RVD has always had a combination of good luck and superhuman physiology. He's gotten seriously hurt only two or three times in his entire career, which is pretty rare for a veteran of his age, much less one of his style of wrestling.

Remember all that talk about torture & rape rooms?
Jingus replied to Jobber of the Week's topic in Current Events
And what did it produce in the long run? "Uh, oops, sorry, Saddam didn't have jack shit for weapons research." I think that invading Iraq, removing Saddam and setting up a democratic government is a good thing. But using the WMD claims was imho the worst possible way of justifying it. -
I bought my copy of Zombie several years ago, I've got The Beyond too. Argento... well, I don't wanna get into that argument again, let's just say that I've seen several of his movies and they didn't do anything for me. I second the recommendations for Dog Soldiers and the DOTD remake, both of which I enjoyed very much.

If you mean WMDs, yep. A great example of why people should slow down & not be in such a rush to take hasty action. -
I don't understand what you mean by the 3rd group. Are these "semi-sluts"? And where did you hear all this gossip?

I've heard people raving about the Japanese horror movies over the past decade, but have only seen a few myself. Audition was good; DAMN good, and creepy as hell. Ringu was terribly overrated, and not as good as its own western remake. I haven't gotten the chance to see any more, but I would like to.

Exactly. If we find out that all this is true, then crucify the bastards who're responsible. But we can't go punishing people based on nothing more than hearsay. -
Of course we shouldn't legalize it all. Hard drugs are just a tiny fraction of the thousands of chemicals which are simply too dangerous to allow the public to use them freely. Cocaine is heavily addictive and can cause heart attacks, so it'd be right out. But marijuana? I've not heard one single convincing argument for keeping weed illegal.

Dory's not gay, he's been married to the same woman forever. Sturgis, that's an awful lot of sluts. Did you just randomly list half the women in wrestling, or what?

The WWWF/WWF/WWE has historically shown that it has no idea whatsoever how to use Japanese wrestlers. (And don't even mention the name Yokozuna.) I don't see any reason to hope that they've been recently struck with divine inspiration on how to fix that. Asai's "push" will fail, just like every other Asian's pushes in that company always have.

That's an old Southern heel cliche. Tracy Smothers still uses that as a hometown to this day. (Although the urge to announce him as being "from Nashville, Italy" was a painful one to resist.)

Bah. Wake me up whenever Kotz "unfairly" bans his first controversial person setting off a huge bitchfest about it. ::snores::

State senator wants boxing gloves on chickens
Jingus replied to Celtic Guardian's topic in General Chat
Cockfighting is inhumane and wrong. Letting chickens kill each other for our entertainment is an obscenity and all the people involved with it should be castrated. "Hello, McDonalds? I'd like a large order of McNuggets..." -
Second that recommendation for Terry Pratchett. If you're a fan of fantasy swords-n-sorcery type fiction with a sense of humor (or if you think all such books are pretentious and stupid), then definitely give his Discworld parody series a look. His style of writing and humor is very British, lots of wordplay and subtle humor, but it's worth the effort, as few other novelists can get me literally howling with laughter. And another great thing about his books is that it really doesn't matter which one you start with, or what order you read them in; all of them work just fine as stand-alone books. My personal favorite was Maskerade, in which he gives the Phantom of the Opera story the skewering it's always so rightly deserved.

But movies are a subjective artform, which makes all these decisions that much more difficult. For example, I do indeed think that Titanic was the best picture of 1997 (except for The Sweet Hereafter, but nevermind), and that A Beautiful Mind was a superior film to all the others you listed, with only Moulin Rouge even coming close in my opinion.

There's still no proof other than the detainees' claims. Yeah, 72 people all telling the same story probably does indicate that there's some truth there. But that's still not proof. I am getting really goddamned tired of hearing "it's worse than Saddam!" when that is clearly not the case: Not to mention THOUSANDS of non-mock executions. If these abuses are really happening, then they need to be stopped ASAP and the abusers need to be sufficiently punished. But there's still no real evidence for any of it. -
This is real modern-day Les Miserables shit right here. I wish I could say that any of this surprised me, but it doesn't. It's depressing (if not terrifying) to see the extent that drug users are persecuted above and beyond all other criminals. I'm amazed that half that shit could even be legal in this country, much less established and protected by the courts themselves.

You'd have to throw in a few stiff-walking corpses who just slowly wander around a cemetary and kill random incredibly incompetent people, all at the behest of their alien masters who control them remotely from their flying saucers. That's right... Ed Wood Zombies.

We should breed this kid with the mean-mugging little girl from Inc's avatar. Their offspring would finally realize man's dream of having deadly laser vision.

Guy tries to kill himself, but decides to live...
Jingus replied to kkktookmybabyaway's topic in Current Events
Nah, worst he could get is a life sentence for manslaughter, they can't prove he actively intended to kill anyone. -
As an indy ring announcer, I've had to invent a few hometowns on the spot. One time, we had this backyard dude who called himself Joker, so I sarcastically suggested the Arkham Asylum... dude loved it, ended up being announced from there for the next three months.

I'm reading Tom Clancy's Executive Orders right now, in which he more or less predicts both 9/11 and the Anthrax scare years in advance. Creepy.

Alright, so what we have here is a tall, extremely muscular guy who's not the greatest wrestler in the world. Not the worst, either, but there's only a couple of opponents who know how to get a good match out of him. His interviews are short and effective, but there's some debate over whether he has any real mic skills. He's a badass heel, but the fans clearly hate another heel more than him and would love to see the badass beat the living shit out of the other heel and take his world title. And his clothesline is sold as a devestating finisher. So what has old Nikita Koloff been up to lately?

...then again, it has been a while since I saw Spiderman 2, and I was pretty high at the time. Alrighty then, she indeed was a redhead in that one. Take the "blond" part out of my original statement.
