"Cemetary Man" cominf to DVD This June

2Gold already said what I was gonna say verbatim, so let's just toss this on the heap as yet another accolade to the film that is easily the best work of Rupert Everett's entire career, and one of the few truly original and innovative zombie movies in horror flick history.

My April 1st Wrestling Pros & Cons

Don't let 'em fool ya, those kids can work. Ricochet is the only guy in the world that I know of who can turn a complete double moonsault off the top rope, and he has several other awesome highspots as well. Chuck Taylor is kinda like the Spirit Squad guys: athletic, innovative, entertaining, and way better as a heel, but sorta generic in his look.

My April 1st Wrestling Pros & Cons

A couple guys named Chuck Taylor and Ricochet worked the IWA show, right? What'd you think of them?

    Why is Rey getting booed?

I think you're reading too much into it. That was just a really weird crowd in Chicago that night. They seemed completely arbirtrary on which matches they played along with the storyline heel/face dynamic (like Taker/Henry. HBK/Vince, etc) and which matches they went completely against the grain and booed the top babyfaces out of the building (Trish/Mickie, both title matches). No rhyme or reason that I could see.

At the end of the day, economics is like any other science: we're pretty sure that these rules are true and unbreakable... unless at some point in the future we find a way to break 'em. Nobody really knows for certain why the economy acts the way it does. (And if they do, well, they ain't sharing the secret with us.)

    College!

...w-what? College? Aren't you, like, fourteen? DAMN I been on here a looooooong time. And just my advice, go for the best school you can get into, by any means necessary. I took the easy way out and went to a generic state university, and I've been regretting it ever since.

    Who's established nowadays?

And how my keyboard will, on occasion, mysteriously act up and force me to stop typing in mid-post and finish it hours later?
  9. Jingus

    Who's established nowadays?

What if someone has multiple gimmicks? Like how I'm very fond of both whining about my personal life and namedropping the various wrestling "stars" I've worked with. And I "run" the competing cooperative website that is known as "the conservative board" despite the fact that I'm mostly liberal. And how I was somehow considered to be smarky enough to be a mod, but then basically disappeared and accomplished nothing. And how I was in the OAOAST, but never actually wrote anything or did much productive. And how I keep fucking chicks who are fat or redheaded or psychotic or all of the above

    The Sopranos-Season 6

I only got to see about half of the most recent episode... but let me state for the record, God I still fucking love this show. Ever have one of those moments where a movie or a TV show uncomfortably mirrors your own life in a weird, uncanny way? Every time AJ goes in to see Tony is like that for me. I've actually had the experience of looking down at my father's bullet-ridden body as he lay on a hospital bed in a coma, and, well, it ain't fun. I understand exactly why AJ wants to whack Junior so bad, and I don't think that storyline is quite dead yet.

That's what I disagree with. I don't think he was intentionally trying to piss anyone off via his horrible posts. I think he was honestly just that fucking stupid... and you don't find quality idiocy like that just growing on trees.

Holy shit, that pretty much answers my questions, thanks (thanks Eddie Mac too). Why then is there so rarely much public debate over immigration reform? Why are the hot-button issues all about how to treat illegals instead?

Ross to Call Raw Matches at Mania

Well, how would you do it? Or anyone? How could any announcer turn the bullshit that the WWE forces onto them into something good? Joey Styles is IMHO as good an announcer as there ever has been, and he's already proven to be a fairly miserable failure at trying to do JR's old job. And yeah, JR does overuse his cliches and catchphrases, and sometimes yells a bit more than he has to, but honestly those are the only two faults I find with his work.
  14. I've never understood the "religion of peace" moniker. So, all those terrorists who murder people aren't Muslims? That's kinda like Christianity's claim to being a religion based on love: maybe some of its practitioners are like that, but damn a lot more of them seem to be assholes who violently disagree with anyone who doesn't believe as they do.

    Hey BITCH

I second that emotion. I've never understood guys who go bonkers for the standard porn star look: fake tan, fake blonde hair, fake tits, and anorexic. Why? Why not appreciate the awesome miracle that is woman in all her natural glory?

