It's their own fault for handing out thousands (and I do mean THOUSANDS) of free tickets every week... for a building that only seats maybe 2,000 people maximum. Local indy wrestling in Nashville has mostly been in the shitter ever since TNA came to town, and I think spoiling everyone by letting them see big-name wrestlers every week for free played a major role in that.
-
I don't think you said one thing that wasn't either very offensive or completely nonsensical.
-
Gore Vidal is pretty much the only guy I've ever heard or seen dis Washington, so ol' George seems like a safe bet for #1.
-
Everyone in Nashville except for a few hardcore haterz is STILL pissed at them for leaving, especially since they lied to our faces and denied they were leaving until they actually left, and then lied to our faces again when they claimed they'd return here for the next PPV.
-
Eh, I dunno. Tracy Smothers vs. Dirty White Boy, Ron Simmons vs. Hardcore Holly, and Jerry Lawler vs. Barry Windham all sound like they might at least be watchable, plus the two main events are just fine, so I don't think this card is nearly as bad as some of the others listed here.
-
Meh. I saw all of these guys wrestle (live in person, and FOR FREE) about a billion times when TNA was still in Nashville, and feel no urge whatsoever to pay good money to see 'em again.

So I've wasted enough of my life to finally hit the big five-oh-oh-oh on here. Yay me. In other news, +1.

ATHF is my favorite show out of everything Adult Swim airs, except Family Guy and Cowboy Bebop, but I don't know if I'd count them since they're not original content
-
Booker used to be pretty damn good; see any of his Best of 7 matches with Benoit to see what I mean. However, he's not as young as he used to be, and being forced to work "WWE Style" doesn't help at all.

A "big name" columnist sometimes can make all the difference, whether they're actually a good writer or not. Do you think anyone would go to InsidePulse if not for Keith, Hyatte, Scotsman, etc?

Well, comedy is a really subjective artform, but I don't think that either Miller or Meadows have ever gotten me to laugh once in my entire life.

OaO Thread: LucharesuFan619's Random Match Reviews
Jingus replied to LucharesuFan619's topic in General Wrestling
When did this match happen? I've never even heard of it before. I agree with you on Teddy's matches with Styles being disappointing (there were actually two of them on that Hawaii tour, though the second match was more or less identical to the first) but why didn't you like the Hart/Danielson match? I thought it was a really fun bout that showed both men's strengths quite well, plus had one of the cooler finishing sequences that I've seen in a while. I certainly wouldn't mind reading a review of any of these: Vic Grimes vs. Erin O' Grady (Crash Holly) (7/18/97) (the legendary streetfight) Zandig vs. Wifebeater (Stretched in Smyrna bloodbath) CM Punk vs. Chris Hero (highly acclaimed TLC Match) CM Punk vs. Chris Hero (the amazing 93 Minute Match) JC Bailey vs. B-Boy (2004 Ted Petty Invitational Tournament) Air Raid (AJ Styles & Air Paris) vs. The Jung Dragons Mr. JL vs. Sabu (Halloween Havoc ’95) AJ Styles vs. Low Ki (Zero-One) Ric Flair vs. Ricky Steamboat (Japan; 6-4-82) Samoa Joe vs. Tommy Dreamer Toshiaki Kawada vs. Mick Foley (HUSTLE) any match with Teddy Hart or Jack Evans -
No, that's about it, though I could swear RVD and Austin had more than just one match together on TV, that might just be my memory playing tricks on me though. RVD/HHH has never been worth a damn either, come to think of it.
-
Hiring New Jack would be about the only thing on earth the WWE could do that would guarantee that I would watch their entire show, every single week.
-
Chemistry is a strange thing, as sometimes two crappy workers can have a shockingly good match (Goldberg vs. DDP immedietely comes to mind), and sometimes two good ones can't have a decent match together to save their lives (HHH and Kurt Angle just never clicked together). Why does RVD have better matches with the Undertaker and Randy Orton than he did with Willian Regal or Steve Austin? How the hell did Rikishi vs. Val Venis actually entertain me, while HBK vs. Jericho was so generic and boring? Wrestling is just a weird little artform sometimes.
-
Since they canceled Angel, I don't think I've watched a single television show that WB puts on. Am I really missing anything?

As a ring announcer, let me state for the record that Lilian Garcia is a no-talent ho and a shame to our great profession.

My dad's name is Ronald. His special talents are yelling at me, selling insurance, and no-selling gunshot wounds.

I once had an idea for a short story: a guy dies, and comes back as a ghost... AND his body reanimates as a zombie. Imagine scenes such as the ghost screaming in disgust at its former corporeal vessel as it repeatedly walks into a wall, etc. Never did anything with the idea, though. . . . That's all I have to ad.

Jack Evans Injured at Pro Wrestling War show
Jingus replied to DangerousDamon's topic in General Wrestling
Yep. I'm wondering if working in the new gear with the mask and everything is what caused him to botch the move, as he's gotten it right hundreds of times. -
Well then, just fast-forward to the last scene. Montana has the most ridiculously over-the-top sacrificial death since Christ, and I mean that as a compliment.
-
Aw, come on. It is massively overrated by all the kids who claim OMG GREATEST MOVIE EVER TONY MONTANA RULZZ, and it's way too fucking long, but still, a decent flick, and I've never seen a movie get the weird jumpy haze of a coke buzz more accurately.
-
Scarface will forever be THE coke movie for me. Traffic wasn't that bad, either.
-
I think that SNL is actually better now than it has been in years. It doesn't help that I absolutely hated Adam Sandler, Jimmy Fallon, Chris Kattan, Colin Quinn, Tim Meadows, and most of the other late-90's "stars" on that show, I suppose.

I'm right there with you, man. My mom slipped on some ice the other week and shattered her arm real good, I'm stuck here at her house taking care of her for the near future. (Doesn't help that she's heavily medicated with loritabs and meprogans, and has the attention span of that guy in Memento.) Nothing important to add, everyone else got it already, but you're not alone.
