How much do indy wrestlers actually get paid?
Jingus replied to mysterious_w's topic in General Wrestling
I seriously doubt that Jennifer Garner's professional stunt double from Daredevil would get nude in front of a bunch of strangers just because the company was being a cheapskate. Also, I've been in TNA's old backstage area. They didn't have split locker rooms. The only rooms with doors on it were Jeff's private office (about the size of a closet) and the room that contained the backstage toilet and shower, and that room was always filled up by the upper card cliques. The rest of the backstage was just one big open area. The girls usually went into a private bathroom inside the building managers' offices to change clothes. -
Yeah, I'm talking about the types who'll only eat food that 1. Grew in the ground 2. Was organically grown, no chemicals 3. Was hand-picked, not harvested by a giant combine or something 4. Is still relatively fresh At least, that's what they claim they only eat. In reality, unless you run your own farm, it's damn near impossible.

They're not covering up anything. Just try googling "Houston murder" yourself. Try not to let your eyes glaze completely over when you see how many results get kicked back.

Yeah, like Cena's losing. Usually, the "FINAL title shot" thing means the babyface goes over Benoit Why did Marella PIN THE UNBEATABLE CANNIBAL in the first place? I wish Flair would win this... phat chance though. Hardy Boyz are on different TV shows, and the draft is over, so they telegraphed this one real good Does anyone thing Yang has a shot in hell? More importantly, does anyone care? See above comment. Replace "Yang" with "Candice".

CNBC Thinks That WWE Could Potentially Be Sued By Stockholders
Jingus replied to Oldschool's topic in The WWE Folder
Thousands and thousands of people. (Whom the WWE doesn't give a shit about.) Technically, they did break the law by issuing all these false press reports. In practice? It's just rassling. Almost any judge who gets a suit over this is likely to immediately throw it out. -
Whenever I stop meeting stereotypical idiotic fallacious vegans, will do.

Hey, Ford looks just fine. I don't know what's keeping him young, but the whole world needs it. Now THAT'S funny. Weird that they wouldn't put Sallah in the script, considering Rhys-Davies had that massive career resurrection as Gimli and all.

Aw dammit. They never even tried to push or use any of the people they hired for ECW.
-
Shhh! Don't mention real-world problems that would destroy hippy-utopia fantasies! Practical logic isn't allowed in these sort of debates, didn't you know that?

From everything I heard, the old Asylum crowd was almost completely absent at the PPV. Most of those folks are still pissed at TNA for treating them so shitty in so many ways. The Slammiversary crowd was made up of casual fans, people who got given free tickets for some reason (most of the front row people had never been to a local show in their lives), people who lived in the surrounding region who drove in for the one big show, etcetera. The old Nashville crowd just didn't go.
-
The obvious answer? If it happened in old ECW, it didn't count.

I met Popick... twice... insert your own joke here. I think there are one or two others, but it's been a while and I can't remember.

And that's where subjectivity comes in. I thought Deathproof was the best thing in Grindhouse (except for Werewolves of the SS, natch) and was really underwhelmed by Planet Terror. Then again, I like most of Tarantino's movies and dislike most of Rodriguez's, so it wasn't a surprise for me.

I dunno about the Trinity part, but it's true that most of the jobbers and Explosion workers never got paid in early TNA. -
Arn also worked for WCW in the time when Sid came back from 1999-2001. They've supposedly made their peace with each other. Not like they're best friends or trade christmas cards, but they can stand to work in the same place and not cause problems.

Also, cutting off people's johnsons and sqvuishing it, ya.

Rookies and nobodies often aren't paid at all. Depending on the promotion, sometimes even veterans get paid absolute shit; $30-40 is considered a GOOD nightly payoff on the Nashville indy scene. -
Pretty much how I feel too. Except for the cannibal part. To the hardcore vegans: yeah, you're right, I DON'T care. I think human wants, needs, and rights are more important than animals'. Or, at least, more in tune with my own interests and desires. No no no, it's "meat tastes like murder... and murder tastes pretty goddamn good!"
-
Nope, just horrific mutitlations and scars, depending on exactly what was done to them.

Tietam Brown was... okay. In dealing with stuff like school, girls, all the normal things a teenager deals with, it felt like Foley leaned pretty heavily on his own experiences growing up in NY. But all the weird shit with his dad is what threw the book for me, it was a combination of bizarre dark made-up stuff and .

Exactly. If Hostel 2 had been released before the entire Saw trilogy had finished, it might've had a chance, but probably not now. When you've already got imitators like Turistas beating your sequel to the box office, the market has been flooded and there's much less chance for the film to succeed. Also, "omg piracy will kill the film industry"? BWA HA HA HAAAA. Only if everyone is willing and able to find and download an entire movie (not that easy to do), put up with the usual shitty quality, and watch it all on their computer. Once technology improves and you can watch a perfect print on a cheap bigscreen tv then people might stop going to theaters in droves, but not anytime real soon. This is nothing like the music industry, where people would much rather spend a couple minutes downloading the good half of the songs on an album instead of paying for it.

There are some. But mostly exceptions like married couples. But when I went to college, just back in '99, they didn't have coed dorm buildings. And they had many strict rules about members of the opposite sex being allowed in dorm rooms.

Nope, it was in Pulaski, TN. And a couple years back, when the Klan tried to hold a parade there, the city council unanimously banned them from setting foot in town.
-
Nope. More people watch Smackdown, by far. Remember, Raw is only available on cable, while Smackdown is broadcasted on free tv. Smackdown really took it up the ass in the draft, didn't it? Raw will probably get better cuz they lost a lot of dead weight while gaining some valuable talent. ECW will stay the same, partly because except for Benoit they didn't get anyone good, and because it's ECW and it's been a godawful show since day one.

Besides, in the US, it's a federal crime to cross state lines in order to have sex with a minor who was illegal in your own state.
