Your stance on a wide stance.

It's a common propaganda tactic to accuse your victims of doing to you exactly what you're doing to them. A surprising number of people will buy it.

Indy wrestlers need to tone it down a notch

Oh, you mean the Alabama Slam or whatever it's called this week? I wasn't aware that it had an official name. Yeah, I know the flapjack or backdrop make no sense, because that just requires the type of mobility that Khali doesn't have. Then again, maybe he WAS completely unable to do the move and Ong died because of it. But the move on the fansite makes no sense at all, because it seems to be describing a backdrop where the bumper somehow cuts an extra flip in midair Jack Evans-styles and basically does a 450 to land on his face.

Waterwheel drop, what's that? The law firm that filed the wrongful death suit says it was a flapjack. Also, this fansite claims it was a flapjack, but then further muddles the issue by describing a move that not only definitely isn't a flapjack, but isn't a real wrestling move at all.
  4. Someone else posted this piece of a witness account, so I don't have a source on it, but if it's true it completely contradicts that version:
  5. Was the taser unnecessary force? Probably, but the dude was shoving the officers and physically resisting arrest, which is a universal no-no. He hijacked the forum, interrupting both Kerry and other audience members more than once, and started hollaring once his mic was cut off, so he definitely deserved to be escorted out. He never once did what they ordered him, to the point where they had to drag him down onto the ground because he kept struggling, and wouldn't even put his arms back so they could cuff him. Legally, they were in the right to do what they did, especially since they clearly gave him verbal warning to cease resisting or they'd use the taser, and he just kept screaming like an idiot. Personally I think that the half-dozen cops on top of him should've been able to grab one guy's arms and get them cuffed without the use of a cattle prod, but it's a grey area. Kerry on the other hand is a blatant liar for saying he didn't know the kid got tased. You could hear both the cops and him yelling about it on the video, it's not like a taser is a quiet stealthy weapon or anything, if you've ever heard one in person they're pretty goddamn loud.

That's one problem with the various Ong stories: the different versions don't match up. Like, what was the specific move that killed him? I've heard tree slam, flapjack, spinebuster, dominator, backdrop, and body slam. And if it WAS the tree slam, jesus, don't you think Khali should've maybe told the office that him using that as his finisher just might be a bad idea?

    WWE Folder sucks dick

Because his dad's name is John too, and the WWE truly thinks their fans are mongoloid idiots who would be confused by that. Someone noticed. Specifically, whoever told Khali to do Crush's old head-vice finish immediately after Adams died. 28. "Close the Benoit thread!" 29. We hate short title reigns. No wait, we hate long title reigns.

    "Oops, I Forgot"

There's two different levels of retconning going on here, though. In the first one, it's a blatant lie since it's happened three times on PPV, including the famous Cell match and the casket match which put HBK out of wrestling for years, and Lawler was announcing all those shows. But the second one? Yeah, the first ladder match in the WWF was Bret vs. Shawn, but it happened at a house show, occured before any of the current announce team joined the company, was never shown on television, and generally only seen by tape traders until the Ladder Match dvd. The Razor/Shawn one on the other hand was the most spotlighted match from the 10th anniversary Wrestlemania, and it'd be real easy to forget the real first ladder match and remember that one instead.

That's the first time I ever heard about any supposed preexisting injury with Ong. Even so, it's still the trainer's fault that he has two green rookies, one of them taller than anyone on the NBA roster and the other one on his first week of training, working together like that. Especially telling him to get back in there after hitting his head the first time, supposedly Ong didn't feel like it, but the drill instructor kept yelling at him until he did.

No, it was the trainer's fault. He had a green-as-grass 7'4" behemoth in there trying out moves he had no business doing, on first-week rookies who had no business taking them. And don't forget how after Ong hit his head the first time and felt sick, they told him "man up" and get back in there.

    101 reasons why

Matt Hardy was smart enough to be born with genetics that resulted in being of average height, thus deflecting the hoss hatred that many smarks seem to have for anyone above 6'3" or so.

