It's essentially been all addressed by now, but there's not too much to driving. Outside of a little technique, such as, say, parallel parking, most of it is common sense. Once you get a little comfortable behind the wheel, you'll be fine. Everyone's nervous the first few times, I'd say, but easy to shake off. As for your test, work on parallels, stopping distance, and following distance. Those all fell through the cracks between my G2 and G test.

Anyone else notice that during the commercial for Ghost Rider, they're calling it 'HD Blu-Ray'?

He's only ever really had the one good British showing, but I don't see him withdrawing from a major. Unfortunate he won't be playing this week (though he's entered), as a tourney like this could use a few big names considering where it is on the tour's schedule, a tournament Phil also won twice.

A buddy of mine called for this during the Ryder Cup last year, and I'll re-iterarte again now. How much difference would Ames instead of JJ Henry make? And even that's no lock.

There was a period in the golf thread, when, along with Canadian Chris' signature, something like 15 posts in a row had a Bettman picture. Timmonen and Hartnell have both officially signed.

My stepdad got a 57 inch rear-projection about 18 months ago. He did not have cable or satellite of any kind for the first 6 months of owning his new TV.

I'll agree to that. Julien, while he wasn't outstanding in either Montreal or New Jersey, was certainly effective.

I didn't realise Murray and Muckler didn't get along. I'm going to miss, very much, hearing Murray interviewed as often.

You're kind of all over the place there. I'm sure Chris will handle the rest of the Emery thing, but he did have a respectable G.A.A. (2.47), SP (.919) and 5 shutouts, and given who the other option was for Ottawa..... Assuming you're actually talking about Toronto in the second and third statements, Belfour? Come on. You and Barron are the only people on the planet who can see logic in that. Joseph, on the other hand, would be interesting. In addition to playing for far less money now, he still looked awfully good at times, was a crowd favourite in Toronto, and had a good repoire with many guys who still play for Hogtown. Also, Antropov still is in Toronto. And finally, Fuck Aki Berg. Interesting developments in Nashville, with Philly giving back its first round pick, and acquiring the rights, for two more weeks, for Hartnell and Timmonen. Learn more here

^ Yes. I'm so on board for that after not really liking onions for the better part of my life. Which leads nicely into my asking this question of the Canucks here: Anyone try the Spicy Jack Burger from Harvey's? While it was fantastic, it wasn't really hot at all on level 2.

99.9 a litre last Tuesday in Beamsville.

17, as expected, turned out to be a pretty pivotal hole. It directly cost Furyk, essentially cost Tiger, and damn near cost Cabrera. Alas, Angel is the first Argentine (or South American of any nationality, right?) since diVicenzo in 1967 to win a major. This should put even more pressure on Mike Weir and Stephen Ames, who both had pretty respectable weeks, with the President's Cup 3 months away.

I had stopped watching the WWE almost completely by this point. Since this is the first time I've heard this, that's fucking awesome.

Blackzilla?

I like this a lot. It'd be nice if Cullimore's money against the cap was put towards Souray, but the biggest detractor of the Habs' success is gone.

Good call. He's in the second-to-last group with Justin Rose. I can really see Aaron Baddeley winning this tournament. He's not going to be intimidated by being in the final pairing or playing with Tiger -- this is a guy who won the Australian Open as an amateur when he was 18 years old. And also at 19. He's got a few wins under his belt on the PGA Tour now, so I'd say he's ready. Tiger, as you're going to hear in the next 18 hours alot, has never won a major without at least a share of the 54-hole lead. He's gotta break that sooner or later.

You can't say that on TV!

Angel seems due. He seems to always kind of show up at the majors, doesn't he? Even with his length, I don't like Watson's chances either. I know this is contradicting of my Zach Johnson comment earlier in the week, but if you look at the pedigree of the players who stumbled on Sunday afternoon last year, where does Bubba fit in with a handful of major winners, Ryder Cuppers, and Order-of-Merit winners? The physical and mental beating these guys are going to take on the course is really unlike any other tournament.

Say that about anyone who can't consistently hit the fairway this week. It's magnified with Phil's wrist though, absolutely.
-
The greens are insane from what I'm seeing. Even by tour-course standards, there's all kinds of sidehill lies, as if there's no flat putts anywhere on the course.

I've got a few ideas from running through this thread, but does anyone have any suggestions for a good (and I use that loosely) vegetarian stir-fry?

As silly as it seems to predict a former champion to miss the cut....things aren't exactly right on track for Els' three-year plan, are they?
-
I've mentioned this a few times now, but I thought he'd make a run at KW before Hamilton (which is hardly to say it makes more sense than Steeltown). Stop me if I'm wrong, but wasn't there a Board of Governors meeting upcoming, in which they were going to look at the rule that says, for lack of a better explanation, you have to pay royalties to a team within 80 km?

I'm gonna go with Furyk. Perfect game for this course, past US Open champion, and hometown boy. I think we can write off Phil with his wrist injury. I don't want to be the one to play this card, but Tiger looked pretty average (by his standards, at least) in The Players and the Memorial. Coupled with the way Zach Johnson, a first-time major winner, held his composure on Masters Sunday with Tiger breathing down his neck....I'm inclined to pick the field this week.

Picks? And, while I don't necessarily dislike Johnny Miller, I have very little patience for him. I'm almost certain I will hate him by Sunday afternoon.
