It's essentially a two-part argument: 1. At what point does a zygote officially become a human being? 2. Which is more important: the rights of the mother, or the rights of the soon-to-be child? And since there's no way to scientifically provide a hard answer for either one of those questions, people rely on their own personal beliefs to form an opinion.

Well, after what SA said, it kinda makes the rest of our opinions slightly irrelevant, or at least uninformed/inexperienced by comparison.

The funny thing is, we are literally reincarnated in a physical sense, to some degree;the molecules that make up our body came from other living things, and will eventually go on to be part of still others. But reincarnation in the Hindu sense, that our souls live other lives, that seems a little farfetched to me.

So about four years too late I finally tried out Morrowind. And damn, this game should come with a complimentary gift certificate to a game rehab clinic afterwords, cuz it will EAT YOUR SOUL as you spend every waking hour in front of the monitor. Plus it's got the biggest friggin' city I've ever seen in any RPG, I mean bigger than Midgar in FF7 big.

One thing I don't understand is the laws that don't make exceptions for rape/incest. I mean, would you really want to be alive if you came into existance by, say, your grandpa/father raping your then 14-year-old mother/sister?

I still haven't seen one good argument against gay marriage. Pretty much all of them boil down to "the Bible says queering is a sin". (In the same book that says that a woman having her period is a sin.)

I think it comes down to this: is punishing this man for his crimes more important than following the actual law (not to mention locking up a baby's father simply for fathering the baby)? Fucking and marrying a 13-year-old is stupid and wrong, but I also don't see how him going to jail would help anything, especially since technically he really hasn't committed the crime they're charging him with.

The main reason I didn't like this movie was that I simply didn't understand what about this movie I was supposed to like in the first place. Yeah, it was definitely an homage to the 70s exploitation flicks like Last House on the Left and I Spit On Your Grave, but at least those movies had someone to cheer for. I didn't like one single character in The Devil's Rejects, and aside from the various helpless innocent victims I thought the whole cast of characters pretty much deserved nothing but a bullet in the brain. At least in House I could laugh at all the goofy shenanigans going on, but this one ditched the humor and tried to take everything seriously, which killed my enjoyment in the whole process. What pissed me off the most was the way the movie seemed to want me to SYMPATHIZE with the killers at the end of the flick when the sherriff was going all crazy. Are you fucking kidding me? These sick sonsabitches are so violent and amoral that even Charles Manson wouldn't have accepted them as family members. They deserved every single bad thing that ever happened to them, and I was damn near offended that Zombie seemed like he was trying to get me to feel otherwise. Also, major plot hole: what the fuck happened to Dr. Satan? He had like ten times the number of victims and dead bodies that the farmhouse did, but somehow the cops never even heard of him. You'd think that his underground lair would've been a perfect place for the family to hide, but they never even considered going there. In fact, the good Doctor was never even mentioned once in this flick, as if he never existed.
