Pakistan's Benazir Bhutto killed in suicide attack
Jingus replied to Celtic Guardian's topic in Current Events
So do you have a single goddamn thing to actually add to any sort of discussion? Looking back through this thread, you've quite literally posted nothing but lousy jokes, a couple of which don't even make any fucking sense. That's the very definition of trolling. -

Who is that, and why does it matter? (If it's an example of "dudes pretend to be chicks online all the time", remember that DrTom knows her personally and then he'd be lying too and OMG conspiracy~!) Snuffles, why are you so damned determined that she's lying? It can only be one of three things: 1.you think anything I bring to a discussion is automatically false, which means you have an emotional bias; 2.you think that the majority of the people on the internet always lie, which if it's true means I shouldn't trust you because you're lying right now; or 3.you just don't trust anything Marney in particular has to say, in which case my advice would be to go to the Pit and call her a liar to her face, as it were. -

It's not like this is someone I met yesterday. I've known her for six years. If she's lying, then lying to people on the internet must be her full-time job in order to keep track of her own longterm fake continuity so accurately. -

Beating women is normal and makes sense? I know what you mean, he's not as incoherent as Warrior, but obviously Austin has his own problems. -
Pakistan's Benazir Bhutto killed in suicide attack
Jingus replied to Celtic Guardian's topic in Current Events
What conspiracy theories? Her family lived in Pakistan, some still do. The stories were more along the line of "Bhutto demanded a cut of the money and sent some goons to our house for it". That's not so far out of line with the many stories about both her and her husband being thieves on an epic level. No, for conspiracy theories, look no further than the wacky ongoing saga of what her exact cause of death was. We've heard at least three mutually exclusive versions. Someone's lying, pick your favorites on who and why. -

You just described my last birthday word-for-word. 28, didn't do anything, didn't want to. -

Oh. My bad. If you want to believe Marney, her parents personally had some dealings with Bhutto which made it sound kinda like she was indeed a bitch who had it coming. -

Do you argue with me because you have any actual point, or just because you reflexively disagree with any particular thing I have to say? Same thing here, Czech. Your e-stalking of me on here is just creepy sometimes. All I was saying that this woman had many enemies which were actively trying to kill her, and she knew it. They'd tried three times before, including the day before she was killed. If a suicide bomber tries to kill you, why on earth would you go out the very next day in a parade, standing up in plain view, completely unprotected, with nothing but air between her and the people wanting to murder her? -
I think the Civil Union thing is probably the best way out of the marriage debate. I categorically abstain from all abortion debates, those get way too heated too fast and always turn into the exact same arguments.

Holy fuck, it's Vajingus. Only 19% compatible. Granted, I've had relationships with worse odds, but sorry taiga, not worth moving to New England for.

Pakistan's Benazir Bhutto killed in suicide attack
Jingus replied to Celtic Guardian's topic in Current Events
It's not like she was lacking in enemies, there was practically a line of people all queing up to kill her. There had been three other assassination attempts since she'd returned to the country, including one the day before. Why the hell was she riding around in a parade, standing up through the sunroof, in plain view of any potential assassin? Oh, and the obituary is cute, with all the "alleged" adjectives in front of the fairly well-known charges that both she and her husband were real big thieves. -

That's the problem: she's simply a woman who's willing to get naked. Nothing else. They could've stuck any bikini model in the exact same spot and it would've had the same effect. Hell, that's the exact thing they're doing now hiring all the no-talent, know-nothing Divasearch chicks. If someone like Trish or Lita had done Playboy, I bet they would've sold a shit-ton more copies than Torrie did. Torrie has never brought anything to the table except a warm body and the willingness to show it. She never drew a single dime because of any sort of talent, skills, or even rapport with the audience. Thousands of girls could've done the exact same thing. -
Damn Martin Sheen's wife, it's all her fault. (Great reference btw.)

Regarding Walk Hard: apparently it's actually a really good flick, considering its astonishingly high 78% rating over at Rottentomatoes. Personally, I think the lame commercials killed this movie's potential right from the start. I see a lousy trailer for what looks like another dumbass spoof "comedy" with a dick joke in the title, it doesn't make me want to see that movie. When I heard that it was directed by Judd Apatow, I literally couldn't believe it, it just didn't seem possible for those ads and that person to be involved in the same film. The spoof genre has raped the moviegoing public over and over in the last decade, going from bad (Scary Movie sequels) to worse (Date/Epic Movie), and I think even the casual public has started to figure out that there's no surefire way to watch a crappy flick than to go see a movie that makes fun of other movies.

I don't count Playboy sales. It has nothing to do with wrestling, it's just selling magazines. You act like Vince McMahon gets all that money instead of Hugh Hefner. And, as Hawk pointed out, the fact that it was Torrie in the magazine had no effect on sales, as every WWE-themed issue has done great regardless of who the actual person in the photos was. Shit, even Chyna's issues made bank, so clearly when the headline says "WWE Diva Torrie Wilson", it's the first two words that sells the magazine, not the last two. -

My old posts are inconsistent. Some of them seem like something I could've said today. Some of them are so lame I'm embarassed to have given birth to the little bastards. And a few seem like they were written by someone smarter than me, noticing and explaining stuff that I wouldn't get now. It's weird. Too bad the archive only goes back to the last time you changed your name. -
If she smokes, she pokes. If we get a third new female poster here soon and pbone hates her too, I'm gonna start worrying about the little guy.

