no Ice Cube can't carry an entire film on his own, there are a ton of good actors who can't carry an entire film...Morgan Freeman and Bill Paxton are a couple that spring to mind...brilliant actors but their names alone aren't going to carry the flick... Mole hit it on the head by comparing Oshea Jackson to Robert DeNiro or hell even Al Pacino...rarely do those guys play something other than tough man with a potty mouth and bad attitude...hell even in Meet The Parents, DeNiro played a bad ass... what I meant by his range is that he obviously can pull off the dramatic roles well: street thug in Boyz In The Hood, very smart yet very angry college student in Higher Learning. comedy rolls: stoned slacker in Friday, struggling businessman in Barbershop and pretty much anyone can pull off action roles given the right script, FX and director...Anaconda was shit but he himself was good...Ghosts Of Mars (that was the title right?) was shit but he was good... what's the problem with Oshea's acting?

it's McGregor, not McGruder! and yes he's been the best part of the prequels by far, followed by Christopher Lee... to answer Spiff's post about Han no longer shooting first...you think it's takes away from his "scoundrelness"? I mean it was a split second difference between shots, it's not like he got into a huge showdown in the cantina initiated by Greedo...there are several instances where he shows that all he cares about is himself and his money...he won't help Obi-Wan and Luke until Obi-Wan bumps up the price tag...he won't go rescue Princess Leia until Luke brings up something about a reward...he tells Leia to hell with your rebellion I just want my money on their way to Yavin...as Luke is getting ready to battle the Death Star he tells him no thanks I got my cash I'm outta here...he hangs out in divebars and is disrepectful to everyone the whole movie...what more do you need to prove he's a scoundrel?

I agree...Ice Cube is actually, honestly a pretty decent actor who has shown some range...sure it's not a wide range, but he's covered comedy, drama and action and has done fairly well...his movies aren't always the best, but he himself usually shines in everything he's in...now Vin Diesel? eh...

Like I've said in previous posts, it's been so long since I've seen the originals I don't even notice anything but the OBVIOUS changes (Hayden Christiansen, the ridiculous Jabba's Palace dance sequence, the Emperor dialogue change in ESB)...shit like who shot first, music changes, graphic additions etc. matter little to me...

what about guys like Peter Weller, Lou Diamond Phillips, Kiefer Sutherland (until 24 came out) and Rutger Hauer, big in the 80s, straight to video in the 90s...especially Rutger Hauer, his role as Roy Batty in Blade Runner is up in my top 10 of all time movie villians and he really hasn't done shit since... EDIT: Phillips was great in the Big Hit, but the movie sucked so...