You can work through a concussion, but Bret Hart would advise you not to. That is a sad thing about training class, depending on the instructor, sometimes they get downright sadistic in terms of the amount of damage they force the trainees to endure. I've heard many a horror story like HSJ's where some kid gets hurt and the trainer makes them continue. After all, it's not like some n00b has either the experience or the technical knowledge to realize what the difference is between regular pain and something much more serious.
  13. Night terrors, really, what type? Like the kind of hypnagogic hallucinations where you're kind of awake, but can't move? I get those every once in a while, and "not fun" is a fucking understatement.

    Please Read...

That is a kinda frightening thing that many people either don't know about or don't talk about: people still randomly drop dead of completely unknown mystery ailments that even the best medical treatment can't do anything about. Not enough to be statistically significant, but it happens. I've been laid up with an unknown disease that even the braintrusts at Vanderbilt Hospital (the best in the state, if not the entire southeastern region) had no idea what the fuck it was.

The OaO Raw Thread - 9/17/2007

Fuck You. Nashville is anything but "Hicksville". Do you live in Brentwood or something? Visit a local indy sometime just to see the amazingly creepy redneck types that crawl out of the woodwork for a Nashville wrestling event.

Nice attempt to no-sell getting completely pwn3d by Bix there, tiger. Bullshit. You have to make some pretty serious impact on someone's ear in order to rupture the drum. On the other hand you could have Bret Hart's worked punches "pound" on your ear for an hour straight and not be hurt at all. The headdrops are part of what everyone here's bitching about. Absolute bullshit and complete ignorance of the laws of physics and biology.

    OAO Unforgiven Thread

It's happened before (like the Undertaker vs. Dudleys match where they killed Paul Bearer, or HHH vs. HBK in the Cell while Benoit defended the belt against Kane), but it's usually a Hogan thing. Hogan got the main event in Wrestlemania 8, Summerslam 2005, and any number of WCW ppvs despite not having the belt at the time. EDIT: as for "what non title main events were WORSE", two specifically come to mind: Goldberg vs. Kronik and Hogan/Rodman vs. DDP/Malone.

    "Oops, I Forgot"

That's a real common one. "I've never seen anyone (verb) like this (noun) is doing!" It's the old greatest-night-in-the-history-of-our-sport hyperbole, and it usually tends to be the fault of the office, not the announcers, who commonly have crap like that forced upon them to say.

    Movie Theater etiquette

Or some ushers are just ill-suited for the job. I worked at a theater back when I was a shy 16-year-old kid, and it's amazing the number of times I had some angry idiot come grab me and try to get me to force grown adults or packs of rowdy kids to shut up.

So you missed the various points where I said the people & the media should be grilling the shit out of this town to try and change things? Then please point to an example of a society that has no racism at all.

2007: Most disastrous year in WWE history?

Really? Hmmm. Would explain why all his promos were pretaped, wouldn't it. Okay, rephrase: "Sean O'Haire killing his awesome new gimmick and then getting fired."

2007: Most disastrous year in WWE history?

Whoops. But yeah, around then was the time I stopped watching consistently. Especially since starting fall '02 I had a booking every Friday night so I missed most of the Smackdown Six stuff, and by fall '03 I was working three-day indy show weekends and felt burned out enough on wrestling by Monday that I didn't feel like watching Vince's crap too often.

2007: Most disastrous year in WWE history?

Hey Hoof, you forgot Trish/Bradshaw vs. Gayda/Nowinski. And I think we should mention Heel Coachman too. Plus, Eric goddamned Bischoff back on television for no discernable reason. And Austin's lackluster final run. And the bait-n-switch Chuckabilly gay wedding that the WWE actually claimed provided positive homosexual role models. And MONTHS of hearing the letters "HLA" while never actually seeing any. And Pregnant Piper. And Sean O'Haire's awesome gimmick being killed for no reason. And Brian Kendrick: streaker. And we shouldn't discount the early days of La Resistance back before they got "good". (Were Katie Vick and Al Wilson 02 or 03?) Man, 2003 sucked.

Hey assburger, you got anything resembling a point to add to the discussion instead of gratuitous snark? Alright, so it might not be, but that's just one small insignificant detail which doesn't matter. I'm still trying to fathom why you guys seem to think that beating up a guy in front of witnesses in a hostile environment is a wise smart.

But since the aforementioned local racists in this incident would never even attempt to bring a Fightin' Words case against a white kid, it's a moot point.
