Phil Mickelson and Zach Johnson were both at Fenway Saturday, when Clay Bucholz threw a no-hitter, though they've routinely been calling him "The youngster" or "that young pitcher" on NBC this afternoon.

Tiger makes birdie at 7, but Phil matches, and retains his 3-shot lead over Tiger (along with Steve Stricker and my boy Aaron Baddely), and that makes it two over Aaron Oberholser. Not too get too far ahead, but would this be the first time Phil beat Tiger head-to-head in the final round? Tiger certainly came out on top in the 01 Masters, 03 Buick, and 05 CA. I don't recall them ever being paired together during a final round.

More from Cornette: Check out the sincerity in his voice here. Good for him. The following week. I didn't remember this at all.

NHL Preseason and Predictions - 2007-08

I'll let it fizzle before I roll the bones. (I've been singing that for like two weeks.) What're your picks, by the way? I'm also hoping Nskie makes his picks. -

Not that there's anything wrong with CC's thread, but some sort of conference standings prediction thread is in order when this starts to fizzle. -

That's just money in the bank. They're way deeper than they get credit for. They've still got eight players returning with 15 or more goals, and three players with PPG status. Briere and Drury are, no doubt, huge losses, but there's still more than enough talent on the team to get them to the spring dance, even if they won't waltz in like they have the last two seasons. Imagine if Havlat could stay healthy. I agree with Max, though. Give them a year. -

But they'll win about 10 more games than the Habs. -
Yeah, that's true. Just throwing it out there.

I'm probably gonna sound pretty arrogant saying this, but casual sports fans have been pissing me off a lot lately. Why I'm better than most: I'm a pretty casual baseball fan. I can name the better teams, some of the better players, etc. throughout the league, but essentially just follow the Jays. I will not however, do the following: "Who's your favourite player?" " Oh, I don't know any of the players, really" Or, this one, which is a bajillion times more irritating, especially at work, since the only Habs fans there are me, and one of the assistant managers. As such, my tattoo is often a hot topic of discussion. "You have a Habs tattoo? Why? They suck!" I suppose this relates more to my previous rant about misuse of the word 'suck', but if you like a team that's not better, or can't even name a player on the team that's supposedly so much better than mine, or DON'T EVEN REALLY LIKE HOCKEY, don't comment on my ink. -
67 Masters champ Gay Brewer?

Why wouldn't you go to the PGA? Theyear I attended the Canadian Open, it could have been called the "Shit Golfer Invitational". Even so, it was an awesome experience. I went on a Wednesday, so practise round. Lots of pictures, the course wasn't too packed, save the 10 minutes I spent watching Mike Weir finishing up and heading back inside, and because it wasn't quite the tournament yet, the players were really talkative and personable. I got some autographs, and my dad had this thing about me not outright asking for pictures with players, so he'd have me, say, stand off to the side and he'd creatively take some pics that way. (It looks like Jim Furyk is chewing me out in one of them). Aaron Baddely passed us near the beer tent, and my dad said "Go run up near him, and I'll get a pic of you two near him". The subsequent thunder of my grandfather and I running after him caused him to turn around, and he instead offered a pic and an autograph, and he was even a good sport about my grandfather's poor-taste comment about Steve Irwin's death two days prior. I don't wanna stereotype American sports fans or anything, but I would think, Danville, that as long as you were pulling for Europe, and not against the US, you'd be fine.

For this to happen, this will need to happen first, not after the season. -

1. Who will win the Hart Trophy? Crosby 2. Who will win the Vezina Trophy? Luongo 3. Who will win the Calder Trophy? Jack Johnson. 4. Who will win the Art Ross Trophy? Crosby 5. Who will win the Richard Trophy? Heatley 6. What team had the best offseason? Philly, by just a little over St. Louis and New York 7. What team had the worst offseason? Nashville 8. Which team will be the most improved over last year? Florida. Vokoun was always kind of overlooked in Nashville, I think we're about to see how good he actually is. Think Luongo, but with a better team in front of him. 9. Which team will be the biggest disappointment? I'm gonna say Buffalo with an asterisk. I think they'll still get into the playoffs, but they'll have to struggle to get there, which is in pretty stark contrast to how good they've been the last 18 months. 10. What was the best offseason move? The Rangers getting Drury and Gomez. It was hardly the best move, but I'm absolutely thrilled with Souray being replaced by Hamrlik. 11. What was the worst offseason move? Edmonton's acquisition of Penner. 12. Who will make the playoffs that didn't last year? Kings, Avs, Flyers, Leafs, Panthers 13. Who will not make the playoffs that did last year? Stars, Predators, Thrashers, Bolts, Islanders 14. Who would make your All-NHL first team? Ovechkin-Crosby-Heatley, Lidstrom-Niedermayer, Luongo 15. Who will be the division winners? Ducks, Wings, Avalanche, Sens, Penguins, Panthers 16. Eastern Conference Final: Ottawa over Pittsburgh. Christ, that'd be good hockey. 17. Western Conference Final: Detroit over Anaheim 18. Stanley Cup Final: Ottawa over Detroit 19. Who will win the Conn Smythe Trophy? Heatley 20. Make one bold prediction. Only Florida represents the Southeast in the playoffs. -
This topic title reminds me of "That Show Sucked!" from 22 Minutes.

