For those of you who aren't standing in line for Dark Knight, there's a new episode up, and it rules pretty fuckin' hard. An unusual amount of plot development for a single installment of VB, with plenty of classic Monarch schtick.

Nosferatu the Vampyre I wanted at least one Werner Herzog movie here, and couldn't decide which one. So I fell back on my oldest rule of thumb: when in doubt, go with the horror flick. This is just about the only remake I can think of which received unanimous critical praise, with even the snootiest snob admitting that it didn't rape the memory of the original movie. Plus it stars the most beautiful woman in history, Isabelle Adjani, at her most preciously fragile peak.

Oh man that hurt. Literally, I got these weird muscle aches up and down my body after watching that show. This was oh so terrible, clowned up from the ground up. The booking on this show was so thoroughly awful that it defies description. EVERY match had some kind of outside interference. NO match had a clean finish. (This doesn't include Stasiak/Palumbo vs Kronik, but I'm trying to forget I ever saw that one.) Oh, to be sure, there were fun moments here and there: Juventud bumping himself to death, Ralphus swinging a garbage can, Daffney being Daffney, and the rather surprisingly ecstatic reaction for Booker's first title win. But those moments were little raisins of gold in one giant cookie of crap. FUCK RUSSO.

Alright, five minute warning, everyone participating get your streams loading and get your ass in the chatroom.

BOTH Coreys, actually. And that Jamison Newlander guy. And Kiefer Sutherland...................'s younger half-brother Angus. But the writer and director are both exclusively experienced in direct-to-video crap, so don't expect too much here.

Same here. "Well it may be a grungy run-down loony bin of hellish nightmares, but boy do they have a great beginner's class in Adobe Premier!"

I've seen the Russo promo and of course the Daffney match, but I think I'm going in virginal on most of this ppv. BTW: for Dailymotion n00bs, start loading the video streams now. It can be a little slow sometimes, depending on your computer.

I don't see the difference, it's still treating one person better than another because they're a different shade of crayola. In this case, less light peach and more burnt umber.

Geez, think 30 Rock got its cock sucked quite hard enough? Hey Emmys, I think I see a microscopic spot of jizz you missed, better get back down there with another Best Guest Star nomination. Of all episodes of King of the Hill, they pick the one where Cotton dies? Uh, no, that episode sucked. Badly structured and not funny even when it was trying to be. Good example of picking an episode for a major plot swerve rather than actual quality. And there's now three separate awards for Best Reality Whatever... yeah, not caring anymore.

The problem with killing an elephant is part having the right firepower, and part knowing where to aim. Many people who've never gone hunting think that you just point your gun in the general direction of animal's torso and it drops dead when you shoot. The reality is not quite like that, especially when you're shooting at something like an elephant where you really do have to aim carefully in order to hit a vital organ. So what does it mean, exactly? It's not listed in the dictionary. Wiki defines it as sorta being affirmative action, but with the caveat that it's "an elusive concept".

Aw c'mon. Just because it's a Lovecraft adaptation, in which they completely changed every single thing about the plot to the point where only one-fourth of the original title remains, and it was directed and written and produced by people who've never made a single movie before, and it co-stars Tori Spelling, that doesn't mean it's automatically gonna suck. No wait, on second thought, it does mean exactly that. The next good Lovecraft movie I see will be the first.

Amelie Technically you could sorta count Eternal Sunshine or Shaun of the Dead as a romantic comedy, but I figured I needed at least one straight-up chick flick, and it was either this or Moulin Rouge. Since this one had subtitles, I figured it wouldn't hurt my mad street cred, yo. Amelie is the movie where Jean-Pierre Jeunet's unique direction skill finally grew up and figured out what it was best at; not bizarre people murdering each other in ugly ways like in most of his movies, but simply showing a world full of love and heartbreak. One (of many) of my favorite part of this is when you later see that one of Amelie's good deeds has utterly backfired on the people she tried to help, and that sort of deliberate hanging of loose ends is the type of thing that the Nora Ephrons of the world just don't understand.

And besides, Chyna's DID work. For being a fairly lousy wrestler, she was dragged to some fairly decent matches by a variety of people: Jarrett, Jericho, Eddy, Venis, etc. And the crowd didn't shit on those guys for getting beat up by a girl, they weren't buried in any way at all.
-
Yeah, if they were trying to appease Booker's hometown fans, they could've done a lot better than have them watch their hero get beaten unconcious to the point where the referees were trying to stop the match and the dude's wife was begging for mercy.

I'll watch either one, I don't have a preference. What time you thinking for this? -
Just keep reminding yourself that Jon Lovitz kicked his ass if you get scared.

I was never a fan of that one either, primarily because I violently disagreed with its main message. I didn't give a shit what bad stuff happened to Alex or how he was reprogrammed or any of that. He deserved every single thing he got: murderer, rapist, general sociopath causing widespread havoc to many people. Fuck that guy, torture him however you want.

Oh man, that one's pretty tempting too. -
Isn't that roughly where Gail Kim's from? Would be a good time for her long-awaited big victory over Kong. ...where the fuck are the spoilers for this week? I've checked all the usual sites, and, nuthin'.

Don't lie back and rest just yet, it goes back to you in like eight hours. We're still a bit backlogged, it's now Mole's, Darth's, and Funk's turns.

The South would seem to be the obvious one. They certainly don't have all the SuperIndy type of shows, ya know, ROH and its various clones and wannabes. Hell, iirc this one indy fed in Birmingham had its all-time biggest live crowd, something like two thousand people, show up for AJ vs Joe a couple years back. And this same fed had also ran main events around that same time such as Rock & Roll Express vs Midnight Express and Dusty Rhodes vs Tully Blanchard in a cage, and they didn't draw that much. There definitely is an audience for new-school wrestling in the South, but few if any of the local small indies even try to go that route.

Thursday it is then. I dare some new people to come join us this time. WCW 2000: We'd rather watch this than Impact. -

Is this literally a "month" club? Two weeks is long enough. Never know when some dude's Dailymotion links might be taken down. Let's do Fall Brawl 2000 tomorrow night. Plenty enough Only In WCW crap to satisfy my entertainment masochism, and enough good stuff sprinkled in so that it doesn't feel like we just mercilessly murdered an evening of our lives which we'll never get back, like last time.
