Mel Gibson... Now Kramer??!!
CanadianGuitarist replied to The Niggardly King's topic in Television & Film
Thoughts: - I don't necessarily buy into the thought that "Well, just dropping one N-Bomb makes you racist". People slip up, and even comedians should be exempt as well. But that many times? I can't really give him the benefit of the doubt on that one. - I don't think Richards heard the woman close to the cam say "Oh my God" after the first n word, but if he did, that should certainly prove there was something more to this than "shock comedy". - The article linked here said the hecklers were "playfully teasing him", which seems a little excessively defensive. But that's, until we learn more (which I doubt we will, as this is a pretty sexy entertainment story), as far as my defence goes for him. -
700 yes. I just don't see 800, though. Don't ask me why...

This was the buzz at high school the next day. Everyone - fans, non fans - were discussing it. It was the non/casual fans that pointed out the large amount of styrofoam that was in there to help the fall. Off topic, but it kinda sucks that I don't get to have spirited wrestling discussions at work like I did at school in the 90s, although two weeks ago there was a random debate out of nowhere between two co-workers that there were multiple Undertakers. At 10 years old, I didn't quite know what to make of Earthquake squashing a snake or Macho Man being bitten by one. As a point of reference, 1991 was when I started watching wrestling. I also got antsy watching Berzerker matches after the sword incident because for some reason I thought he was going to go rogue and use it for real. I have no idea why. I seem to recall him taking a swing at Mr. Perfect as well, but he hit the ring post. I thought Yokozuna was Japanese, if that counts as being worked by an angle. I bought into the Liz/Savage wedding, but that was one of the first angles I ever saw and really, how the hell would I know they were married for years? yea but the whole cactus/funk being "dead" thing was ruined by the fact that at the end of the show both of them came running down to the ring to help Austin and Owen against dx and the outlaws with ivs attached and Funk wearing a hospital gown The first time I ever heard that was actually in Foley's book 2.5 years later. At the time, I didn't have cable, and as such, couldn't see Raw. Shotgun conveniently edited out the 90 minutes later.

Not quite. Can anyone tell me, as an example, what their res is? Would it even neccessarily make a difference? When I opened my start menu earlier, I was told to "make icons smaller", as they were too big to show all the programs listed under said start menu...anyone know how to do that?

^ We're in the ballpark. Looks like it's a matter of fine-tuning.

Nope. Had an Internet Explorer window opened, as well as a second IE window with my email (through a third party, think Hotmail), into which I typing. Clear blue sky.

So who stinks up the bathroom in your house?

This man speaks truth. Baron has talked smack about his pungency before, but Albert always leaves him outdone. My dad is STILL bragging about his farts from a camping trip in 2000, in which he ate and drank so much greasy stuff and booze that his farts scared off people over 30 feet away within seconds of leaving his body. I don't think by tomorrow night that I'll have the most weird post here. -
Why is there an argument brewing over which conference is better? Just seems like a little silly to me.

As a 13 year old mark, coupled with JR's selling of it, I sincerly thought Funk and Foley were pretty well dead from the Dumpster Ride by the Outlaws.

Point one is very true. Second is fair, but should be with a grain of salt. Tallinder and Lydman are both out, and that's two of their three best blueliners.

Anyone seen the WWE Power 25 DVD game at 7-11? Thoughts? -
So, Princess Leena is getting married

Or at least make you the godfather. Seriously, a name-sake, cross-continent godfather? That'd almost certainly be groundbreaking. -
A lot of good teams to Chris. I'm still waiting to see when you know, reality starts hitting in with Buffalo, Pittsburgh and Toronto. Pittsburgh's started to cool-off, and Toronto's still playing well. Even when they calm down, they're playoff good. Buffalo's for real. Your point about a lot of OT wins and blown third periods is fair, but still, a record of 16-2-1 is pretty fucking good anyway you analyse it. I'm not sold on the Rangers. Jagr and Shanny are keeping things up, but their defence is pretty thin. I honestly think, as was the case with Miller and Ward, that Lundqvist was so used to playing every game like he was fighting for his job that the luck and urgency to play well stuck with him. Don't get me wrong, this wasn't a shot at Lundqvist, who is certainly talented (after all, you don't fuck up your way to an Olympic gold medal), but I also think it was awfully easy to hand out blue ribbons to a team that hadn't been to the playoffs since Tickle-me-Elmo was a big deal. Lots of career years and overacheiving on the Blueshirts last year, IMO. They'll compete, but I see them falling a little short this year. CC, Melynk's been pleading for patience, and this is simply too good a team to keep having the pressure on the shit barometer rise. Gerber is the biggest problem (or was, at least), but can't really point the finger entirely at him. If they can get their powerplay back on form, they should be alright. A little leadership is in order.

That pic? Post. Of. The. Year.

No, that comment is from the PS3 thread, where he said that screenshot of the NBA game (with the guys' bodies merged together) looked like Xbox1 level graphics. It is better than that, although not terribly much. Even so, I still think that gameplay > graphics to a certain degree. Yeah, the PS3 and 360 have exceptional graphics(especially when using component), but are PS2 and Xbox graphics that bad, even by comparison? I really think the Wii will take the lion's share of the market this holiday. Holy fuck, Xmas is like a month away.
-
Good. I thought it was just me....
-
Yeah, you got a little mislead, Baron. Wii's 280 MSRP for a machine, controller and Wii Sports. The bundle (I think it was Andrew) spoke of was a Wal*mart bundle with like eight games. Yeah, it's gonna be graphically like a first-gen system, but the interactivity of that trumps that, IMO.
-
Why would I need the joystiq then? Are not all games compatible with the motion sensor, or are they just giving people an option to not use the new interaction style?

She's from St. Kitts, ya know. Front page of the SC Standard last week.
-
I'm sure this has been at least semi-discussed, but I didn't really see it through my page-sifting: My co-workers and I tried to figure out how the controller is going to work, exactly. From what I understand, there's a motion-sensor (the part of the controller that has the joystick on it) and the other half that looks like a DVD remote. From what we gathered, we need to hold the hang on to the DVD remote, and the other acts as, say, my golf club? Where we really got confused was dealing with that racing title that comes with the steering wheel (Was it Ridge Racer?), in which the DVD remote was placed into a mount in the centre of the wheel. Sorry if these are stupid questions, or it has been discussed before, but I'm gonna need to know for work and launch on Sunday morn...and I didn't want to go to the flame war that is Gamefaqs.

I was, and still am, impressed by the orderly fashion in which today's PS2 launch went, eliminating the need for a violent bloodbath. We had four PS3's, and four campers since Wednesday. Not a single person who called over the last few days was upset or yelled at us for saying, "Well, there's four people in line, and four models arriving. You're pretty well out-of-luck". Even the guy who offered me $500 to set one aside for him didn't seem to mind.
-
That's called a winning streak. It HAS happened before. On the upside, they haven't played poorly longer than two games in a row either.
-
Pierre, and yes, you're right. I still don't mind Miller at all. Czech, re: Baron's assessment. No shot at NSkie, but I think we may need to make history, Czech, and invite Rant in for an assessment. I'm sure he can offer some sort of tidbit.

I know what you're talking about...Damn I havent seen those in ages..Someone is gonna have to dig in the tapes for those... I won't be able to access them till tomorrow, but I've got WM 14 in my anthology, featuring "I never did a moonsault...." and "I know what you're thinking...." Expect them sometime Friday evening.

Manwho...remember how I defended your sig about a week ago? Bill Cosby's admiration of ghetto booty trumps. Even if Slayer's Mo Vaughn post was awesome.
