Ah yes. I was thinking of the NCAA question, which Mick was a part of, #6.

Another question about HD-DVD/HDMI? Now, about a week ago, we started carrying HD DVD's. Our department manager Kenny wrote down in our communication book "These will not play on a traditional DVD, only a HD DVD player, which we do not have!" On last night's truck was a new model HDMI input DVD. I asked Dan, the guy I was working with, what would happen if I put one of the aforementioned HD DVD's in this new RCA HDMI DVD player. He assured me it would work. Now, I tried to explain that HD DVD players and HDMI were not the same, that HDMI converted a NTSC DVD. He said it didn't make a difference. Is that true? I maintained it wasn't, that the two machines were different. Dan still said that the HD DVD would work in an HDMI DVD player, but, and I don't want to slander him to badly in case he was right, but he didn't seem to know what he was talking about, basically being a yes man. Another variable in Dan's favour, is that we've actually had one model of HDMI for a while now, a Samsung. But we have not sold ONE in the year we've had it. Is it possible Dan was right, and Kenny said we didn't have them because he wasn't aware of the Samsung? So, what happens if I load an HD DVD into an HDMI? Will it upconvert somehow? Not read the disc altogether? Some third thing? Acronym count:25

Ken Jennings actually did an interview for Golf Digest (more on that later) where he said he did everything he could to use "Not a fan of the ladies, are you Trebek?" but it never came up. Anyone notice every time he's on a talkshow or what have you now, he loses an impromptu game? This happened on CBC's The Hour, where he and a buddy of host George Strombolopolous played, with roughly half the questions/answers involving skin bars. Golf Digest used to have a feature where they would ask two golf-related people the same ten questions, usually general trivia about say, the college a player went to, the home country, tidbits about their favourite players growin up, etc. Phil Mickelson actually beat Jennings 6-5. If I'm not mistaken, the answer that clinched it for Phil was "Who is Phil Mickelson?"

Damn. Was gonna link to the NHL Playoffs thread, where someone did that with Edmonton after Game 2. It's still funny three weeks later.

I beg your pardon? A guy who'd probably be a second or third line centre elsewhere won the Richard, thanks to the playmaking of the Ross winner. The Sharks were well under .500 at the same time. They made the playoffs. That's MVP worthy. I don't have a problem with Jagr getting the Pearson, however.

That was someone's signature once upon a time. It was the first thread I ever started. GOLD.

Booker T was also pretty good hawking Beef-a-roni. Voiceover: "But, Booker, it's not beefaroonie, it's beef-a-roni!" Booker: Tell me you did not just say that

Check out Lovecraft's avatar, then re-read this quote. A HHH joke is waiting to be made, as if it wasn't already from the thread derived from his avatar.

Hey, be grateful you had videos if she was Amish. Four buddies and I were amazed that the amount of Amish people at the bus station across from an ECW show we had just exited in 2001. We asked at least five of them if they were Amish Roadkill.

You're both right. There's a lot of freakin talent in this family, and I've heard multiple times now that Eric is the least talented of the bunch. What's not to like about that, though? I mean, is there a person alive who doesnt like most, if not all six, Sutters?

That's even worse. You can't have a guy play the entire regular season knowing he's going to lose his job once the playoffs start. Certainly not a guy who could start a Home Building Centre with all the hardware he has. Plus he's an ass, which won't help matters. Emery is ready. My two big offseason predictions: 1) Hasek will never again play in the NHL. 2) Bertuzzi is done with Vancouver.

Yes. Keenan has officially put Luongo on the trading block. Rumored destinations are Ottawa, Detroit, LA and Vancouver. I like that the Kings are seemingly becoming players in trade talks. I could see Vancouver over any other, for my 1/50th of a dollar. What's Emery's status? I really think he's ready to step in full time (the playoff loss was hardly his fault). This is based on Hasek of course, who's a UFA Canada Day, isn't he?

TSN.ca reports Sakic has re-upped for a year, as has Manny Maholtra with Columbus. Vigneault will be named the coach of Vancouver this afternoon, and Kirk Muller will be joining the Habs as an assistant bench boss.

If I was going to outdo myself I would have posted some video of some chick taking a stream of shit to the mouth or something. Dumbass. Point well taken. Sorry.

MrRant has now become a constant attempt to outdo himself.

I've heard that too. But that seems like a gamble, doesn't it? Especially with all the potential goalies on the market this summer. Is he ready to be a full-time starter yet?(In Hogtown, no less) I mean, yeah, Detroit did have a great year, but look who was in front of him.

Quoted for truth. I didn't realise how many Tampa got. As I raised four weeks ago, what happens to Ward? Apart from Kipper, as was mentioned, Giguere, Irbe, Bulin and Kolzig all kind of had a Cup hangover. Here's one: Who deserves a Cup the most now that BrindAmour has his? Kariya? Iginla? Roenick even? Cujo?

That's why I don't know. And, in unrelated news, Lance Armstrong wrote an 8 page letter to the IOC insisting they get rid of Dick Pound. Bettman should do the same.
-
Atlanta, San Jose, and all of Western Canada better get busy. This is going to be a very interesting summer for goalies. Also, Salary Cap to Increase Is there any kind of profit sharing among teams? If not, this is a bonehead move.

Most undeserving champions
CanadianGuitarist replied to CanadianGuitarist's topic in General Wrestling
Andre is recognized as WWE Champion. Stop me if I'm wrong, but didn't he actually not win it? From what I remember, wasn't it immediately held up after the fake Hebner thing, resulting in the tourney at WM 4? -

What seperates the 2 Bret vs Austin matches as well as others
CanadianGuitarist replied to a topic in General Wrestling
The build-up to Austin/Bret was extremely well done, and the ring psychology, in additon to the post match seeds planted. I think, and this is not a shot at either, is that Austin/Bret from SS is so well received is that it was the first time anyone had seen Bret in close to 7 months.
