Taue's Nodawa... ...off the apron to the floor. That one always makes me cringe.

1490, with a 690 in math and a perfect friggin' 800 in verbal. And a 34 on the ACT.

Believe me, there have been some weird, weird matches discussed as possibilities for a rematch. Hopefully it'll be up on the website sometime soon, so you guys can see it in all its messy glory. It took me a good half-hour of showering and shampooing to get all the crap out of my hair.

Well, his list of people present at the cafe was correct, and it does generally sound like Teddy. I'd say it's probably really him, unless someone is really good at copying how he sounds.

Okay, it's time for me to throw my own two cents into this. Now, I will admit up front that I am friends with Teddy, while I've never even talked to Punk, so I might be a wee bit biased, but these are the facts, as far as I could gather them. First of all, this is NOT a work. Not at all. No chance. The men known by the names Ted Hart and CM Punk genuinely do not like each other. Secondly, Ted didn't get his ass whipped by Punk. I've heard from four different, unconnected people who saw the fight happen live, and their stories generally mesh. Ted raised his hand up as if to go for a handshake, Punk bitchslapped him, Ted knocked him down with a couple of punches, and then they were scrapping around on the ground for a second until Sabu broke them up (and accidentally caught a stray kick to his balls too). All this stuff is straight from people I know and trust, who were there at the White Trash Cafe (yes, that's really the place's name).

How do people post so much?

metr0, you sonnofabitch, you just made me laugh SO hard with that pic that I almost got kicked out of the library here. I can't wait.

Well, you just rule, man. I feel like I don't even have to watch the interviews after I read your recaps, because you do such an amazingly thorough job of transcribing the entire damn thing.

The only place where male makeup is appropriate is at a goth club or a Rocky Horror midnight show, in my opinion. Other than that (and utilitarian makeup for appearing on camera, stuff like that), leave it to the ladies.

I've wanted to go to this thing for the past couple of years now, living in Nashville just a stone's throw away and all, but have just never gotten around to it. A warning to straight-edge types: from what some people have told me, this event tends to be so drug-laden it makes Woodstock look like a rehab clinic.

Since I'm in a public library, I dare not click on that. So let me just say, WTF?! Also, I missed the show, dammit. Fucking pre-empting college basketball game. There's no way I'm gonna remember to tape the damn thing at some arbitrary time on Saturday night.

The answer to the Inoki thing is simply that he was the booker for most of New Japan's run, so he booked himself to be so dominant that even Mutoh or Dusty would've told him to lay down every once in a while. He rarely got pinned throughout his 70's run, plus he did the worked shoot crap like with Ali. What I don't get: people who don't get Hansen-Kobashi. I mean, the first time I saw one of their matches (and it wasn't THE match, it was the one from Carny 94) I was blown away by the whole thing. It was my introduction to the AJPW heavyweight style, and I was lovin' it. But since then I've showed it to some friends, and, well, the reception wasn't exactly enthusiastic. It's to the point now where the combination of the words "Jingus" and "All Japan" are often used in punchlines when I'm being ribbed, because my friends just can't stand the style, think it's boring, etc etc etc. Hell, it took Jumbo/Misawa 6/8/90 to get a positive reaction out of any of them. Damn philistines.

Oh. I've wondered how he got away with it. But there's still the bootleg foreign films, not to mention the whole Big Japan deal a while back, not to mention selling other people's shoot interviews as his own.

When was Kanyon released?

I wouldn't buy so many, just because they're expensive and one or two good ones would do me just fine. But if someone wants to own 278 shotguns, well, fine by me. People collect stamps, baseball cards, Cabbage Patch dolls, and many other things with much less use than guns.
