I think a lot of Prazak's work, personally. I love that he can actually get away with being that goofy and insider-ish with his calls. Because of the loose nature of the shows he works, Prazak gets to do the kind of commentary that all us other announcers wish we could do (like most, I'm pretty much forced to call it straight at on the shows I work). I haven't heard "serious ROH Prazak" yet, but I imagine he does well with that too.

I haven't played any of the games listed, sadly enough; I've been out of the loop for a couple years now. But of the ones I HAVE played, I found Fable to be very entertaining, I wasted a lotta hours on that one.

I can't even begin to count the number of factual errors and idiotic statements in that piece. I might come back & Dissect it later if I'm bored.

Personally, I love Julius Smokes, I think he's hilarious. (Smokes yelling "I HATE your Japanese ass!" in Liger's face is one priceless example.) And I don't think I've liked any of ROH's commentary teams ever. "Dangerassssss!" is one of the worst catchphrases I've ever heard. They also spend way, way, WAY too much time just talking about how great ROH is and how all their wrestlers are the best in the world and how much sports entertainment sucks and all that crap. Guys, I've already bought the video, you don't need to waste my time shilling your product.

I'd be very interested in seeing Necro vs. Joe. Necro really can wrestle, I've seen him do it, he's not just a hardcore guy.

For people who talk so much about human rights abuses, you don't seem to actually know much about the history of such abuses. Re: the word "gulag". Do you know what a real gulag is? Allow me to remind you. Gulags were the Soviet prison camps back in the cold war's heyday. They were traditionally located out in the middle of nowhere in the Siberian tundra. During Stalin's regime, the Soviet government sent literally hundreds of thousands of people there. And these people weren't all "criminals" in the strictest sense: pretty much any little thing could get you rounded up & shipped off. This included disagreeing with the Communist government on damn near anything. They sent writers, artists, religious figures, political dissenters, plus all kinds of minor criminals like petty thieves and prostitutes and such. The conditions at the gulag were quite literally hell on earth (taking the definition of "hell" from Dante's Inferno, where the ninth level of the abyss is portrayed as Satan being frozen in the middle of a vast icy lake). Amenities were few, abuses were many, torture was common, parole was unheard of, and the guards didn't give a fuck if you lived or died. Getting sent to such a place was essentially a sentence of slow death (unless you got murdered first, cuz on-the-spot executions were pretty common). These places were the exact same thing as the Nazi concentration camps, minus a few gas chambers. Now can you understand why it's beyond ridiculous to compare such a place to Gitmo, where the prisoners are carefully monitored for their own safety, receive decent food and free medical care, and are generally taken care of to the greatest possible extent? Not to mention that these men aren't there for no reason; the majority of them are enemy soldiers or terrorists who were caught in the act of doing something very naughty. The "gulag of our times": prisoners are given free Korans. The real gulag: you could be sent there for owning a Koran. And I'm not trying to imply that everything at Gitmo is hunky-dory. I think it's bullshit that they're holding all these people indefinitely, without trials and without access to the outside world or legal council. That's wrong, and definitely needs to change. But to compare this relative country club to the Russian camps of freezing death is just absurd.

How does he stumble across any of this stuff? Rant has an almost magical talent for digging up shit you've never seen, including a lot of stuff you really never wanted to see.

I found two items of interest on Rotten Tomatoes: 1. Dark Horse will be running a Firefly comic book series sometime in the near future, detailing what all happened to our heroes in between the end of the TV series and the movie. 2. Joss Whedon must've run over this guy's puppy or something, because he writes the most ridiculously scathing & negative review of Serenity that's humanly possible. Childishly insults the acting, writing, directing, the fans of the show, everything. An actual quote: "Serenity is an early contender for the worst movie of 2005 and is one of the worst movies I’ve ever seen, period." Anyone else think he deserves to be spammed with lots of vicious & obscene hate mail?

Besides the ECW stuff though, Raw really sucked. All the matches were bad, some of the angles were moronic, and there was just too much talk. Well, there was Lita's suspenders-like shirt and Christy Hemme randomly screaming like a rape victim, those were kinda entertaining.

Both Steiner brothers have reputations of being baaaaaad muthafuckers (the recent incident between Rick and Vordell Walker notwithstanding). They were both very successful amateur wrestlers before going pro, plus they're just inhumanly strong. And the HBK vs. Marines story definitely happened, although exactly what happened and just how many people it took to beat the shit out of Shawn changes depending on who's telling the story.
