Bret Hart confirms he will not be at WrestleMania
Jingus replied to QuestionMan's topic in The WWE Folder
Well, Sherri Martel was his valet for a long time. But it's still an excellent question, especially if you reword it like this: Why does Shawn have to be there during Bret's part of the ceremony anyway? Why couldn't he just quietly slip outside when it's time for Bret to come out, and then come back when he's gone? I don't think Bret should've gone public with this, it reminds me of the bad ol' days when it seemed like every week he was bitching about something in interview after interview; but I don't think to demand that Shawn not be sitting there staring at him while he's talking is anything out of line. -
Personally, I still think Ross is one of the best announcer in the biz. To all the people who says he sucks so badly, well then, who's your definition of a GOOD announcer? And I loved Styles too... in ECW. Pairing him with Lawler and especially the smarmy show-wrecking wish-he'd-get-throat-cancer disaster Coach in an awkward three-man team (in general three guys together just never works on commentary) completely fucked him from the beginning. Coach just NEVER SHUTS UP, keeps yammering on and on about bullshit, and then Lawler feels obligated to argue with whatever stupid thing he just said... and meanwhile Joey takes the half-second of spare time available to call an irish whip. And I do agree with one thing in the interview: lead announcers shouldn't just call the moves nonstop. Because really, what's the point of that? The viewers can all see what moves the wrestlers are doing. This is television, not radio. The announcers are there to help enhance the match and put over the psychology and storyline, not just constantly describe what moves happened.

Who do you think is the worst poster on the board?
Jingus replied to Your Paragon of Virtue's topic in No Holds Barred
Well, yeah, I didn't pay a dime for it and know jack shit about the software, but it's MY damn board because... hey, look, something shiny over there! ::runs away drinking cough syrup:: -
I was wondering about that too, hadn't heard anything about it in a long time.
-
Not at my school it wasn't. That's a pretty big if. As to the athletes debate, yeah, they've got added "incentive" to get good grades: do well or you're taken off the team. But yes, the jocks do definitely get preferential treatment, at least they did at every school I ever attended, especially if they play "important" sports like football or basketball.

Seriously, anyone? I've asked this here and at the Pit, and the only answers I've gotten at all have been vague "it's not that easy to immigrate" and "we don't want many immigrants so we limit the numbers" type deals. Does anyone know exactly, specifically what about the legal immigration process is so hard?
-
Well, how difficult is it? Why are the illegals willing to go through all that trouble just to avoid doing it?

What could I possibly say to him that I didn't back when the DRAWMUH went down? I'm actually not pissed at FM anymore, not really, I mean it's been a year. I wouldn't trust him with the keys to my board again, but the ravening cesspool of hatred has pretty much drained away. -

There's just something about laughing at idiots that appeals to me. Same thing that made Jackass into a phenomenon, I guess. -

Atheists identified as America’s most distrusted minority
Jingus replied to Dimensions's topic in General Chat
Technically, agnosticism is a form of atheism. Strictly speaking, an atheist is anyone who does not believe in a God or gods. An agnostic is someone who believes that it is impossible to know whether there is a God or gods. You can't believe in something if you think its impossible to know whether it exists or not. There are different levels of atheism. Well, technically I'm closer to being agnostic than anything else, but not in the meaning of the word that Y2J defines above. In terms of religion, God, the afterlife, spirituality, and all that shit: I just don't know. I've seen no concrete proof of either the existence or absence of any divine being. There are so many different religions and faiths out there that it just all confuses me, and none of them sound particularly logical or trustworthy. I hold no particular beliefs, and have faith in no higher power, but I'm not certain that such a power doesn't or couldn't exist. I'd guess that there are a hell of a lot of people who feel like I do, but we don't have any label or group name. We're just... here. -
Popick, I gotta disagree with ya buddy on this one. Your proposal (which some people would call racist, not me, but some) kind of ignores the millions of Americans who are either uneducated, untalented, or just plain stupid. I couldn't begin to guess how many US citizens there are who never finished high school, but I bet it's a big-ass number. And illegal immigrants definitely do compete with those people directly for those shitty jobs. Main Question: what is so damned intimidating about the American legal immigration process that keeps these illegals from going through it? Seriously, you have either Choice A: filling out a bunch of paperwork and waiting a little while in order to become a legit citizen, or Choice B: swim across a river, climb a fence, wander through the desert, run from border guards; and if you make it in safely, then you live almost like a fugitive and are denied many vital government services. Why the fuck do millions of people chose B over A?

