Cena Injured Tonight (Out 6-12 Months)
Jingus replied to PILLS! PILLS! PILLS!'s topic in The WWE Folder
That is certainly true. In the post-Attitude era, it seems like everyone ALWAYS either does the job, gets beaten up, or otherwise buried whenever the Fed swings through their hometown. Which is beyond fucking stupid, but hey, Vince is a genius. Punk isn't seen within the company as a real top guy. Just look at his competition: Morrison, Burke, Dreamer, Thorne, Viscera, etc. He's never had a feud with or a win over anybody that the office sees as important. The ECW belt is technically a world title, but just look at how it's booked. On any PPV, the ECW belt never gets even as high as semi-main, not even when Vince himself is in the match. Seriously, when EVER has a title match involving Vincent K. McMahon NOT been the main event, except when it was for the ECW strap? Punk is seen by the company as being slightly less important than either Hardy boy. -
Then why doesn't the Democrat-controlled congress simply vote against that? As for SCHIP, it didn't help that the standards really were too low, with an income of $83,000 per year being the cutoff for a family's elligibility. People making that much generally shouldn't need someone else to pay for their insurance.
-
Well yeah, but I don't think being billed afterwards for medical treatment is the biggest problem here. It's people who need treatment which they can't get unless they can pay for it first, like transplants.
-
The problem isn't one-time major health emergencies, like being in a car wreck; emergency rooms are required to treat any pateint who needs their care. The problem comes with long-term situations which require a lot of expensive stuff. Organ transplants are one big example, lotsa people die while on the waiting list. So, you go to the Trog Board, read the posts on the Trog Board, mock said posts on the Trog Board elsewhere... but refuse to post at the Trog Board? What, are you afraid that the kkkonservatives (all SIX of them, they are legion!) are gonna call you names?
-
Also because Republicans just can't stand the idea of government-sponsored health insurance, they think it should all be handled by private companies.

Cena Injured Tonight (Out 6-12 Months)

Hey now, it's "former indy announcer/referee/manager/gopher". And no, it wasn't Kennedy sandbagging him, he clearly went up for the hiptoss, but the positioning was awkward, the timing was off, and Cena just plain bobbled his half of the move. Didn't help that Kennedy was running the ropes a bit too fast, either. -
Have they changed the schedule since I went to high school? Or my little brother, for that matter? As recently as 2001 in my hometown, four years was the standard for high school.

Let go of your hate, my young padawan If you're joking, cool, but if you're still on the Kennedy Sandbagged Him bandwagon, go back and look at the tape again. Kennedy clearly planted both feet and jumped for the hiptoss. It was just a combination of bad timing and awkward positioning on both their parts that caused the odd landing. -
Yeah, thank god for Kurt's ability to swallow his pain pill stash before they searched the car.

It wasn't Kennedy's fault, lushy. -
What do you mean "supposedly"? The terrorists generally wear the same clothes and look exactly the same as the civilians. (That's part of the problem, terrorists are civilians; they're criminals, not soldiers.)
-
Plenty of people do care. Mostly snobby types who think it's just stupid, low class, whatever. Like for example every single member of my family except me.

Why do you still post in/read this folder?

unzips pants The pink streak in the hair is what really sells this one. As to the topic: habit, and wanting to talk to people who don't post at the Pit. -
Every firsthand report I've read of the incident said that. I haven't seen any that contradict it. You're welcome to try and find some. No, go back and read what happened before the cameras turned on. The event had been cut short, and it was time for the last question in the Q&A segment. This douche interrupted the person asking that last question, butting to the head of the line to make sure he had his say. The cops started to take him out right then, but Kerry called them off. The guy asked the question, and Kerry answered it. Then he refused to stand down, and asked another bullshit question, at which point they cut his mike. Then he started yelling, which is when the cops came in and grabbed him for real this time, and the rest of the stuff snowballed from there. The easiest way to tell he was being a public nuisance: the big round of applause the cops got from the audience when they started hauling him out.
-
Yeah, the odds wouldn't be on his side. So? This dude already showed enough stupidity and poor judgement to completely ignore the rules of the forum and make a loud disturbance, not to mention shove cops around, which is about the worst thing he could've done. Why should the cops assume that there was absolutely no chance of this guy physically attacking him next? And you keep ignoring the key point: they only tased him after warning him, loudly and repeatedly, that they were going to do so if he didn't comply. He turtled up with his arms beneath him, which makes it awfully hard to handcuff him without 1.sticking your own hands under him to pry his out (which is something that cops are specifically taught NOT to do, as the suspect could easily be hiding a knife or something down there), or 2.take other steps. Now, cheesalactose, seriously, tell me: if you're on the ground, and the cops are arresting you, and they keep telling you to put your hands behind your back, and they even tell you they're gonna tase you if you don't, and they KEEP telling you... why on earth wouldn't give up your hands? If I were one of the cops, I'd assume you had something nefarious in mind, and wouldn't want to give you the slightest chance to hurt me. Also, why do you keep hammering on the "they should've let him go" thing? No, they shouldn't have. Once he started pushing them around, he deserved to be arrested, prosecuted, and convicted, because you just don't do shit like that in a civilized society without being punished.
-
Yeah, he even had to have one of those tracheatomy-type holes carved into his throat. That's why he always wrestles wearing a bandana around his neck these days.
-
KNEW it how? This guy could've had a concealed weapon, or been a martial arts expert, or been infected with AIDS. There's no possible way to accurately assess someone's threat level just by looking at them.

