I danced around this in the 360 thread in the Video Games folder as well. Customer today said they wanted to connect their TV to a PC. I told them they needed a 15-pin VGA cable, which we inexplicably don't carry. Customer said they had heard an S-video cable would also work.....news to me (as I told them), but I'm second-guessing myself now. The more I thought of it, my laptop does have something about the size of an S-video (and it's not PS2). If it does the same trick, can I assume VGA is akin to HDMI in the cable hierachy?

I've seen you mention that a few times now...where's the VGA port on the 360? Is it a separate add-on accessory (a la HD DVD)? I've never actually used a VGA cable (though my laptop has the port for one, and the TV I'm purchasing in the fall does as well)...What does it do, other than connecting a PC to a TV?

I don't see anything wrong with that idea either; Every other 2k game is 20 bucks, there's no need to think the price tag would scare people off; It could compete, not realistically with Madden, but with the Arena Football series, logically. The rules, save maybe the 3-down rule, aren't wacky enough to scare anyone away. And I'm awfully impressed you remembered all the American expansion teams. I came up with Baltimore Stallions and a franchise in Sacremento, and I was licked.

I inexplicably have a 5-year term life insurance worth $25,000. I wound up with it 2 years ago(edit: Wow, it's already 3), when I was told by my agent that I could essentially get it for free thanks to multi-line discount. I'm told I can borrow against it on the following conditions: 1) I have to pay it back, even though I've paid into it 2) If I borrow, say, $5,000 off the $25,000, my beneficiary would only receive $20,000. I called and asked if borrowing against it was possible, but I was told there was no cash value, but by the agent's secretary, not the agent himself. Anyone ever done this? What can I expect? There's two types of life insurance, aren't there? Term and something else? What happens to the $25,000 in 2 years when I'm done paying the 5-year term? Does it just sit until I die or get dismembered? Can I borrow against it then? Does it accumulate interest? Fun sidenote: When I was going through the application, my agent asked me if I smoked weed or drank. I seldom blaze anymore, but did quite a bit in college, and I drank a lot of beer then and still do now. I blatantly lied and said I didn't, and he didn't buy it. My acceptance letter says, and this is a quote: "The decision of approval for this insurance is because of excessive drug and alcohol use".

Does the elite bundle's HDMI upconvert DVD's, or is it just meant to replace the component cables?
-
No one's depending on me. The pitch he made upon me was that I'd essentially be getting it for free, since the life, compounding with my car, gave me a multi-line discount. It's certainly term...what happens in 5 years? The $25,000 just sits until I die? Is it possible to still apply for whole insurance as you described if I already have term? I'd like to maybe get 10 grand or so to put a down payment on a house and pay some bills off....is it borderline fraud to apply for whole then just borrow against it? Does a credit check or anything come into play? Does it effect my credit to borrow?

Anyone see the Bolts-Devils game tonight? I walked into Tortorella's "press conference" in which he told a reporter to audibly 'get the fuck out of here', and said reported clearly said "Fuck you" on camera to him. When it was over, Ron MacLean mentioned the opposite sides of the spectrum of Tortorella and Joni Mitchell....? Sabres wrap it up, but I'll leave that to Leena.

A too-many-men of all things, could be the end to this game. They've killed off 40 seconds pretty effortlessly, but.... Edit: It WAS the end. Flood control hadn't even disabled. Game 5 Saturday night.

Even Jim Hughson is unflappable. I've lost count of "Great saaaaave Luongggggo".

What a fucking game on the Left Coast. Turco just made an unreal save on a waiting-in-front Daniel Sedin, and Luongo stumbled off a Barnes shot, but it trickled wide. Check out, hell, I don't even remember which Star, almost scoring on his own net on a delayed penalty from behind Luongo. It'll certainly be on Sportcentre tonight, provided this game ends.

I'm god damned glad I'm calling in sick to work to play golf tomorrow, as I'll be up till probably 4 or 5 watching the Nucks/Stars game. There will simply not be a goal.

You're my comrade, Bacon...but you're not used to that by now?

See, now I can get 99% on expert on that one. Jordan is just...Fuck Jordan. I haven't got up that far yet, and I know before Jordan, songs like YYZ and Hangar 18 is gonna kill me. I didn't have much trouble with either of them on medium. I struggled like hell with Pyschobilly Freakout, however. I'm gonna attribute the difference to how much I knew the songs you mentioned before playing.

The fuck did you see that? I blew the pic up and turned that picture into a Magic Eye, and I couldn't decipher anything. On history and Cup knowledge, I know you're in the ballpark, but; What I did notice was her right thumb on the cup she's holding looks an awful lot like a tiny johnson.

A quick switch to The Score Tonight offered me this stat: In their last 51 games (playoffs and reg season combined): The Senators are 35-8-8. 761 WP. Wow. Bertuzzi has 2 points tonight, a goal and a assist, but Langkow's got 2 goals of his own, and Tanguay and my boy Iginla each have 2 helpers. 3-2 Flames with 30 to play.

Was that a "You suck Turco, you suck" chant I just heard? I've got a Canadian sweep on my ProLine tonight.

Good call, LaParkaMarka I'll also second the 4-5 love, as Ottawa will surely be flying high by elmimating (if they do so) a team that's pretty well been playing with nothing to lose all season. And speaking of Ottawa, The Sun (and linked by TSN's Ice Chips) reports that Redden could be on his way out to Edmonton, thanks to the presence of MacT and Huddy at Sens games recently, coupled with the improvement of Corvo and Volchenkov (who was just re-signed, mind you).

As if the goal taken away (and it was a goal, that whistle went 3 seconds after the puck was in) wasn't sure enough, Pominville's goal ten seconds later locks this up for Buffalo tonight. Edit: Gord Miller just referenced Pominville's series winner over the Sens last year. Awful. I'm still having nightmares over how that occured, and I'm not a Sens fan. That was straight out of a video game.

I'd even make the case (although I'll look more into this) that Buffalo's play is not poor, but that they need more even strength goals. Goals primarily by defencemen don't neccesarily mean poor play by forwards, but I think that' s being a little overlooked since Buffalo was expected to win 20-1 each game. Edit: Well, they have outshot Long Island in all 3. Their PP is an impressive 4-16. Forwards couuuuuuuuuuuld have more goals, but 35 shots? A lot of that should be attributed to Dipietro (and Dubie to some degree). Baron's claim holds water, but, civil-war style, I'm with Leena. Double edit: IGINLA! 3-2 Flames!

I almost had to punch myself, as my hatred for the Lightning seems to be outweighing my "meh" for the Devils. I'm sure if I ran into anyone from this board, they'd probably stone me or something. Not at all. I'll agree to a T. I like a handful of players on the Lightning, but not the team. I'm with you and CC on this one.

I was just told by a buddy that Kovalchuk fought Avery at the end of the Rangers drubbing of the Thrash, 7-0. I just got in, but have the Score Tonight on now.

The pace had been pretty good for about five or six minutes in the third, until that call.

So, if you could suffer amenesia from any angle, or the on-screen work of any wrestler, what/who would it be? Even with WWE 24/7, I don't think I fully appreciate how revolutionary and cool the nWo was at its time. On the other side of the coin, I was too big a mark in his heyday to understand how charismatic and great on the mic the Rock was. A third variable could be an angle being just so fantastic and engrossing you'd like to see it again from scratch....say, The New Hart Foundation in the summer of 97. So, name a few? I just gave my picks, but feel free to answer one or two (instead of all 3), or expand in any way you like.

Also "wipe, wipe, wipe, wipe".