A guy I talked to was mixed about his Ryder Cup attendance in 2004. He said the atmosphere was great with so much solidarity and patriotism, especially with the amount of people there, and the heritage, tradition, and prestige of the event. On the other hand, he said the tournament itself was awful to attend because it was so packed. That many patrons, when there's, at best, 24 or so players on the course, made for a hell of a time getting around and the potential for a long and hot day, which made plenty of sense to me. That said, I'd jump at the chance, too. Good luck in the lottery.

I can honestly say it will. Having seen one on display for hours at a time, it's unreal the difference it makes as far as eye strain. In fact, one of the TV's I was looking at in my price range was a Philips at my Wal*mart, but no ambilight de-sold me on it. I don't recall how much more the price jump was between the different models, but my best recollection was a hundred or so. If cost isn't an issue, it's really a sweet, sweet feature. This year's Phlips models also included a sweet out-of-the-box feature, in which they show eight screens, each with 2 images, on one each half of the screen. Pick the ones you like better, and it'll auto adjust the colour settings, etc., to your liking.

Fuck the heck. How can you be excited about these "playoffs". The FedEx Thingy is the most poorly thought up idea ever. EVER. There's no closure. What does this even prove. The top points finisher of 4 tournaments... after the slams, and WGC, and tournaments people actually care about... oh, fuck it. And the entire field doesn't even know what the fuck is going on, let alone any fans. It gets even better next year with the Ryder Cup taking place the immediate week after this disaster. Explain to me how there's no closure instead of bitching about it. I also pointed out it needed fine tuning. Gonna ask what the point of the Stanley Cup is next? "Oh, six weeks of hockey, best record of that span wins a trophy...why?" This isn't GameFaqs, new guy. Back your shit up. Edit: Banned already. Didn't see that one coming.

1) Who was the Kommandant? My buddy just watched the Truth Commission debut on 24/7, but I don't recall anyone ever managing them but Jackyl. Follow-up: When did he debut? Was it with the two guys from Stern (Hank the Dwarf or whatever)? When did he take over for the Kommandant....Is it possible they're the same guy? Why did he leave the WWE? I guess it was on horrible terms, but I don't know the story there. It's too bad, as he's one of, if not outright, my favourite talkers ever.
-
Just out of curiosity, where are these listed?
-
Well, I'll be damned, it is....or was, yesterday. I'm fucked if these two go head to head in the Best Of tourney in the spring. Happy UnBirthday (long story) to the both of you.

The Things That Anger You Thread.

Some wrestlers do that. Mostly indy guys who've been in for more than a year or two but less than ten. But I've never met a non-worker who was quite that sad. It's really funny when non-fans who are friends of fans who use this "real life smark talk" start using it too. I know a few people like that. I know! A co-worker has grossly mis-used my aforementioned "mark-out". Examples: Referring to a faulty RCA Home Theatre that was returned. "Yeah, man, they aren't well made. One of these came back, marking out, losing power." Telling a third co-worker about the lack of work they did a night before I was due in the following morning. "Look at this mess! Brian's gonna mark out!" -
I had thought that today; Started 1st of September, as I recall, last year.
-
Elaborate; - Being a prick doesn't ruin sports. It's not like anyone else ever, say, charged waaaay to much for an autograph, or was curt to a member of the mdeia. - For better or for worse, baseball's got a tonne of print and airtime this year, and look at the attendance over the last 6 months or so. Is this meant to be the steroids thing again?

I use 'mark-out' quite a bit more than I need to.