But I want the long answer. Really, what about it is so horrible that someone would rather sneak into the country and live like a criminal rather than go through the red tape and be legit?

    School Lunch

Sports were considered pretty important here in Tennessee, but not to THAT extent. But still, the star quarterback tended to get more preferential treatment than the valedictorian, which I think is ridiculous. And if there really are high school stadiums that have 15,000 seats, well then, they're obviously not spending much money on academics. It's a massively disproportionate waste of time, effort, and resources to put that much emphasis on a football game instead of on doing your homework. Of course it has a purpose. Kids should know about exercise and physical fitness. But lots of PE programs focus more on mindless sports play than actual calisthenics and physiological knowledge. How does getting hit in the face with a dodgeball teach me anything other than to really hate the asshole who threw it? And I never liked math either. I spent most math classes playing Tetris on my graphing calculator. But I might actually use my knowledge of geometry at some point in my life. I don't think it's likely that my knowledge of how to hit a baseball will ever be called into question.

And that's a disgusting opinion, but it's his right to have it.

    Hey BITCH

OK, you admit that you don't like the entire race of white chicks, and then made completely outta-left-field assumptions about her further imagined flaws (and how does an in-shape twentysomething have "wrinkles", anyway?), wouldn't you say that you're just a little bit biased?

    School Lunch

Ding ding ding. And you can't teach someone not to be clumsy and completely unathletic. PE was pointless for me. I learned that I liked lifting weights. That's the ONLY thing I learned after ten years of the shit, other than learning that I hated wearing short shorts. Teamwork, sure. Leadership? Only for those who got to lead. Athletic ability and strength? How are those "very mportant things to learn" by any stretch of the imagination? When has any high school anywhere ever built a stadium like that? I went to a fairly rich high school, and we only had the two big rows of bleachers like every other HS. Um... cause I was really bad at it, constantly felt embarassed, and altogether hated it? And it's not just that I was a big lazy fat slob. I was taking karate classes three times a week at the same time that I cursed the earth that the school gym was built on. I loved karate; I did it because I wanted to do it. But I sure as hell didn't want to run a mile, play dodgeball, learn country line-dancing, or any of the other inane stuff they made us do.

    School Lunch

Because sports are an extracurricular activity. Nobody is forcing them to be an athlete. Colleges are, sure, and I do think that the athletes should get a cut of the money. But K-12 schools don't really make any more money from an athlete than from any other student. YES. It hurts the football player, cause he never learns it correctly and comes to expect good grades to be handed to him. It hurts the other students, cause they had to put in a lot more work to get the same grade, and that tends to build resentment. In my experience, no, it doesn't get them in shape. If someone doesn't want to be active, they usually find some way to slack off during PE anyway. It's impossible to force someone to enjoy healthy exercise. Your second point is true. The first and third are completely subjective, and I sure as hell didn't feel that way back in school. The entire purpose of school is to learn. Period. It's a school, not a park playground. As for the "get more money" argument, how is that different at all from your argument about schools getting money from athletics? So if nothing changes whether they're taking PE or not, what's the point of forcing it on them? EDIT: why aren't the quote tags working?

Bret Hart confirms he will not be at WrestleMania

It doesn't matter when Bret's inducted, the order of the lineup doesn't matter, just have Shawn leave the room and then come back, simple, ever'body's happy.

    V for Vendetta

. . . How is that such a hideously ugly man can somehow morph into a not-what-I'd-call-attractive-but-not-hideously-ugly woman? In a few years, I really want to pay a visit to whatever surgeon did his hair restoration, it looks great. Also, why do all the adds for V still say "from the Wachowski Brothers"? Kinda hypocritical.

Ross to Call Raw Matches at Mania

I can understand that, but I have two arguments against it: 1. The WWE forces all of its announcers to do the shilling thing. No matter who they put in that spot, they make them talk that way, so that's not something you can blame on the individual. 2. I don't know about you, but I could usually tell when Ross was saying something because he had to, and when he was saying something because he really meant it. It was his tone of voice, his general level of emotional intensity. So I'd just ignore whatever he was saying during the one, and still pay attention during the other.
