Wow. I thought McGuire was more hated. Nonetheless, I'll definitely agree that he knows his stuff. But he's just so animated and over-the-top sometimes. McGuire's monster performer between periods is incredibly hard for me to watch.

The mark in me loves this. The smark in me worries he'll be gone soon. By the way, from WM13 to about KOTR 98, Scorpio was my favourite behind any member of the Hart Foundation.

Since I don't think I've seen it done here

You're down there for a reason! I'd forgotten all about the original Matt Foley, which kinda got overdone. Good one. -

Sorry Chinese Kid. Man I still can't believe that you got a three day suspension for saying that. You misquoted. You wanted my next post. Also, I was stoned, and it was only a detention. -
^ Ok....I'll let you guys handle this one, as he and I will be arguing this for the next two or three months.

I was gonna say, I remember the Shotgun of Wrestlemania weekend that year was all a build-up, but didn't recall that particular vid. I had that episode on tape for many years. It's a long shot, but anyone remember who had Ric Flair can dance al night long? I'm trying to track it down.

Tiger and Jimmer, presumably paired, take two on Friday and Saturday. Ditto for Mickelson-DiMarco. Throw a handful of upsets in(I'm thinking Taylor and Johnson will be two who do)....and that's about it. Europe wins 19-9

People who refer to Asians as "Chinese". Writing and to some extent language, I can't really tell apart, and I'll admit to not being an expert on telling a variety of Asian citizens apart, but there's a definite difference between say, Japanese and Viatnemese. Is saying "Asian" that hard? Sorry if I came off as holier than thou. If I ask someone "Is today the 20th?" And they reply with "all day". That makes me insane. -
Watch it. Now, before it's taken down. My god I always forget how good that build-up was. In the main event/upper mid scene, the WWF did absolutely nothing wrong from about Summerslam 97 to Royal Rumble 99. As much as I hate Michaels, that ring pyschology where he had Austin tie up was exceptional. Not just the "this is it", but actually shoving the belt in his face? Brilliant.

5-2 Bruins over the Habs. TSN says the Habs felt like winners due to Koivu's good health, but pre-season or not, I don't like a 5-2 loss. Hey, it's what, three weeks to opening night? EDIT: Two! Two fuckin weeks!

So I'm going to Toronto in the morning.

This is not a knock on street meat, but try a Jamaican Patty. Trust me. Also, I'd recommend Pizza Nova. Pizza Pizza is pretty good, but from a chain that big, there's nothing out of the ordinary. Is the film festival still going on? -

The price of booze at sporting events I don't have a problem with. The price of food and drink is well-founded. I couldn't get a hot dog and beer for under $10 at the Jays game I went to this year. Even a dog and cola was I think $8. That's too much. Im gonna side with the Leena-Czech clan as well. While I don't work at Gamestop, I've worked in sales and retail enough to agree that a line needs to be drawn somewhere. When I telemarketed, I read verbatim for a while and sold a few. After I got into a niche, I re-worded it slightly and came off a little less robotic. I sold about the same. While that doesn't apply for a mystery shopper, Wal*Mart's mystery shopper is fine as long as you're polite and make an honest effort to help. For example: Eye contact is acceptable for the three metre rule, you're expected to introduce yourself on the phone but as long as you're polite and say your department, etc. As such, I think Gamestop could find a happy medium. -
Domi has been forced into, er, retired and joined TSN as an analyst. Could he be worse than McGuire? Discuss.

I'll second that. The round robins were quality fun.

My bad. I refer you to the brain fart I mentioned earlier.

^ I don't see how you beat me, Flik, barring a massive brain fart on my behalf while doing my picks thus far: miami + 6.5 (loss) carolina +1.5 (loss) cleveland - 10.5 (loss) chicago +8.5 (win) indy + 13.5 (win) nwo +1.5 (win) nyg - 3.5 (win) bal +12.5 (win) atl +5.5 (win) missed pick (loss) stl +3.5 (loss) den +10.5 (loss) ne + 6.5 (win) sd +11.5 (win) dal + 5.5 (win) pit +1.5

Do they have full-on commercials? I've only ever seen the one "closed captioning paid for" spot at the end of Jeopardy. And yeah, that's awful. -
^ Balderdash. WM:TAC was far superior to IYH.
-
I've always liked Denis, but I don't see TB in the picture this year.

I need a Giants win or, at worst, a Philly field goal badly. I would have picked Seattle, which meant a differing pick. Instead, I fucked up, picked nothing, and presumably have a loss. Lost my first three afternoon games, won my next three, but need some breathing room to compensate the Seahawks ball drop.

Am I the only one who thinks Edge might win?Smackdown could use a few UMC/Main Eventers. Wishful thinking, most likely, as I'm an Edgehead, but it doesn't seem tooooooooo unlikely. DX gets slaughtered, hopefully to set-up a blow-off at Survivor Series. Nitro retains. Trish wins. Women's division dwindles to nothing over the next six months. Carlito, Highlanders, Umaga are your others.

I thought I was the only one who noticed.

Crowd's starting to get ugly in Miami.
-
Frustrating as it was to watch, that was a great pick. Miami looks absolutely flat on offence.
