I've no problem with Van Hagar. But it's Van Roth. Not even close.
-
I hardly knew it (it was displayed on a graphic about an hour ago).....five men have done it, including Art Wall, Sam Snead and Johnny Miller. A guy I'd never heard of and I want to say Ray Floyd were the other two. Attaboy, Phil.

When/why did the Killer Bees stop wearing masks? I could swear they had masks on (to do the switch, a la the Bashams) at The Big Event in 1986, but I'm re-watching Wrestlemania 3 right now and neither of them have masks on. I suppose the more appropriate question could be when/why did they start wearing masks....

Hypothetical...I'm about a year away from getting an HDTV. As I mentioned earlier, I work at Wal*Mart, which gives us little to no product training, so I'm just trying to learn as much as I can about stuff I didn't already know. Well, let's say half-hypothetical, as the TV I'm looking at is a Sanyo LCD with a QAM (and ATSC) tuner. I've already got a standard satellite box, but obviously I'll need to upgrade to an HD receiver. I take that back. I won't technically need to, but we only pick up, I'm told, two channels in HD with rabbit ears as opposed to 30ish with Bell. So, if I stick with my current Bell receiver (satellite), this QAM tuner means nothing to me? What can I expect of the QAM tuner, if anything, with an HD-ready receiver? The ATSC means nothing to me due to the fact I'm bound to Bell for two more years (and didn't plan on dropping it anyway, regardless of my tv-buying decision).
-
Pebble starts tomorrow. And one of my favourite tourneys to watch, the International, has gone bust, seemingly all of a sudden.
-
Your TV has a QAM tuner in it and your cable company doesn't scramble the digital channels. The QAM tuner can pick up the unscrambled digital channels your cable company feeds. It probably also has a Cable Card slot to allow reception of the scrambled channels without a cable box. As far as the legality goes, if they aren't scrambling them then you are fine..but odds are good at some point they'll wise up and scramble them, especially if they are already offering a digital channels package. Two potentially really stupid questions re: the QAM tuner. 1) Does a satellite receiver(which I have) = a digital cable box as far as unscrambling digital channels? My satellite is running just off coax and not RCA, as my XBox takes up my only RCA input.....difference made there, if any? 2) If I'm running (hypothetically) an HDTV with nothing more than a set of rabbit ears and no set-top box of any kind, what happens to the QAM tuner then? Rendered useless?

^ I second. Even though it was revealed to me two years ago, I still have trouble accepting Rick Astley is white. I remember first hearing him when I was maybe four or five, and always had thought he'd look like Lando Calryssian. (sp?)

Only two times they match up are at -40. Maybe it's just me, but I don't think I could differentiate between -20 and -40. Cold, after a certain point, is cold.

I told a co-worker today, when she told me the temperature, that it was "Winnipeg Cold".

This is unquestionably the hardest I've ever laughed at a thread, edging out the Price is Right thread of eleven months ago. Doyle's double Stevie Ray sealed the deal. Also, as long as we're talking anal cum euphemisms, I defy anyone to not giggle while playing Hearts. I refer to this as "Shoot the moon" at least sounds reasonably appropriate. -
The combination of pink shirt and facial expression makes that picture work. The accidentally phallic megaphone doesn't hurt either.
-
Max, Milan Jurcina is now a Capital. Fourth-rounder.
-
Incidentally, where is the match play this year? If I'm not mistaken, Doral became a WGC...is that the one?
-
Apart from the Masters, my case to people who say golf is boring is always the 16th at Scottsdale on Saturday.
-
I don't follow. The only thing I can think of that would make me a hypocrite is my slippery slope theory, but I still don't see a connection between thinking weed > coke and hypocrisy.
-
No. Slippery slope, regardless of how much less harmful it is. And the fact it "isn't as bad as" something else shouldn't be grounds for legalizing it. It's wrong, and you're an idiot. </Mike> I had to put that in, it felt weird to be on the other side of the coin on a weed debate in any way, shape or form. I do, however, see absolutely no harm in legalizing it medicinally, provided it doesn't become a circus. Decriminalizing it seems fine, cops have more important things to worry about, but I shouldn't be able to walk to a corner store and buy some bud with my pop and chips. I do think that if it was legalized, that's more jobs in growing, marketing, pharmaceuticual, transport, etc.

You're the only Sabres fan alive who thinks that. It's refreshing, as Sabres fans are the only ones who actually like the fuckin guy.

Yes and no. They missed the playoffs in Roy's last full season as a Hab (and I use the term "full season" loosely, as it was the 48-gamer), and they did make the playoffs in 95-96 (after he was gone), as well as 96-97 and 97-98. Don't forget Houle also traded away Recchi, Damphousse and Turgeon.....My God, he fucking traded Patrick Roy within a month on the job.

Greatest WWF Matches of the 90's Poll/Tourney
CanadianGuitarist replied to AboveAverage484's topic in General Wrestling
Someone has now, but it just wasn't a good match. I agree with this. There's three or four big spots, but they don't hold up for match re-watching to well in the long run....how many times have you seen Mankind thrown off the cage in clips or whatever? -
Is it like Yop? Every Canadian on the board who reads this will cringe from the Yop reference. It's the food industry's answer to the Mellencamp Chevy ad, but far less hokey.
-
He's the "always-argue guy" referred to in someone's signature. And you ragged on golf yesterday. I don't hate you for that, but I have worked up a gay porn analogy.
-
Quite frankly, I don't get if you expected more than one answer. You addressed the question to people who already blaze.....why would the legality of it make it an issue? Unless somewhere on this board there's a fourteen-year-old who's blazing simply to rebel; and I think we'd have flushed him out by now anyway.
-
I can't be the one to say "No dice" here.
