Heads up, HBO2 is playing a marathon of Carlin's comedy stuff, starting in forty minutes. It's all his earlier specials from the 70s and early 80s, so those of you who only know him as Angry Old George might want to give it a look.

Wow, they're pushing the HELL out of Roode & Storm. But... "Beer Money"? An old Acolytes catchphrase? So did this happen? And how did they avoid man-on-woman contact? Stupid badly written spoilers. Ain't enough facepalm gifs in the world.

I'm having some weird issues with getting the pages to load sometimes. Whenever I either refresh the page or make a post using the quick response box, the page acts like it's loading but never does. The TSM banner and all the Controls stuff loads, but the rest gets stuck in limbo. Meanwhile, if I just go back and click on it manually, everything works fine. This happening to anyone else? EDIT: my browser crashed, and I had to restart my computer. Now everything seems to work normally. Huh. Whatever. Nevermind.

There have been several attempts at putting out diesel-fueled passenger cars over the years, but all of them have failed spectacularly for various reasons.
-
well obviously, since the two have so much in common

To be fair, in general actors do have more total political power than the writers do. If a star ever gets into a disagreement with a writer about anything on the set, the studio is almost guaranteed to back the star every time. Plus there's a hell of a lot more actors than writers out there.

nah, couldn't possibly be that, that never happens Rhetorical question: who's to blame for the seeming downward spiral in general journalistic competence? The media's never been perfect, but it's gotten more aggressively stupid over the past couple decades or so. Who's to blame? The owners and executives, for mandating it? The reporters and other employees, for going along with it? The public, for accepting it?

Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind had a scene like that

Speak for yourself. I once tried to watch Passion of Joan of Arc and did not care for it at all, eventually turning it off halfway through. I'll take just about anything Cazale's done over that. Because I was saving it for the bottom half of the draft, hoping nobody would think of it before then.

ditto Ditto. Looked like one to me. Bradshaw beat the hell out of him, Kofi only got in some token offense, and then he sucked up his first pinfall loss in less than three minutes and broke his undefeated streak. And man did Bradshaw beat the HELL out of him. Ever notice how Bradshaw always seems to hit harder when he's facing some jobber or rookie who wouldn't be allowed to fight back?

So, if you think your neighborhood isn't racist, it mean's you're racist? . . .
-
You are correct on your guess, sir. Now bring back Daffney and I'll watch this damn show every single week.

I didn't know there were any word filters left, period. I always thought those were pretty childish. Let's see if some of the old ones are still around: Scott Keith nigger Scroby EDIT: wow, apparently not.

I'm not even talking about the quality of performance, more about overall popularity, longevity, and impact on the artform. Larry is mostly known for being one of Jeff Foxworthy's sidekicks.
-
Doesn't surprise me at all, but jesus, after the shit they were put through over the past year, you'd hope that they might have learned the tiniest lesson from it. Apparently not.

I doubt that was the intention, but still, face facts. Less than a month ago, the set collapsed at a TNA show and someone died. This was the #2 national promotion and their closest competition, so the WWE office was certainly aware that this had happened. And yet... they went ahead with a planned storyline about their own set collapsing and seemingly killing someone? That's just tasteless.
-
...what? You could've said Dave Chappelle, or Jerry Seinfeld, or Chris Rock, or various SNL veterans, but you went with... Larry the Cable Guy? I know you're from West Virginia and all, but, dude.
-
Why is Marvin the only guy mentioning this? It was, what, two weeks ago where they had the set collapse and it really killed someone. And WWE does the exact same thing as an angle so insanely soon afterwards? Classy.

I find it weird that he's only being fired now, despite having apparently done this stuff for years. Especially since it involves actual physical damage to his students, why wouldn't he be arrested on assault charges?
-
Hey dammit, if you don't end the noun "nig" without the suffix "-ga", it somehow means you're a racist. At least, that's what Pauly Shore Is Dead taught me. Unless you listen to some of the more hardcore back-to-Africa types, in which any white guy using any word beginning with "nig" somehow qualifies as racist.

I dunno about that. Hathaway is crazy cute, and I have a hard time with the concept of Hurt > anyone (never been a fan of his). It would probably be a coin flip between the two. Though admittedly if I was forced to choose one, Hulk would probably win.

I've been hornswaggled into a few shitty ones in my time. I wanted to see a movie on my birthday, and Timecop was the only one which seemed relevant to my interests, and, well... yeah. I saw a lot of shitty ones when I worked at movie theaters, we're talking Speed 2 and Batman & Robin, but since I got in free I didn't feel like I had as much right to complain. Sometimes I've intentionally gone with some friends to see a piece of crap, like me and my girlfriend MST3K-ing the hell out of Final Destination. (One of my greatest movie moments ever was just sitting next to her when she intoned the line "I somehow... believed him!" right before the guy on the screen did.) I've never actually walked out on a movie I paid to see. Sometimes I pooped out earlier than planned in a day-long theater hopping session (after Adaptation, I just wasn't in the mood to suffer through Darkness Falls). I have however fallen asleep during a few films: DaVinci Code, looking at you!

I'll say it anyway: SHITPISSFUCKCUNTCOCKSUCKERMOTHERFUCKERTITSFARTTURDTWAT There will never be another man like this guy. Godspeed, George. Hope that you're wrong and that you are Up There looking down on us.

Yeah dude. I've done the drugs, and you're plain wrong. Plenty of people simply cannot handle the addictive properties. In the words of Jake Roberts: "If you don't want to become a drug addict, don't pick it up the first time, cuz you'll like it. Don't pick it up!" Ditto on prescription pills being the most dangerous. I personally know two people who're dead and buried from scrip pill overdoses, and have seen many others get hooked on that shit hard. Alcohol is the other big bad boy, especially with its tendency to magnify the effects of any other drugs you're taking at the same time, in sometimes lethal ways. And of course heroin and coke can kill you, but fewer people use that stuff as opposed to pills and booze. Brief libertarian soapbox moment: it is physically impossible to overdose on marijuana.

Hah, I had that movie too. Don't remember how we got it, but it was one of the first video tapes we owned after we got a VCR. Even as a little kid it seemed kinda cheesy, so I can only imagine how awful it would be today.