WWE General Discussion - December 2007

Wrestling, in any form, has historically been at its worst whenever it tries to emulate other forms of entertainment. Most wrestlers are pretty bad actors, and despite what Vince Russo thinks, you can't just train actors to be good wrestlers. The entire appeal of wrestling is that it's different from other TV shows. If you see a guy get slammed onto the mat, you really just saw a guy get slammed onto the mat. Everything you see, really happened. (Except of course bullshit like a midget spraypainting a doorway onto a brick wall and then "running through it", which was so lame I was surprised that even on here there way anyone who liked it.) Why give up wrestling's unique what-ya-see-is-what-ya-get advantage in order to just try to be like all the other shows on TV, the vast majority of which don't draw ratings as well as two guys fighting in a ring? Sportz Entertainment storylines popped the business for a few years, but ratings hit a plateau by 2000 and slowly trailed downward to its current levels. Seriously, why go away from what made wrestling a success for decades? In-ring action is their established bread and butter. Imagine if other TV shows decided to just change what brought them to the dance. What if the makers of Lost said "we're doing great, but we really gotta shake things up, let's change the setting away from that damn island". Or if the guys behind The Shield were like "y'know, what we really need to do is cut down on all the brutal violence and make Vic Mackey into a nice guy". Of course they wouldn't castrate their own product like that. Why does the WWE keep trying to do it? Back on the original inspiration for this argument: Torrie Wilson. What's the point of having her on the roster? She's a hot chick. So what? Every show on television has a hot chick. If you want to watch hot chicks, every channel on the dial has something to compete with. So what does Torrie bring to the table other than being a hot chick? Absolutely nothing. She's not a good actress. She's not even a competent wrestler. Who watches a wrestling show just because they've got some chick whose job is to stand there and be hot? I argue that she has never drawn a single dime in her entire career. So why is she still here? It's especially maddening when you consider the untold dozens upon dozens of female wrestlers on the indies who are also hot chicks, and gee whiz, they can wrestle too! Even the idiots at TNA somehow figured out that one, and stocked an entire women's division full of capable workers who all have different looks. Meanwhile, the WWE has nothing but a whole shitload of Tough Enough and Divasearch chicks who can't act, all kinda look alike, and can barely stumble through a horrible match without breaking their fucking necks. What's the appeal? -
Yeah, TNA did have some cool stuff early on, especially in the tag-team and X divisions. But whoa Jesus they had a lotta crap, and lots of it can be traced directly back to the Jarrett vs. Russo storyline. Sure, S.E.X. put Low-Ki, Elix, and Daniels together for the first time. But also on their roster were such luminaries as David Flair, BG James, Disco Inferno, the Harris brothers, Erik Watts, a variety of untalented women, and the worst X division champion ever in Sonny Siaki. Every single week we were treated to multiple Russo worked-shoot interviews, which was enough to keep me from coming to the shows half the time even though I only lived fifteen minutes away. The booking of people haphazardly turning face and heel was truly bewildering, and practically every match ended with a run-in. Plus, the big babyface they were fighting was friggin' Jarrett, who the crowd never bought as their top hero. The crowd was damn near ready to riot when he pinned Raven after all that buildup.
-
I know you just meant that as a joke, and I laughed, but Russo almost DID do that. Back in Nashville, Russo had his S.E.X. faction invade and try to take over the company. Like the nWo, random people turned heel and joined the stable at random times. Like the nWo, they all wore matching black t-shirts with their faction's initials on it. Like the nWo, the whole thing eventually fizzled out and was just dropped without ever actually having any kind of finish or closure. And right in the middle of it, Russo DID try to destroy the TNA sign, with an axe. Which turned out to be yet another one of those patented Russo ideas which I'm sure sounded cool on paper but didn't work at all in practice, since the axe promptly got stuck in the sign after the first whack and Russo just kind of desperately tipped the whole thing over in order to "destroy tradition" or whatever. Of course, they coincedentally had a brand-new logo and set at the next show. I'm still amazed that anyone supports Vinny Roo after all the shit he's pulled.

Man, it's been so long, it's almost refreshing to see a good WISHING DEATH~! on the boards again. I love the first type. I can see the second type fucking naked in porn, so I have no desire to watch them badly pretending to fight while wearing clothes in a ring. And there's no excuse for the third type being put in on-air performer slots which they have no training or experience for, when there's any number of perfectly good desk jobs Vince could've given them. Because I watch a wrestling television show to see good wrestlers have good wrestling matches. All the other stuff is simply the crap I have to wait through in order to watch the wrestling. If I want to watch bikini models, E! is just a few channels down. If I want to watch giant freaks, Ripley's Believe It Or Not is on sometime. If someone can't wrestle, then there is no use for them on a wrestling show. And don't say "it's not wrestling, it's sports entertainment". Yeah. I know. That's the problem. -
How did you find out that wrestling was not "real"?
Jingus replied to majormayhem1's topic in General Wrestling
I wasn't a wrestling fan as a kid, but I happened to see one Hogan match and one Undertaker promo and figured it out real quick. How did you believe that wrestling was real? -
It seems to be the same kind of argument as with people who like Khali. Why do you like that guy? "He plays a great monster!" What do you mean? He just mostly stands there while the other guy bumps off him. "Exactly!" He doesn't DO anything. "He's a powerhouse!" He can't even lift a guy up for a move without almost dropping him. "That's what happens when you're the size of a MONSTER!" If you're a top wrestler, shouldn't you be able to wrestle, at least a little? "You don't have to when you're REAL BIG!" He can't even do a decent-looking punch. Everything he does relies completely on the other guy to bump and sell. "REAL BIG!" He never changes his facial expression and can't cut a decent promo. "MONSTER~!" Name me a good match this guy's had where he wasn't completely carried. "HOSS!" He fucked up getting pinned tonight, he couldn't roll backwards properly. "REAL BIG~!" Should I even go into his track record with hurting other guys? "BIIIIIG~!!!"