Cena Injured Tonight (Out 6-12 Months)

They aren't going to let Kennedy have the kayfabe credit for putting Cena out. From tonight's video package on ECW, it's pretty clear that they're saying Orton's attack was to blame. -
I think it's a good idea for everyone to be required to have some sort of government ID. You're not required to have a driver's license, obviously not everyone can qualify for one. But everyone needs a photo ID.

I think the SSP off the top rope is the only banned variation. The running version (Red Star Press) doesn't have that much impact. And doing it from the ring to the floor isn't really much different from any other dive. Regardless of exactly what the angle of the body flying at you is, you pretty much catch 'em all the same way. In fact, I'd way rather have someone do a SSP for a dive on me than a moonsault, at least with the first one you can see what you're doing.

Cena Injured Tonight (Out 6-12 Months)
Jingus replied to PILLS! PILLS! PILLS!'s topic in The WWE Folder
Kennedy didn't injure Cena. It wasn't his fault. Let me repeat that: Kennedy. Didn't. Injure. Cena. The prevailing theory seems to be "Kennedy didn't go up for the hiptoss". Bullshit. Go back and watch it in slow-motion, like I did. Kennedy runs the ropes, and before he gets to Cena he very clearly plants both of his feet and jumps for the bump. He didn't sandbag Cena one little bit. Watch the tape, it's plain as day. So don't go saying that Kennedy didn't cooperate and that it was thus his fault. The problem seemed to be that the two guys were just out of position for the hiptoss. Cena was too close to the middle of the ring, damn near in Kennedy's path, and Kennedy was running so fast that Cena had a hard time catching him and the timing was off. Cena was too close to being in Kennedy's way, Kennedy was running too fast, Cena fumbled the toss, and both of them were too close to the ropes. So instead of staying out of the guy's way and tossing Kennedy past him, Cena kinda threw Kennedy around his own body. Not to mention that Cena's hiptoss is always, um, "unique", you're really not supposed to fall down when you're hiptossing somebody. -
Comments which don't warrant a thread.

If memory serves, Day of the Dead's goremeister Tom Savini was a combat photographer in Vietnam, so it's conceivable he could've found that out firsthand somehow. -
You can get tickets to most any NFL game. Just prepared to get raped on the prices by whatever scalper standing out front you buy them from.

Definitely look for the 6-man from TNA with the SATs vs. Triple X. Apparently the office misplanned the structure of the show that night. Red & co. were main eventing, and they rather suddenly found out that they had to go twice as long as they'd planned for. Well, when in doubt, beat the shit out of Red for ten minutes, and that's exactly what XXX did. Hell of a match, and also the one where Don West literally stood up on top of the announce table and started screaming for the babyfaces. I hope Red heals up and can continue with his career, because he had as much raw talent as anyone else I've ever seen. I don't know if I ever exchanged more than two words with Red, then again, I don't know if anyone ever did, he was so damned shy and quiet. Also he had the weirdest hair, under that dewrag lurked a Carrottopesque nest of curly red locks. Strangest damn thing, that hair on a Puerto Rican.

What, where I live you mean? No, it's north of Frisco, just off 380. You go to UNT? I've been wanting to get back in school, and it seems the best bet, though I gotta sit and wait a while here before I'm legally a TX resident so I don't have to pay out-of-state tuition.