Yeah, and then you Ignore them. Why's this hard? fanofcoils was so amazingly dumb that I actually looked forward to every new post from the guy, just to see what howling lunacy he'd come up with next.

All three movies were completely different. Different wars, different types of stories. None of them was a clone of any other. And this furthers my argument against fanofcoils' banning. Come on, a guy who's so dumb that he thinks FMJ is a clone of a movie that came out ten years later? You can't buy entertainment like that. -
I've finally had sex for the first time in months, so I'm off the "worshipping teh HAWTness of Leena" bandwagon for the moment. Trying to be a good faithful boyfriend, ya know.
-
You banned that guy? BASTARDS. fanofcoils was an idiot, yeah, but he seemed sincere about it, like he honestly had no idea how stupid he was. People like that are endlessly entertaining. And if you've got that big a problem with anyone, it's called the IGNORE feature, try it out sometime instead of arbitrarily blocking someone from posting just because they're not a Mensa member. If only there was a board where people weren't senselessly banned for piddling nonoffenses... oh wait.

PE sucks. Yeah, I said it, and I'll say it again: PE sucks. I absolutely hated gym class every single year that I was forced to take it. I was always very clumsy, usually a bit overweight, and very conscious of the fact that I didn't perform or look as good as the other guys. I never learned a damn thing except that I sucked at every sport and athletic activity ever designed by man (with the only exceptions, oddly, being volleyball and weightlifting). I wasn't the only one like this, either. In every class, you'll find fat kids, clumsy kids, chicks with giant boobs that just sprouted and interfere with every step they take, and kids with various illnesses, syndromes, and handicaps that make a day in the gym like a day in hell for them. Why is math, science, arts, social studies, and the like all mandatory when gym often isn't? BECAUSE THAT'S THE WAY IT SHOULD BE. Doing well in trigonometry can lead to a job in astrophysics. Doing well in PE can lead to a job digging ditches. In my day, we called that good eatin'. Banning "bad foods" is just stupid. If someone eats themselves into a coronary, that's their problem. Don't ruin it for the rest of us.

Damn I've been coming here a long time. Which is pretty much what everyone's saying. (except fanofcoils, check that guy out in Movies, he's hysterical) ::whittles stick::

Define "worst" specifically. -
South Park makes fun of EVERYTHING sooner or later... but out of respect for Hayes, they delayed doing a scientology episode for years. But they finally couldn't hold back anymore and did it (cuz scientology is really damn weird, and deserves all the mocking it gets), and then... contronversy erupts, as it usually does with South Park.
-
To fanofcoils: remember the scientology episode of South Park? Isaac Hayes, the man who voices Chef, is a scientoligist. He got mad at Matt and Trey over that episode, and quit South Park. Matt and Trey made this episode as a response, paying tribute to Hayes and further bashing scientology, which they blame for causing the problem. To everyone else: this poor schmuck knows not what he says or does. Go easy on him.

Just google it.

For anyone who's never read his stuff: Dan Brown is a poor man's Michael Crichton who often substitutes ancient religious mythology instead of cutting-edge technology. Angels and Demons was a better book, but I don't think the right-wing world is ready for a Tom Hanks film about a murdered pope and a bunch of slaughtered cardinals, especially once the villain's true identity is revealed. I do actually like the "truth squad" idea though, as lame as it sounds. Offering your own differing point of view is much better than blind fanatical tactics like boycotts, which is essentially economic terrorism.
