Former Mid-90s WWE Star Backstage At RAW

yeah, what CC said, why can't they push current talent and stop using has-beens? WWE Executive: Hey i got an idea, let's bring back a mildly over guy who's pushing 40 and totally forget about young guys with all the potential in the world who are way over like Shelton Benjamin! do you think the crowd will be all "who the hell is this guy?" -
great, I missed taping SSlam 2002, this is what I love about WWE 24/7...plus it's cheap as shit...
-
I knew after I posted that that someone would bring up Trainspotting! I actually liked his role in Velvet Goldmine, though it was one of the weirdest movies I have ever seen in my life...
-
isn't this the same guy who swore in congress, to the point he was ready to kill someone, that he didn't do the juice?
-
I love Kidman and McGregor's rendition of "Your Song"...I had no idea McGregor had the pipes he had in that movie!

I tried to read his comic..."Destrucity" went completely over my head... -
I was gonna say, didn't that movie even get nominated for Best Picture? also, I liked Down With Love, it was kinda weird, but unique...Big Fish is probably the best Ewan McGregor movie at this point...
-
Oasis Syndrome...hmmmm....bet we could start a thread that will grow many pages full of bands that suffer this...
-
oh that one is too easy...he'll be a face going against a heel champion...

That was a pretty good bit by Bret. Jericho's fake win was probably the best written angle I've ever seen What exactly happened in the PowerTrip vs Y2J/Benoit match? It seems to get mentioned a lot, but is that because all the smarks were just happy to see HHH get hurt? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> It was just a really, really well done match. Terrificly well-booked and exceptionally hot. It was a legitimately excellent tag team match. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Mikey nailed it right on the head...the crowd was just fucking rabid during this match...all 4 wrestlers were just hitting it on all cylinders from bell to bell...HHH nutted up and finished the match like a man, even enduring the Walls Of Jericho AFTER he tore the quad...I'm not a tag team fan, but damn was that a great match!
-
Wasn't that the same show? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I'm not sure...if it was, damn good show...
-
Cena was in thr 05 Draft. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Right, I was refering to when he came out and talked shit to both Bischoff and Heyman, the crowd went nuts, it was his first appearance ever on Raw...the entire show was pretty hot that night...

Off the top of my head, favorite Raw MOMENTS (there was never one whole episode that I liked): Bret's profanity laced promo "shooting" on Vince and the WWE after he lost the cage title match to Sid followed by a hot brawl with Austin. Bret's heel turn episode. HBK and Austin beating Bulldog and Owen Hart for the tag titles. Ahmed Johnson's heel turn joining the NOD. the NOD taking out Faarooq, Rock takes over. The Raw following WM14 where X-Pac returned and Kaentai debut. Jericho's fake title win. Jericho and Benoit beating Austin and HHH for the tag titles (the quad tearing match). Shelton Benjamin beating HHH twice on Raw. Batista finally, officially turning face by throwing HHH through a table. The 2004 draft night: Cena coming out on Raw for the first time ever, Benjamin and Haas breaking up and the respect they gave to each other, HHH "drafted to Smackdown", the hilarious reaction and his match with Guerrero.
-
to HTQ: That sounds pretty good actually...be sure to hit the WWE up for the money they owe you if they go that route...BUT, does Batista have the staying power, drawing power, etc. to hold on to the belt for what would be a year, with that plan? That could possibly throw a wrench into things, unless they hotshot it off of him for a month or two to, I dunno, Orton or somebody, say at. S. Series, then he wins it back at the Rumble? Follow his title win and Brock's rumble win with the staredown/and or beatdown...
-
with that being said, when do you debut Lesnar (say he signs a contract tomorrow)? as niskie pointed out, WM is a long ways away and I can't see them keeping those two apart for that long on a limited roster...Hold off on bringing him in until S. Series or sometime in December or what?

Ultimate Warrior speaks out about his upcoming DVD
Black Lushus replied to Downhome's topic in The WWE Folder
I already have the only matches of his that I still like on tape elsewhere: vs. Rude at WM5, Summerslam 89 and 90, vs. Hogan at WM6, vs. Slaughter at Rumble 91, vs. Savage at WM7 and Summerslam 92, I don't need this DVD...sure I was a mark for him in the 80s, but not so much anymore. Not enough to spend money on a DVD... -
Andrew, here in Omaha, anyway, there is a Gamestop in every mall and every plaza, a lot of which are within suitable walking distance for younger teens to stroll over to (I bet we have at least 10 or 15 of them, easy, then add our own local stores, about 5 of those, on top of that)...a lot of kids get allowances and money for doing chores, mowing lawns, paper routes, etc. They have money and they have the ability to go and buy things without their parents knowing. The BEST parent will keep track of every little dime Johnny has and can monitor that stuff...I'm here to tell you those parents are few and far between given that in today's world, if you're middle class, BOTH parents have to work fulltime hours so the little details like that get missed...I'm simply saying that if a rating system is put in place, be it movies, music or games, retailers should abide by them if it happens to be someone under the age of 17 trying to purchase them...no, no one should go to jail for selling to minors, but does it really hurt THAT much to ask a kid to see his ID? I mean honestly, I know you worked or used to work or whatever in a game shop, does it kill you THAT much to ask? Do you think the kid might snap and try to kick your ass or what?

What was he suppossed to do to past the time? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I dunno...job hunt? masturbate a lot? -
one of the coolest visuals ever was from the Raw where Bret, in a wheelchair, was running down HBK only to be superkicked right out of the chair... his heel turn speech after WM13 has to be one of my all-time favorites: "So from here on out, the American wrestling fans, from coast to coast, can KISS MY ASS!"
-
all you have to do is find one of the blue X save spots and go to the "Change Character" screen...scroll through the list of available X-Men and it will allow you to revive a fallen member for a fee... this game is pretty damn good, btw...
-
well yeah, but that was kinda the point...hearing Volkoff say the word "fuck" is fantastic!

^ didn't Goldberg's popularity somewhat die down once they started making him seem so beatable? And I don't mean in the sense of "man, I barely beat him" but more like "eh, he's not so hard to beat"...I may be wrong, but he didn't seem to be quite as popular anymore once that happened...
