North Korea Agrees to end Nuke Program
CanadianGuitarist replied to Prime Time Andrew Doyle's topic in Current Events
That's from CTV News. Take it for what it's worth. -
While this isn't an ideal place for this to be settled, it at least has a hockey theme (and this would be where Czech's and my paths most frequently cross: Yesterday at my job as a desktop publisher, I was told to do an ad for a plaza that included, among other things, a "License Bureau". Now, under the Queen's English, as a verb it should be license, but as a noun, licence. (The same applies with practise/practice). My proofreader and I discussed this later, and we couldnt decide on which to use. I.e A place to be licensed, or a place to receive a licence. We left undecided, and I was told to leave it until this morning. This morning before doing the corrections, it dawned upon me how many times TSN showed "The Toronto Maple Leafs Practice Facility". Should that make a difference? We ultimately went with Licence, but we were still pretty unsure. Thanks. Needed that off my chest. Six on the docket this evening, including what should be a great game in Anaheim as they host the Wild. Also, and I'm sure this won't be the last time we discuss this: Forsberg's injury is not serious, says TSN.ca

This is no accident, but it made just about every sports blooper tape made from 1985-1995. A guy who about to lose money on a horse proceeded to jump onto the track and punch the horse. Not the jockey. The horse. Despite my blooper tape assessment, I'm having a hell of a time finding it...

Minny yes, but not this good. I had them in the playoffs, I think at 6 or 7. Chicago also yes, but certainly not this good. I've always liked Aucoin, and hadn't even considered the maturity factor of Seabrook. Khabibulin with another starter breathing down his neck(well, 1.5 if you count Caron) might count for something. They're gonna cool off eventually, but I didn't think they'd be this hot. I had assessed them as being better, but not playoff good. Granted, it's still October, but...

"Who's Mark Jindrak?" "I...I don't know"

I don't mean for this to sound insensitive, but I'm surprisd they didnt start using the Statue of Liberty third full time after 9-11. Hell, I'm not convinced they won't be called the New York Reagans before I die.

My exact words to my grandfather last May, after the 7-6 debacle in Round 1:"I'm not quite sold on Miller yet, but Buffalo looks like they're for real". Yeah, no one else looks as solid in the East, but even so, six games is more than just luck.

Maybe Clarke will tell Comcast he's GM'd his last game? Maybe I should get off the computer because Mickie James is coming so I can teabag her? Ahhhhhhhh wishful thinking.

He's got three points tonight. So does Sheldon Souray. Habs up 5-4 with a handful to play. Huet should not be allowing five goals, nor should Calgary be scoring that many. I'll also take the vice versa, subbing Habs for Flames and Huet for Kipper. Max, I'll assume you heard about Esche ripping Hitchcock this morning? I have no idea, they just mentioned it on The Score.... Hitchcock said "This is on us as a team. This is not the fault of Esche, who did a good job tonight".

Well, if there's an All-Alberta playoff round, all bets are off.

Any way of knowing CDubya's EP as far as tiebreaker goes? Since I'll need Chicago to cover and a TB to win this week, getting a little curious.

Although the year's ten days old, Phaneuf on Hamel is still leading the way as hit of the year, so far.

Most forgettable stint in a promotion
CanadianGuitarist replied to King Kamala's topic in General Wrestling
CM Punk (the poster here). You should know that newcomers and I don't get along. But you're off the hook by referring to Judge Jeff Jones in one of your first two posts. That being said, Sid in ECW wasn't that forgettable. -
I thought so too. Here's where it gets pretty interesting. On the Canadian side of the border, the cities of Fort Erie, Port Colborne, Welland, Niagara Falls and St. Catharines basically form a home plate towards 5 o clock, with Buffalo immediately opposite the top of the plate, where Fort Erie is. We got about three feet of snow in Fort Erie, where my parents live and I work on weekends. Power's out for five days, save a few sporadic places here and there with generators. The same holds true for what could be called Metro Buffalo, with power out, phones down and tonnes of damage from fallen trees and what have you. Port Colborne, where Baron's from, is in a similar spot but not as bad. Welland and Niagara Falls have little to no snow, and St. Catharines, where I'm from, has nothing. There's a few reasons I bring this up: -During the first two periods of last night's Sabres-Red Wings game on TSN, they continually eluded to the fact that all the snow and potential damage to the city of Buffalo was the reason for the poor Sabres play in the first forty minutes. - There was still a game at the HSBC tonight, which the Sabres won 7-4. Anyone get the attendance, out of curiosity?

BY NO MEANS is this a defence of Bill Wirtz, but how much of Chicago's downfall can honestly be blamed on him? I mean, Toronto has had shitty owners who cared about money and little else, but they've never had trouble bringing fans in. Yeah, I realise the markets are much different, but...

Bobby Orr can say he wore the Indian, too, which is often forgotten. There's so much history and marketing presence in Chitown it's unreal. They've got three or four bonafide NHL stars, and a lot of players that could sell seats from a marquis standpoint. What a fucking shame.

Buffalo Baltimore Cincinnati Dallas N.Y. Giants Philadelphia Seattle Washington Kansas City N.Y. Jets San Francisco - 11.5 seems like an awful lot, even for the 49ers. They're quiet scoring 21 a game on average. I'll take my chances. Oakland - 15.5 also seems like a lot. Maybe it;s just because I'm a Raiders fan, but something tells me they'll hang on this week. They did against Cleveland two weeks ago. Chicago I'll say St. Louis scores 17. Good luck, all.

Tense moments late in Philly, after Montreal outclassed the Flyers in the first forty. Habs hang on and get an empy-netter for a 3-1 win, though.

The PPV was Judgement Day. I don't recall the exact date, but it was definitely the night after Judgement Day. All the players that night were great. Even Lawler and Ross were gold on commentary. Fuck, you could do a whole thread on just great quotes from that night: Vince: "Know what that feeling was like? AUSTIN! IT WAS BETTER THAN SEX!" Lawler: "WHOA! That's good, JR!" Ross: "He's wicked!"

Anyone see Ryan Kesler get his clock cleaned last night? I don't even know who hit him in the Canucks 2-1 loss. It'll be on the plays of the week for sure if you missed it.

Freedom haters. No sound on the ytnmd? Unless its my computer at fault, a link called Hussan(even with the pic) is significantly lesser than one with Hussan's theme.

Actually that sort of happened. HBK returned in the fall/winter as a heel "commissioner" and briefly feuded with DX. Then of course he was put through the windshield in the infamous angle. Shawn kept popping up on WWF TV in 99 usually to quickly disappear soon after. I have no idea what was going on with that. Without letting my hate for HBK seep through, I really don't know how else to explain his on-off appearances any other way than he didn't want to be out of the limelight for very long.

Loose Cannon just brought a challenege to Hunter's Torn Quad with more impressive rarely mentioned fact, re: Miguel Perez. Taker couldnt have done much more to help Cena get him up for the F U there. CHOKESLAM! Im indifferent to the Undertaker, but I marked. Where's Kennedy? -

I've heard him called "the conscience" before.
