Conversely, I've pulled for the Sabres many times this month (not necessarily against the Leafs), and that's equally weird.

    Best PPV Theme Song....

I really liked the theme for WWF Superstars C1998. Ultimately, my answer is pretty simple: Pump it up, pump it up, pump it up, pump it up.

You insulted the man's Internet connection.... On the subject of DVR's, anyone heard about the XBOX 360 having DVR capbilities? I'm told it's in the works.

    Worst Wrestlemania Matches

Although I am inclined to agree with the Roberts-Martel blindfold, my first instinct was Taker-Bundy, so let's go with that.

Damn I gotta start watching PTI again. This afternoon's job interview, be damned. What a freakin fight in Hogtown. Not surprisingly, Belak and Jansen. Not so suprisingly, ten minutes in. They didnt even hit each other or try and get position, the fight just kinda spurned itself (figuratively, Kaberle was obviously the reason). Over a minute the two went at it.

I suppose it could be what you meant to put, Muggy, but your gif is actually a stalemate and not Czech-mate.

    PGA Tour - March

Here's a factoid for ya: The last two times it was held on Easter Sunday, a first-time major winner slipped on a green coat: O Meara in 98 and Philly Mick in 04. Im trying to talk all my family into an Easter Saturday supper, or Easter Sunday lunch or brunch. Most of the men are onside with this, but we're arranging plans three weeks ahead of time, which is virtually unheard of.

Dude, what the hell makes you think that has anything to do with food? Neither did the Rod Stewart thing; but that was funny. Take it to the CS, Kresh.

    Totally unintentional racism.

It's techincally bigotry and not racism, but a customer came into WalMart about a year ago and told me: Customer: I just bought a fantastic home theatre, all kinds of speakers, DVD player; Whats a good movie to watch on it? Show me some action movies! Me: Well, how about Total Recall? Terminator Series? Generic good guy-bad guy stuff? C: Meh. M: *pics up Day After Tomorrow*. How bout this, the Day After Tomorrow? C: What's it about? M: Armageddon. New York, Washington, America - they take a beating from tidal waves and earthquakes. It's awesome. I just discussed this in the sports folder; a buddy of mine always liked that The Masters golf tournament was played in a state that was part of the Confederacy.

    And we're two freakin weeks away from the Masters, my favourite sporting event of the year. Coupled with baseball season starting and Wrestlemania, that's a great fucking seven-day span. Intriguing lead-up to this week's WGC at Doral (CA Championship???), with Tiger stumbling on the weekend at a course he's owned before; but he's also had quite a bit of success at Doral, which should add a little spark in his last tourney before Augusta, ditto for Phil;

Max, I havent seen SportsCentre since Friday morning...what's the Bruins' mood like? Eager to come out firing in the home and home against the Habs? Deflated from the Rangers loss? The Habs/Bruins and Isles/Bolts are HUGE tomorrow, and even bigger with the Rangers winning again tonight. The greatness of it has to be compounded by how well Pittsburgh has been playing lately.

    Prepaid Cell Phones

A quick rundown, but figures will almost certainl vary(due to my being Canadian and using their figures): Pay As You Go means you're buying the phone outright as opposed to a contract, in which you essentially lease the phone. We carry three providers at my Wal*mart, and there's different rate plans, expiry dates and coverage for both (I'll be using the three aforementioned carriers as examples, to give you an idea). Telus offers 3 or 4 different phones, and they range from 75-225 dollars, depening on features. The 75 dollar model has basic features like a speakerphone, the higher end models offer MP3 players, cameras etc. The same concept applies to Rogers and Virgin (and presumably, Cingular, Verizon, etc.). Where the differences come into play are: -Coverage -Rates Coverage is dependant on towers in your area...www.howstuffworks.com will explain the science of this infinitely better than I can. Almost every display will have a map to give you an idea of which has the best coverage. Rates (again using my WalMart example) are based on the denomination of card, and provider. Telus offers 10,25 and 50 dollar cards, and they'll charge 40, 35, and 30 cents a minute respectively for those cards. Cards will expire 30 days after 'topping up' on the 10 dollar, and 60 days on the greater two. Virgin offers a plan of 25 cents a minute all the time. Rogers rate is always 33 cents a minute (I believe), also available in 10,25 and 50 dollar cards. Also, if you buy a new card before the old one expires, remaining minutes will rollover. Example: You buy a 10 dollar card (35 minutes of time, roughly) on April 1, which will expire May 1. When you buy a new card on April 25, you still have 3 dollars left unused. You'll then have 13 dollars of credit. If in the event you let your account lapse, you'll usually have 90 days to re-fill it or it'll be deleted. Wow, that's quite a spiel I went on. Sorry if it sounded condescending or anything; if there's anything else you'd like to know, fire away.

    The Old School questions thread

I'm re-watching Wrestlemania 14, and JR said "19,000 fans made this, at a total of 1,XXX,000 dollars box office, made this the highest grossing event in the history of Boston".....How much truth is there to that, if any? The numbers JR gave works out to about 51 dollars a ticket, which sounds reasonably accurate....But even at the (for argument's sake) 37,500 that Fenway holds, that'd be 31ish a ticket...was this just the WWE re-writing things? I didn't really factor in inflation, and the 2004 World Series almost certainly grossed more than that; but, yeah....

The East gets really interesting on both ends of the playoff tree. New Jersey, Buffalo and Ottawa all win to keep it tight up top, Atlanta's loss opens the door for Tampa to stay close (remember, 6th place only has five points of breathing room on 11th place. The division winner might be the only SE team to make the dance), and the Isles and Canes both lose. Coupled with the B's win pulling them within six, it's getting really good now.

Sad news involving Arjun Atwal, who, allegdly, was involved in a drag race around a tight corner, resulting in an 100-mph crash and subsequent death of the young man he was racing. Details are still very sketchy, and an investigation is underway.

    PGA Tour - March

Calc gets his 13th career win on Sunday, and that leads to a great tournament in Orlando, The Arnold Palmer Invitational at Bay Hill. They've taken away a bit of the Sunday drama by turning the water-guarded 16th from a par 5 into a par 4, IMO, but still a great closing stretch of holes.

Is there less good wrestlers now?

This comes up every couple months. WCW 97 or WWE 92 are generally the consensus.
