Stricker's win at the Barclay's moves him into the lead for the Cup. PLAYER POINTS Steve Stricker 104,950 K.J. Choi 102,900 Rory Sabbatini 100,650 Tiger Woods 100,000 Phil Mickelson 99,613 Some notables knocked out from the first round include Ryan Palmer, Shigeki Maryuma, Jesper Parnevik, and former major winners Bob Tway and Corey Pavin. And on to the Deutsche Bank, which continues its tradition of fucking up my internal clock by starting on Friday every year. By Labour Day evening, only 70 will remain.

Canada takes the early lead in the SuperSeries with a 4-2 win this morning, but this takes a backseat. CC, what's the story on your avatar?

But no one died....except the Leafs' Cup chances. I got nothin.

Surprisingly indiffrerent. I was proud when Morneau won the MVP last year. Merely saying he's Canadian at every at bat doesn't overwhelm me with pride, but it doesn't shame me or anything, either. I don't really notice it being said, to be honest.

I need to share this: My buddy has a modded Xbox. We played RBI Baseball on it this afternnon. I threw a no-hitter with Nolan Ryan. -

I'm terrified of how often this might happen. Additionally true with Adam Sandler. I can't believe that's still your signature. Fucking awesome. I giggle like hell every time I see it. Don't type what your job is for the next few weeks here, or you'll get asked at least twice "Oh, so that was your vocation?" -
I'm loving the '18 for 21' promotion Blue is running this summer. I've actually bought something other than James Ready (24 for 24) over the last 4 months. Edit: I'm not sure the Americans who read this appreciate how lucky they are to have such cheap beer (notice my joke restraint). "Labatt's Blue - As Canadian as High Taxes!"

Because Superstar sucks. To each his own, and I know it's only a matter of opinion, but IMO, superstar mode just isn't fun. (That is, if 08 is like 07 seeing as I haven't played 08 yet) It's not fun not being able to control the team. And if the team doesn't want to involve you in any of the plays, well you're screwed. (For example, I was a WR my first superstar mode, and the fuckers would always throw to the left side of the field no matter what, even when I was wide open on the other...) When I was RB the team seemed to mostly pick passing plays, or horrible plays that would pretty much make me run into the heavy covered side of the field. And as a QB I hated the camera angle. Just didn't feel the same. All in all, the fact that anyone would forego franchise to play Superstar is baffling to me. Every word of this is true. I passed on the opportunity of nearly half of Madden 07's achievements on these grounds,

If you're talking about "If Everyone Cared", yeah it is. I hated it for the first few weeks, but it grew on me. Being a hippie, I've always liked the video.

I'm really really really excited for these playoffs. I could easily watch golf every day, but it's cool to see some kind of closure. It needs some fine tuning, but I like Finchem's comment about not knowing how/what to change till its been completed. I'm sure I could come up with a few, but it's not like this was just slapped together either. My only big concern is that more focus will be given to who's missing the cut than who's winning the tournament, which should never be the case. I suppose I'm being semi-hypocrtical about my last statement, as I don't remember who won the tournament (2005 Byron Nelson) that Tiger Woods' cut streak ended. Interestingly (and kind of along the same lines) - I won a beer last year from the guy who runs the golf pool I'm in. He bet I wouldn't remember who won the tournament that Anika missed the cut in (Kenny Perry - 2003 Colonial/Crowne Plaza Invitational)

Wrestling shirts you'd never wear in public.
CanadianGuitarist replied to a topic in General Wrestling
Come to think of it, I have three shirts, all of which I wear under different circumstances. My Lance Storm tee is from April 2000. I still wore it the second most of my tees until this May, when I went to Raw. I needed to be a crowd face to my buddy's being a heel (bringing a Yankee flag), and cut the sleeves of to expose my Hitman tattoo. (Hitman tat - how's that for answering the question?) It's an around the house/sport shirt now. I have an EC Fn W shirt that I bought in September 2000, which I wear the most frequently of my tees, which is probably once every 10-15 days. I can get away with wearing when I go to work in electronics at Wal*Mart (which we've been calling the ECW since 2004). Finally, the one I don't usually wear is a C1983 British Bulldogs white...I wouldn't quite call it a tee. It's actually pretty low cut, in the sense I'd probably be called a floosie if I were a girl wearing it. Typing that, it dawned upon me how much weight I've put on since my dad gave it to me in 2004. Maybe my new tits have a role in it. -

Bret Hart. I'm writing this from a mark's standpoint: This is especially true when * is listed. Top 5: 1. The image of Austin in the sharpshooter at WM13. I haaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaated it Austin when I was a mark.* 2. Reforming the Hart Foundation in 97 - in particular, putting Michaels in the sharpshooter around the pole.* 3. "American wrestling fans can kiss my ass"/ 4. Defeating Yokozuna at Wrestlemania 10 5. This promo The Raw in Halifax in 97, if I'm not mistaken. Honourable mention to his wins at Wrestlemania 8 and Summerslam 91 & 97. Bottom 5: 1. You know it. 2. Michaels' superkick out of the wheelchair* 3. Losing the HBK at Wrestlemania 12 4. Losing to Owen at Wrestlemania 10* 5. Losing the title to Sid the day after Final Four. Honourable mention to the split-up at the Royal Rumble 94, his loss to Backlund at Survivor Series 94, and his loss to Sid on the last Raw before Wrestlemania 13.

My mother's making 45 a year, but she just started her residency. She's only 3 months out of med school, but told me she'd be making 'substantially' more money when she finished in two years. She made 78 as a nurse, so I assume what she'd make in 2 years is pretty close to six figures.

Tough to go against Singh, the defending champ, who's probably more motivated than anyone else to win the first FedEx Cup.

The Things That Anger You Thread.

No, that wasn't what I meant. A no-hitter is better than pretty good, regardless of limbs possessed. Lemme try another example. Say a first-time golfer happens to drive it 350 yards, and his teacher says "That's very good for a first time". 350 yards is good for anyone, regardless of how long they've played. -
What do you completely and utterly suck at?

Single spacing at TSM. I've noticed I often type my posts this way. Can't quite put my finger on it. -

I've probably lamented about this before; but it's been pissing me off a lot more than normal lately: Misuse of the word "considering", and nearly all uses of "especially since" and "not bad for". Examples: "Jim Abbott once threw a no-hitter. That's pretty good considering he had one arm." I can't quite express this properly, but hopefully my point's been made. -
I liked the contrast ratio, I liked the inputs on it, and the place I'm buying it from allows me to not pay for a year, save taxes and admin fee. This upped my budget substantially, so why not go balls-deep? My original goal was to watch the 2008 Masters in HD, but with the deal Bell has right now on HD upgrades, I figured why not?
-
The TV I'm going with I can't really afford it, but I'll be damned if I can't watch the NFL in HD this season. Incidentally, what's the difference between dynamic and true contrast ratio?

Looks like Belfour's gonna be playing in Sweden this season.

I'm sure this'll surprise anyone who knows where I stand on topics like this, but I'm strongly in favour of two-tier healthcare. If it eliminates wait times and generally makes things run more smoothly and efficiently, what's the harm? I don't know how easy it would be to implement, but I think, if nothing else, the extra money would also encourage more doctors to begin practising, or more to enter med school. There's a staggering number of immigrants with PhD's that can't practise for whatever reason - how many more doctors will we need in 15 or 20 years when the baby boomers start getting sick?
