Greatest WWF Matches of the 90's Tourney
CanadianGuitarist replied to AboveAverage484's topic in General Wrestling
Bret Austin. -
I'll second Hawk, Scroby, Invader and CanadianChris. And I think a first-round grudge match of Scroby vs UTSU might be in order, if possible. Indeed, I too would like to know how the brackets work.
-
Don Cherry's gonna have a field day with this one.

How the fuck did I get in? I don't contribute anything of note here. *sets pins up* Edit: Although I haven't seen him much outside of the hockey thread (pardon me if this is just ignorance), StarOcean's once a month hockey "previews" don't count as things of note either. I demand a higher seed. Also, is it 1-64, 2-63, etc. style, or are there brackets of 16? An all-hockey or all-sports folder one could get interesting, especially this close to the hockey playoffs starting.
-
Kovalev denied that he ever said that.

63 was the record set by Nick Price (third round) in 1986...Norman had the almost exact-same birdie putt to tie on the 18th in 96 (first round), but, it too, lipped out and he shot 64. Ditto about Norman in 99. I'm essentially indifferent to him, I never really pulled for or against him, but I remember really wanting him to get it done in 99, but I knew it was over with Olazabal's 20 footer.

When I had Molson That's Hockey on, they showed a few clips of the first period before switching back to curling; Midway through the first, the Rangers were outshooting 11-1. Mike, can you buy a voodoo DiPietro doll or something? A Rangers win is less harmful to the Habs at this point.

72-72-72-64 will likely be good enough towin the Masters this year (provided Tiger's not getting his fifth coat). It would have won by two in 2006, one in 2003, and got into a playoff in 2004.....Come to think of it, what was the last winning score to hit double digits not by Tiger; Someone should look it up, I got back to 96 and no one hit double yet. Jack set the record in 65, Floyd tied it in what, 78? God, I shouldn't add any fuel to the fire that is Leena's Adam Scott crush.

Most prestigious World Championship in wrestling Today
CanadianGuitarist replied to canadafour's topic in General Wrestling
Loaded question. If it's today exclusively, then the WWE title would make the most sense, wouldn't it? Champion of the highest attended and watched promotion? (Pardon my tunnel vision of Japan and Mexico). But a title gains prestige by history primarily (not to discount the man holding it, the circumstances under which he won it, or whom it was defended against henceforth), doesnt it? Ultimately, I think the word "today" needs to be dropped from the opening question. On the other hand, maybe I completely fucked up what you meant. And therefore, the World Heavyweight title should get the nod. The B show of WWE is still miles ahead in prestige, history and recognition as to say, the ROH title or the CZW title. A handful of forgettable holders and a little mud on its trail doesn't ultimately detract from holders like Flair, Rhodes, Hogan and Benoit. -
Nothin to see here.

Good call. This month is gonna be ugly. I'm getting god damned anxious.
-
I liked the guy's comment on the YouTube site: "Imagine what would have happened if he'd hit Emery instead of Phillips". Only one game on tap tonight, the Isles make a short drive to MSG to take on the Rangers.

It's Time was the name of the Dec 96 IYH.
-
Nope, that's Dean. He won the 2006 International to finally become something other than "That Guy in Annika's Group". Stop me if I'm wrong, but I thought I read that Wilson had been to Q-School ten times.
-
I really wish work weren't intefering with this: A four-way playoff between Jose Coceres (for the second straight week), rookie Mark Wilson, Camillio Villegas and Boo Weekely ends in darkness, and will continue Monday (while Im at work again)

This. Also, yes, the second link will do the trick. DVI to HDMI cable is one option, and, in addition, DVI-HDMI connectors are also available. But Invader's quote trumps.

Ridiculous or ideal. Preferred usage: as adverbs.
-
Stir fry is fucking ideal if you're cooking for a date. I usually just do sliced chicken breasts, green and red peppers, carrots and green beans. Tried it with potatoes a few weeks ago. Meh.
-
Buffalo or Ottawa in the East, Nashville or Detroit in the West.
-
I'm legitimately sick to my stomach over the Smyth trade. My favourite player after Iginla to Long Island? That's weird.
-
I agree, and I certainly would be more than unimpressed if I were a Sabres fan. Zubrus did show flashes of brilliance at times with the Habs, but he's a 15-20 goal man at best today.
-
It's gotta be the hair... I called in sick to work to watch the trade deadline shows....The Hansons are playing bubble hockey in the Sportsnet studios. Gary Roberts' trade has been made official, to Pittsburgh for Noah Walch.
-
Yes, he's serious. He's made it awfully clear to me over the last ten weeks. I'm not convinced. Nor will I be convinced over Kingof909's fag hate. I said he "often hit the nail on the head" a few weeks ago. Exceptions. Gold. Well done Bob. He's alright. This may be the motivation I needed to start a thread in TCS but never got around to doing. Edit: It doesn't deserve a thread. But I don't think there's a poster here I outright dislike. I've been bitter with, offended by and generally unpleased with posters here, but I don't think there's any I actually don't like.

Could I hook up my standard cable to this LCD tv?
CanadianGuitarist replied to a topic in Technology
Triple edit: There is indeed a coax input, from the picture of the side....Yes you can watch TV on it, you'll need a source (like the set-top box I described, and Mole confirmed) for HD. -
Souray getting the game winner tonight should prevent him from going anywhere. Wasn't that the idea of trading Rivet, to clear up some salary? So who needs a goalie and is still making the playoffs/a playoff run?.....The only team I can only think of would be maybe Pittsburgh or Atlanta; both have bonafide NHL stars on the horizon in net, but have little to no playoff experience.....Boston's sort of on the cusp, but that loss tonight was huge, and Montreal has guys who can at least fill the gap till Huet comes back....maybe a back up for Luongo in Vancouver, but, Biron is the only guy in the forthcoming list who would settle for being a back-up, and he's been a starter before. Biron, Joseph, Nabokov/Toskala, and Bryzagalov....I have trouble seeing all of them going.
