Covers you liked better than the original?
CanadianGuitarist replied to Mr. S£im Citrus's topic in Music
Concurred. Same with Finger 11. Nothing will likely ever top Pink Floyd's, but ShadowsFall did go tits up attempting it. -
Smitty, with my dick as collateral, I swear this time last year, I referred to SOAD's fanfare as "Hating Bush Being A Fad"..Good for you for being ahead of the game.
-
Each show had basically something for evryone: -Some techincal matches - Some lucha matches - Some garbage matches A GREAT cast of charcters. No one in ECW ever took a night off....everyone showed up to work.

I was just discussing that with my dad, the ridiculous amount of good televised sports this weekend. Be a lot easier to swallow if the Jays could beat a fucking AAA club, but thats for a different thread. And the U.S not being decided (by the way, NBC's coverage enrages me, their analysts are harsh to a fault and Johnny Miller tries to hard to be funny) isnj't that far fetched either. Mike's four back, mind you , and a Ferrie stumble isnt that out of the question.

*ahem.

Have you ever heard Bob Cole, particularly in the last three months? Not a total wash.
-
I have to admit I'd never seen the actual anthem singer raise the mic to the crowd. Gold. Thirty seconds in. Staois is in the box. I'm now walkign to the bar up the road...this is too good to watch alone.
-
Even with my least favourite Canadian singing along to the anthem, this is among the proudest I've ever been to be Canadian.
-
There's a lot of fans singing Star Spangled Banner. There were also a lot chanting "Lets Go Oilers" until about the second or third line. O Canada is going to be fucking insane. Fuck, I love this country.
-
So I'm told, with the prospect of no service charges? Which would be nice, with the 50ish I pay monthly now.
-
I'd like to point out at this time that we can officially stop rallying behind NBC. Jimmy Roberts pointed out during a break from the U.S. Open (by the way, Im surprised no one, namely me, didnt start a thread for it), that the hockey coverage would trump a replay of, "bad news, we won't be seeing the Britney Spears concert tonight due to Game 6).
-
As silly as this might sound, I think Edmonton may have all the momentum now. Markannen is playing well, Edmonton got a definite boost from a shorthanded goal to win, PP is clicking as mentioned, Weight and Ward hurt, andthe last hockey Edmontonians will see live for four months?
-
Edited for further wishful thinking.
-
I still think Pronger, but it's tough to disregard the fact that Roloson hasn't been playing the last ten days. Baron had a sleeper with Pisani, who now has what, 12 goals?

Was Aunt Jemima real? I went to high school with a girl named Jemima. Every single person who ever met her caller her Aunt. She had all kinds of ghetto booty. I sincerly thought she had stuffed a pillow down her pants.

The very thing happened to me about two hours before this topic was posted. On the loading dock? That's ballsy.

Johnny Cash's Hurt, Gary Jewel's Mad World Jimi Hendrix's All Along The Watchtower GnR's Knockin on Heaven's Door (dependant on mood.) Also by GnR, Live and Let Die. Metallica's Sabbra Caddabra. Damn That Rapper's Great! While I'm not that familiar with the song, I think that should get some kind of amnesty, as that's like comparing Elvis to The Honky Tonk Man. -
Things may be looking up in the city of Champions. But, as far as I'm concerned, the wrong Ward is not playing. Edmonton's still trying to stay above water otherwise. So, who gets the Smythe? I'd give it to Ward, but Bob Mckenzie swore either Stillman or Brind'Amour, neither of which I have a problem with. And then there's Staal!

Understandable, CC. Don't like JD, but, hey, he's not Cole/Neale. FUCK! Tied at 3. Raleigh is going nuts.
-
Iron Maiden vs. Iced Earth Sepultura vs. Megadeth - This one took an awful lot of time to think about. Pantera vs. Dream Theater -This one simply came down to personal preference, as it was a tough decision Judas Priest vs. Helloween Black Sabbath vs. In Flames Slayer vs. Ozzy Osbourne Metallica vs. Emperor Motörhead vs. Anthrax - Close one, but Lemmy comes through.

So what happens at Vengeance? Foley is usually professional enough to lie down, but against Flair? I just don't see it. -

Flair/Foley in the ring? Sweet. I just turned back from hockey. This should be great. -
Wow. This is the first sober game I've seen in Edmonton this series, but they were HARSH on Weight. Faceoff in the Canes zone. Big one here, as Edmonton's been pressuring like it was a pp. Ryan Smyth is starting to look like a skinny Mick Foley. Has any English Canadian player not listed Gretz as their favourite during these segments?
-
The Canes arent allowing ANY open shooting lanes. Great D to counter Edmonton's good hustle. It's time for Bob Cole to pack it in.

No mic time for Armando? Bunk. EDIT: ? Maybe? There we go. I'd have hated this show otherwise.
