OAO Raw Family Reunion Thread - October/9th/2006.

I had hockey on for about 20 minutes. I turned back to this about 45 cock jokes. 48 of those jokes were not clever in the least. 60 of them weren't funny. -

Buried ten wrestlers in about 45 seconds? Thats excessive, even by Kliq standards. -

I'd rather watch Ready to Rumble than the Waterboy....both more than the Marine. -

Wow. That's heat. Come to think of it, kayfabe or not, Andre held the title for about an hour. And Captain Insano! -

There was Kane. I saw him before Umaga, but that doesn't change the fact that Kane's leaving tonight. My god, that's a pop for Cena. -
I was gonna be a terrorist this year for Halloween. Good taste prevented it. I was also gonna be Amish. Good taste for the last week prevented it. I can't deny I just didn't want to shave for as long as I could.

KKK, shouldn't the tiebreaker be potentially needed to determine a win between me and Vitamin X? From what I've got, I've won three, he's won two, and tonight's game still in the air? Granted, I'm shooting myself in the foot, as the tiebreaker pick would go to him, but I didn't see it posted was all..

Yeah it was! I also forgot to point out how good Raycroft's glove looked.

Thoughts: -What a great game in Hogtown. - Aebischer needs a little positioning work. He was out of it far too often. - It turned out to be moot, as nothing could have made me happier than a Habs win. But if they had scored on Tucker's OT penalty, I'd have been a little bitter. That was a god-awful call.

Announcers protecting kayfabe...

I realise this question's about three months behind now...but a Finlay Regal match was boring? -
They scored eight in the conference finals against the Blues the year they went to the finals. I'm not sure why the fuck I remember that.

Keep dropping the jaw, CC. It's 6-1 Phoenix...even if that is over Long Island. By the way, the two teams you couldn't believe scored 14(fairly), scored more goals than Marc Denis had saves in a win. Nine. Anyone see the Battle of Pennslyvania(just doesn't have the same ring, does it?) Pittsburgh won 4-0, but worth noting that Gagne had eight shots, Philly went 0 for 10 on the PP, and Fleury stopped 40. Just wondering how lucky the Pens got. Shanny gets 599 and 600 in a Rangers win over the Caps. Jagr also scores, and he's up to 592. And since I'm pretty well covering everything here, apart from Todd White's OT winner, get used to this: Minny's first goal: Radivojevic, from Gaborik and Demitra. Their second: Gaborik, from Radoivojevic and Demitra. Yes, I'll admit to looking up how to spell Radivojevic. My best guess was Radiovoivic. Once during my telemarketing days, my shitty pronunciation was called upon by a customer(Mielocewicz). I proceeded to attempt Ponikarovsky and Stromboulopolous. I'm drunk.

Buffalo - Bears win but don't cover. Carolina Minnesota Miami Green Bay New Orleans - This one took some mulling. Indianapolis - This one took some mulling N.Y. Giants Arizona Jacksonville Oakland - Worked out last week. Why not again? Dallas Pittsburgh Denver (4.5) St. Louis scores 27. Good luck, all.

Get your laughs in now, Leafs fans. I'm sorry, but 8-0 still rings in my mind pretty clearly. I like Double C's chances in the end.

If Bret Hart wasn't injured in 1997,.....
CanadianGuitarist replied to JN News's topic in General Wrestling
That would have been horrible and would have ruined one of the greatest wrestling storylines ever done. The reason he turned heel was because he became a bitter whiner due to getting screwed out of every chance he had to win the title. If he won the title at WM, then there's no great Austin/Bret match, no double turn, no heel Bret, no USA/Canada storyline, no need to reform the Hart Foundation. It would have literally been one of the worst ideas ever. Wasn't Bret only in a wheelchair for two months? I don't think it would have made that much of a difference. Yeah, you're right. I will stick by my "Anything you can say 'Let's put Bret in this missing spot, you've got it made' ", however. Although someone made a great point about Bret as a grizzled vet in the wheelchair) there could have been dozens of memorable moments had Bret wrestled. That being said, there were dozens of memorable moments without Bret wrestling, so it's win-win. -
I'm sure I'll sound like a sour grapes fanboy here, but what if Koivu hadn't hurt in game 3? I think the Habs wouldn't have crumbled the way they did to the Canes. The final eight consisted of two teams from California. The past two cups have gone to teams from south of the Mason Dixon line. You're right, Felonies, but Bettman has been laughing like Ted Dibiase on a crack binge for the last four months, I'm sure. Max, didn't you mention that Chara was named captain a few weeks ago? Battle of Alberta and Battle of Ontario tonight...and I'm working for 14 hours. TSN's got the late game, don't they? Or do they have Van-Det?

CanadianGuitarist replied to JN News's topic in General Wrestling
Absolutely. You'll recall that most of the spring, the Harts held every belt but the World. There's no reason to think they couldn't have given him the strap earlier than Summerslam. Hell, imagine if he'd won it at WM13 as was originally planned. As great as Bret was on the mic that summer, just imagine the fantasy booking available. Insert Bret Here is a pretty failsafe comment for a booker to make. -
Hasn't it pretty well always started (at least under Bettman's reign) the Wednesday before Thanksgiving?
-
Outside that Gil goal and a stupid penalty or two. the Leafs looked pretty good. They simply lost to the better team tonight.
-
YES! I can safely say I never laughed so hard as I did the first time I saw the Cock Ring Warehouse. It usurped a 4.5 year reign of South Park's "Uncle Fucker"
