all the black kids go to this school, all the white kids go to that school, all the latino kid go to another school...I'm sure there's more to it than that, I haven't been paying attention as my daughter will not be in the OPS system. i know what segregation IS, i was just wondering how the bill worked. meh, if i get that interested i'll just look it up. I know, I was just telling you what they were doing.

The OAO Raw Thread for 4/17/06

sorry if this has been covered before, but, are they going to keep trying with Joey Styles as the lead announcer on Raw? As I said before, I never liked Joey but he has really started to grow on me and he's definently new and fresh compared to Jim Ross and his schtick. and let me guess...now it's Edge's turn to get the last laugh on the others? -
where's #6?

he almost hit me in his car one day while i was walking downtown. I've always been a fan of his purple t-shirt with the pocket on it. he gets my vote if he ever runs for anything. the man is insane. have you heard the latest thing going on up here? He proposed a bill that basically brings backs segregation...and Omaha Public Schools passed it.

I'd like to give JP Losman at least one more season before I completely write him off as Rob Johnson ver. 2...he's shown here and there he can play, let's see what he does with a pretty damn decent receiving core of Evans, Price and Andre Davis.
-
I'd call it the "MTV Effect"....straying away from the product that put you on the map to begin with.
-
what types venues was he having low sales at? Big arenas or smaller ones? I think he'd do well playing smaller scale venues like that CBGB in NY (that's the name of it right?) to at least build upon his core audience some before thinking he can take on Wembley size crowds again. He really has to work on his rep over here. I don't think the band name alone will draw anymore.

Should UseTheSledgehammerUh have been banned?

God, it's been like a year and you're STILL whining about that? i think he was referring to the "alleged" Dam(o)n Yankee incarnation of AngleSault. -
enough with the out-of-country tours already...does he fear rejection over here or something?
-
put me down as a fan of the Spirit Squad...Kenny obviously, like everyone else, but I like Mikey more than Johnny...I don't think it's his wrestling ability as much as it is how goofy and into the character he is.

while I will admit, his banning was questionable, why is this dude warranting more than one thread? He really did suck, overall. -
don't make me call Nebraska senator Ernie Chambers! He'll try to find racism when there's none to be found!
-
*calls local congressman*

it doesn't even look like the same woman...you know how women still somewhat look the same even when they get fatter, older, etc.? That looks like an entirely different woman...it's shitty when people just let themselves fall to shit like that.

yeah, I wonder when they're actually going to start doing that. -
Oz started out good right from day one...hell the very first episode centered around Beecher's arrival and Dino Ortellani was one of the best episodes...I'd say the episode where Adebisi gets killed may be better just by a hair.

I liked Spree in New York...their biggest problem was not preparing for life after Ewing. He retired, ALlan Houston was getting injured constantly, it was going downhill fast...then Isiah came along and helped in down the rest of the way.
-
I watch it too, mainly for Ginnifer Goodwin and because Bill Paxton is one of my all time favorite actors...the story is so-so, but as previously mentioned, it's building up and getting better.
-
I agree...when anyone else constantly does stuff like that, they get warned, banned, whatever...but, oh, it's okay when he does it...bullshit. I don't give a fuck how smarky he is, that doesn't give him the right to derail a thread just because HE doesn't like it...oh, by the way Rudo, it's severly unfunny and oldhat and switching it up with cereal doesn't make it any funnier or newer.

you better not, motherfucker

Does this really need explained to you? Randy Orton, much like other new guys in WWE, has never really worked anywhere else for the most part. They've never been to a group where they had more freedom, in terms of both character as well as the in ring work. Any number of former big time players, some that are even still current, had this chance back in the day even if it was just by working in WCW, or wherever else, if even for a short while. Steve Austin pretty much had his style down before he entered a WWE ring, and his mic skills (WCW) and Stone Cold character (a little bit in WCW near the end, a lot in ECW) had already been set in place. Mick Foley had made a career before he ever went to WWE, working in all around the world, WCW, and ECW. Even Hulk Hogan was big time before joining up with Vince. He had a shot in WWE before AWA, but it was only when he was in AWA that he became huge - WWE just took what was there and expanded it a lot more than AWA ever could have. The only big time name that really stands out off the top of my head is The Rock, but even he worked USAW and other groups before going to WWE, and I'm sure he learned a thing or two by working with Jerry "the King" Lawler. Then don't forget that Rocky has the pure natural talents that RO only dreams about having. Let's say that Samoa Joe went to WWE before anywhere else really. Do you really think that he'd be the same type of worker right now? If he ever goes to WWE, a lot of the reason will be because of what he has showed that he can do. Sure we'd get a watered down version of him, but he'd be much more far along having worked in ROH and TNA than he would if he joined WWE straight up. Working TNA, or even Japan, would allow RO to become a better worker, and it would give him a chance to be himself on the stick. After doing that work, I'm sure WWE would take another look at him and bring him in, with him having learned a great deal. Then don't forget about his attitude problem. He wont last too long on the road in Japan, or working in TNA, if he pulls the same shit in those places as he has done in WWE. Back to his attitude and other problems though. Let's not forget that this goof went AWOL as well, so this isn't anything new at all. what successful examples are you basing this off of? By that I mean Wrestler A is pushed to the moon, push fails miserably, goes to another promotion for a few years and becomes super awesome over, comes back to the WWE and this time around the push succeeds? I'm not being condesending, that's a serious question. All I can really think of is Sid, perhaps.
