendons held together in a sort of web, and injuries to it are pretty common in wrestling, whether the guy in question is a steroid user or not. Ric Flair and Mick Foley have both had torn rotator cuffs, and neither of them were juiceheads.

Chris Benoit Dead - Toxicology results released
Jingus replied to Human Fly's topic in The WWE Folder
Exactly. There's nothing like professional wrestling. No other entertainment or athletic job in the world compares to its bizarre mix of grueling schedule and dangerous physicality. They're on the road every week, never get breaks unless they're already broken, are constantly injured and in pain, and on top of all THAT have an asshole with a size fetish as their boss who practically requires them to take drugs if they want to make the big money. Not to mention how relatively small an industry it is, you've got thousands of wrestlers across the world vying for just about a hundred spots that actually pay a living wage. And yet they have no protection whatsoever under the law; they have no union, no benefits, no insurance, no pension. All in a career that can end at any time. -
Any time any of the characters were black, Rowling always made sure to tell us that the very first time we met them. And she always called them "Black", upper-case B and everything. I found that kinda weird.

The argument might be logical if Stallone was on the road four days per week with no vacation doing Rocky live every single night. -

Who in the top level WOULD walk out? Cena is a company-line-guy with a possible movie career. Kane: ditto. Batista is bestest friends with HHH. Khali can't speak English and probably doesn't want to risk getting deported if Vince got his work visa axed. Orton is fucking crazy. Mark Henry has proven that he won't quit the WWE no matter what sick shit they do to him. Kennedy is Austin's new apprentice. AND they're all the ones making the most money. So who are these theoretical top guys whose interest it's in to walk out? The top guys are the ones who would need to force the union past Vince. And the top guys are the ones with the least motivation to do so. It's the developmental contractors, the undercard boys, and the people who've already been fired who get screwed the hardest by Vince's system. -
::looking around boxofficemojo:: Interesting site. Too bad the info is so inconsistent; more than half the new releases don't even have a budget figure. And just numbers of dollars ain't everything. According to the figures on this site, in the Alien series, the movies just keep getting BETTER as time goes on. At least, that's what you'd think from the box office totals. In similar news, Prisoner of Azkaban was apparently the worst Harry Potter movie.
-
Wow. Had no idea it did THAT well internationally, that's unusual, and IMDB doesn't list foreign grosses. It's hard to say sometimes exactly how many movies turn a profit, because the studios are infamous for claiming a profitable movie actually lost money in order to get tax breaks. Billy Crystal even made a joke to that effect during the oscars one time.

These guys are employed as independent contractors, which means: 1. They can be fired at any time. 2. They don't receive any sort of severance package or pension. 3. They don't receive medical insurance or other benefits. 4. Their income is taxed at the highest rate. And yet you still claim they don't want a union? Interesting theory. Keep those four points above in mind, and ask yourself, why on earth would an athlete under those conditions not want a union? I think the answer is simple: they can't form one, period. If Vince fires them, where are they gonna go? TNA? In reality, pretty few ex-WWE guys who aren't already big names get picked up there. Japan? Yeah, IF you can find a company that wants to employ you, if you can stand all the travel, if you don't get hurt. The indies? As a former indy "employee", pardon me, but I can't seem to stop laughing. Vince really does have a virtual monopoly on wrestling in this country, and nobody seems to be able to do anything about it. -

Yeah, but they also had about 200 less people that we were counting in wrestling, so the death rate turns out about the same. I think Bossman's was more due to him being heavily overweight for most of his life rather than steroids. But really, who knows? -

A LOT. The ones who don't make enough to afford their own surgeries, anyway.
