Batman and Daredevil realize they have no hope in hell of beating Thor individually, so they work together to bring his big ass down. Then the instant that happens, Batman clobbers DD from behind, since Murdock is all wishy-washy about good vs. evil while Batman exists only to kick people's asses.

Those really shouldn't be on the list, there's been many, many remakes much worse than them, and Ring 2 isn't a remake at all. And Psycho shouldn't be #1.

A pro wrestlers wife threatens to leave him and take the kids, and he goes all crazy on her. Didn't something like that happen in the news recently? ...holy shit you're right. Didn't even think about that. CLASSY.

So, did they suspend the half-dozen Titans who took part in a ringside brawl at TNA a few years back? Hypocrits. I do wonder what the hell Jarrett expects to get out of an unpopular thug who can't get in the ring and insists on being a babyface.

HTQ: there are many cases in which an injury's severity isn't immedietely obvious. Like when Shawn Michaels got the back injury that put him out for four years, he didn't even realize anything was wrong until days later. It also took Brian Lee a week to know his neck got broken falling off the scaffold in ECW.

Some injuries are worse than others. Flair once tore his r.c. and was out for about a year.

Chris Benoit Dead - Toxicology results released
Jingus replied to Human Fly's topic in The WWE Folder
The only people with enough power to force Vince to accept a union are the top drawing guys. And still, you'd have to get almost ALL of them to agree simultaneously to do it. If even a couple are left out, Vince would be all "Okay, YOU'RE FIRRRRED, meet new world champion Chris Masters!" Proof: look at the WWE now. They're operating without any of the following in the ring: Undertaker, HHH, Edge, Shawn Michaels, Benoit, Rey Misterio, Kurt Angle, Eddie Guerrero, Big Show, Brock, Bradshaw, Rob Van Dam, Rock, Foley, Hogan, or Austin. And they're doing just fine. If wrestlers tried to unionize, even a high-placed few scabs would kill the whole thing. Did the numbers. And it's all very approximate, as it depends on who you count as a Wrestlemania "participant": personally, I just took the people who either wrestled, managed, or ran in during an official match. (And even then, there's room for argument.) Out of about 310 active participants, I came up with only 8 whose deaths are directly attributable to drugs or suicide, along with a few others you could argue about (Bossman, Owen). So SNL and Wrestlemania have about an identical drug death rate. -

Name me ANY other form of entertainment where the employees don't have a union. (And, in fact aren't even EMPLOYEES, but "independent contractors".) Wrestlers have absolutely zero leverage for any kind of bargaining whatsoever. They have no power to change anything. And obviously the promoters just don't care. That's a hell of an idea. It'll take a little while, but I'm on it. -
::looks on wiki:: Same here, only two or three of 'em. Oddly, I've actually seen more movies based on Pulitzer-winning books than I have read the books themselves. Oh, and were there NO other novels published in the year 1991? A Thousand Acres by Jane Smiley, my pockmarked ass. The book was a generic PC remake of King Lear, in which Lear molested his kids when they were young. Button-pushing bullshit.

Why bother with facts when you can just make up bullshit out of thin air? From IMDB: Budget $150,000,000 (estimated) Gross $133,382,309 And keep in mind that 150M budget doesn't include advertising and marketing costs. Yeah, once the film was sold overseas and on DVD it finally broke even, but then again it's actually not common for a mainstream movie to completely lose money after all sources of income have been exhausted.

Well, Nash was in the Punisher movie, maybe he got 'em a deal on the name. (Though I doubt it, considering that Marvel has been a real bitch about always getting their money for HULK Hogan over the past two decades.) And upon further review, looks like Kurt vs. Joe Part 33 & 1/3rd will probably be the main. Jesus, why don't they ever feud these guys against anyone else?

Some OVW footage is on Youtube, but it's pretty random, whatever fans put up there themselves.

Yeah, it's Star Trek, just make up some pseudo-scientific bullshit, always worked before. Why are people so excited about this, and about that other "Cloverfield" thing JJ Abrahms is doing? Upon a quick check, it turns out that Abrahms actually has relatively little experience as a director. He directed only two or three episodes each of the various shows he "created". The only movie he's ever done was Mission Impossible III, which lost money at the box office. And he's written some REAL shit in his time: we're talking the Armageddons and Gone Fishings of the world. And then there's Lost, which I've never watched, but even its most hardcore fans seem to all say that it took the biggest nosedive in quality in the second season since Twin Peaks. Why does this guy have such a hot reputation?

INGMAR. Can a mod please fix the thread title?
-
I do think it's stupid to have it as the main event, though. Has nobody at TNA noticed that the buyrates inevitably go down when the main event is a tag-team match or something where the heavyweight belt isn't on the line?
-
Hell, after hearing all this, I actually wanna see this movie now. Watch Lohan get tortured and have random body parts fall off? Now THAT'S funny.
-
Over the past decade, Hogan sometimes seems like he gets over better as a babyface in the nWo colors than he does in the traditional red & yellow.
-
Doubt it. Hennig was still sitting things out in summer of '94 with an apparently career-ending back injury.

Wrestlers You Like as Wrestlers But Dislike as People?
Jingus replied to zappafrank's topic in General Wrestling
I've got two words for you: Shawn Freakin' Michaels. One of my all-time favorites in the ring, maybe even #1 now that Eddie and Benoit are dead and Angle is a crazy crip. But jesus what a sack of shit he is in real life. -
Unless you didn't have cable, like the vast majority of the everyone at the time.
-
So... all those promises of a mystery Former World Champion showing up were a complete lie. What a shock. Fuck you, TNA.
-
Maybe not. But those Duke lacrosse players can tell you how she sometimes cares about really weird stuff.

Jingus replied to Human Fly's topic in The WWE Folder
Because the WWE would fire them if they said anything other than the company line? "Tests are great, nobody on drugs, everything peachy keen!" Besides, remember how the WWE ordered its workers not to talk to the media unless it was set up by the office first? -
DC's Final Crisis by Grant Morrison and JG Jones
Jingus replied to Kurt Angle Mark's topic in Literature
Does anyone else have a hard time keeping up with all these different DC mega-series with Crisis in the title? -
It's INGMAR. I thought he was already dead. Upon an IMDB search, he's been churning out plays and stuff for Swedish TV ever since he retired from film directing. Man, I'd love to see some of that stuff. ::goes to watch Seventh Seal::
