  1. 1. WCW is the type that would fuck something up like that constantly. Remember Daffney's one-and-only PPV match, that horrible "wedding gown" affair against Stacey Keibler? The absolutely brilliant braintrusts of WCW scheduled her to wrestle that match less than a week after she had throat surgery. And she gave them notice about it long ahead of time. There are many, many other similar examples. 2. As I recall, Animal didn't actually DO anything in the match except run out and stomp Sid for the pin after his leg snapped like a slimjim.

Yeah, Russo turned him back babyface soon after he arrived.

    WCW Observer Quotes

It would've made sense: Sid was a guy Savage brought in, helped Macho Man beat Nash for the belt, Savage said he was the one behind the hummer driver, so yeah, Sid was the obvious choice. So obviously WCW teased us for months then pretended it never happened.

Bonnie Hammer submitting ideas to Vince

Exactly. Mankind came in and immedietely not only feuded with, but pinned the Undertaker. More than once. That right there assured he wasn't going to be seen as a joke. But aside from the "in hindsight this is gonna look like a baaaad idea" cases like Khali, when's the last time they pushed any newcomer like that? Oh yeah, Brock, and it worked, the fucker's been off TV for three years and the crowd still pops if you just mention his name.
  5. Both in different ways. Firstly, Helmsley basically called him a dumb incompetent nickel/nugget/knicker/ya get it, then proved himself right by completely squashing the dude. Hell, 30 seconds seems short, it felt like it took half an hour for HHH to crawl over and finally cover Booker at the end. Wrestlemania XIX: it took three F-5s for Brock to beat Angle... it took three legdrops for Hogan to beat Vince... it took three rock bottoms for Rock to beat Austin... but bah gawd it only took ONE pedigree to completely knock Booker the fuck out.

    Watchmen cast

In his Citizen Kane days, Orson Welles would've indeed made a perfect Osterman. I hate this whole cast. Rorsharch looks okay, but Crudup is all wrong for Manhatten, and I've not even heard of most of the others. Except that one worthless prettyboy fucker who played Raoul in Phantom.

Who Wants to be a Superhero?

Meh, the superhero generator is shite. Not enough options, plus it's buggy in some parts, wouldn't do everything I told it to. Says the guy who created Peter fucking Parker.
  8. XIX is my fave mania followed by 21,18,17. XII had plenty of hype but some matches felt really bleh. like the 6 man tag and the womens title match. XII had great matches in Austin/Rock, TLC, Jericho/Regal, benoit/Angle. I didnt like Taker/HHH as much because they should have just stayed in the ring and have a barn burner. The rest of the card was merely meh....IMO. XIX however suffered from only one truly bad match (Handicap Match), That wrestlemania flowed really well with the triple threats being great and the cruiserweight championship being entertainable (I mean how could they do Wrestlemania without Matt Hardy?) I loved the Last 5 matches of that card. HBK/Jericho was simply outstanding on all levels. Booker/HHH was really exciting to watch and the commentating is funny as hell. I just wish Booker won.... The Street Fight was classic WWE style and it was fun to watch and the story was really something....(I love watching the promo for that match). Austin/Rock III is one of my fav matches all time. The magnitude, the hype, and the fact it was the end to probably the greatest rivalry ever in the WWE. Lest not forget Austins last match. I have an xtremly soft spot for that match. Angle vs Brock was everything and then some. Sure Summerslam 2003 and the iron man on smackdown surpass match but damn..... its hard to get any better then this Wrestlemania main event. Sure Brock screwed up the SSP, but the wrestling was phenominal and i can watch it over and over and never get bored. 17 did have a bigger hype input. 19 had multiple main events and the hype was strongly divided. 17 was probably better in terms of buyrates and such; plus there wasnt 2 brands. 19 IMO had more compelling storylines but at 2001... WWE was riding high andwas so popular they could do no wrong.... Although look at the crap that was WM 15 and 16. 17 was treated like more of an old-school Bigtime Wrestlemania, held in a gigantic stadium and all. Except for Vince/Hogan and HBK/Jericho, to me 19 just felt like another PPV. Yeah, Rock/Austin was good, but not nearly as good at at 17. Yeah, Angle/Brock was good, but just kinda generic WWE Main Event good, not blow-away "holy shit" good like the main event of 17 (or 20, at the time). And... Booker/HHH "really exciting"? It was slow, plodding, and completely buried Booker as such a non-entity that it took his career three years to recover. To me, TLC 2, Benoit-Angle, Austin-Rock, and the absolute 24K gold that was the Gimmick Battle Royal were all better than anything 19 had to offer.

    WCW Observer Quotes

I liked Sting's heel turn. I laughed my ass off at the bit where Hogan was signing autographs for kids, and Sting sneaks up behind him Crow-stylz saying "Hey Hulk, can I get your autograph Hulk, you're my hero Hulk!" in this high-pitched voice.

    Teddy Hart signs development deal?

And after that he should have some private lessons from Hardcore Holly and JBL Are you kidding? This is a guy who spent years feuding with Homicide and B-Boy, after growing up being stretched by Grandpa in the Dungeon. A little more beating ain't gonna change him. Haws is right, he knows exactly how great a potential talent he is, and he's kinda spoiled being a third-generation wrestler and a Hart and all that. Plus, he started wrestling in 1995, so he has zero patience for people who see him as a greenhorn kid. (Just for comparison, he's been wrestling longer than Rock, Cena, Batista, Orton, Edge, Christian, Angle, Styles, or Samoa Joe.) But the WWE has that "forget everything you knew and learn to do it OUR way" policy, so it's not gonna be an easy fit.

    WWE announces 2007 DVDs

Huh. I've never seen it, uh, anywhere before. And the match listing is pretty generic, some of them are obvious gimmes, others are "umm why THAT one?"

TNA Impact Spoilers for July 19th and 26th

Traci's awesome, Roode's not, but TNA hasn't given either of them anything to do. They're bland, boring, generic heels with the vaguest, most ill-defined "Arrogant Rich Bigshot" roles ever. They keep claiming Roode has all this Hollywood stroke, all this money, etc: well, why haven't we ever HEARD his goddamn name outside of TNA? (And why exactly were they so desperate to get control Eric Young like a puppet? That never got explained to my satisfaction.) Stuff like this makes the company look like, well, complete phony liars.

WWE General Discussion for July 2007

I guess there just weren't enough reasons for me to hate Stephanie and Gerwitz already.
  15. 5-10 million minus agent fees, manager fees, greedy uncaring parents, taxes, SAG fees and constant dues, coke habit, legal fees, expensive rehab fees, and god knows what other drugs and how many she is buying for. You can go through millions of dollars pretty damn quickly if you have all of that AND a lousy group of leeches cleaning you out. Exactly. There have been plenty of millionaire celebrities who were forced to file for bankruptcy after overspending and getting into debt.
  16. I get it, and I don't even bother to watch it half the time. And I watch ECW every week. The matches seem more phony and cookie-cutter than even your average Impact affair, plus not speaking Spanish = not knowing the angles = caring much less. I like that AAA imports various different people from Japan (well, don't like Kenzo Suzuki, but generally speaking), but I still wish my cable carried CMLL instead, cuz I've heard they're now by far the better company.

TNA Impact Spoilers for July 19th and 26th

I got bored to death by Steiner's interview and walked away. I don't want BPP making sense, the whole point of letting him talk is wondering exactly what utterly insane thing he's gonna say next. (Although he took FOREVER to get to the point, yammering on about Puerto Rico endlessly while Bubba kept trying to drag it back on topic.) Personally, I don't like the definitely Russo trend of a bunch of older wrestlers sitting around arguing about who used to be better; my whole thought is, who cares about what you did before, are you gonna do anything worthwhile now? And thanks, worthless production crew, for not even getting a shot of Nikki Roxx/i Leavuaeueaueaue when she walked right past the camera. It takes real anti-talent to fuck up something like that. Eric Young humping Sting's leg was the greatest part of this show.

Yeah they are, as long as they're part of the word. I just meant that it doesn't work on Wheel Of Fortune rules where vowels are treated different from other letters.

That would be "Bell Clap", good Dr. Ya know, that clapping move you do to the other guy's ears to get out of a bearhug. I'd never heard the term before now either. "Asian spike" is a wrong version of "asiatic spike".

    Smackdown going HD in January...

I think they're more worried about HD showing stuff like punches not making contact and such. Personally, I don't think HD is THAT much clearer that they really need to worry.

Thanks Rando. "If only the Taliban knew they were doing a bad thing, they'd stop." Mwa ha haaa. I remember those days, when the only people who cared about Afghanistan were the college activists who were the only ones who'd even heard about what was going on there, and most of them had half their facts wrong anywah.

Depends on who you ask. In Japan, they call what you're describing as a tiger bomb a Tiger Driver, in English and everything. (It comes out sounding like "Tie-gah dri-vah").
