I remember you saying you were thinking of eliminating the originality bonus; two best bets is a good compromise. Alas, a single best bet has yet to kick the bucket for me.

At the risk of pissing off one of my favourite posters in NoCalMike, I think Washington will go down as the biggest disappointment of this season: Seattle was banged up, Buffalo's record was exagerrated from a few good fourth quarters, and what I'm going to remember most when I think of San Diego was how many games they had taken away late (and keep in mind they can still get in the playoffs).

I never got the love for this episode. It was good, but everyone seems to have it on a pedestal above other episodes.

For fuck's sake, KKK. Rocket, a previous abandoner of his team, gets a playoff-bound team the same day I'm honest enough to correct my benficial win? No, this doesn't sit well with me at all.

Though I won't lose any sleep if it gets unnoticed...I shouldn't have won. We split the picks, and Uzi was closer on the TB score.
-
Not that it matters, but I had my pick of Chicago in well before gametime Thursday night.
-
This one crossed my mind at work today; I thought it could be a sleeper pick. My wonky work schedule for the past few weeks both prevented me from starting this draft, and currently, has prevented me from putting together a list of potential candidates.

I'd like to get into the sweet sixteen this year.

Some musings: * I don't follow junior hockey very much, but Evander Kane is likely to be selected by Team Canada's U-20. That's good, as that could be my new favourite name. * Thomas Vanek has 24 freakin goals already? I'm also pretty impressed with Kessel's 19 already. * It obviously won't overshadow Tim Thomas' stellar play so far, but in what's being dubbed 'the year of the backup', Manny Fernandez is doing a perfectly competent job in that role. * Chris Chelios pretty quietly started his 25th season of NHL play this evening. * I'm sure we could all find some faults with the NHL schedule without even really trying, but Edmonton has played all of nine games at Rexall this year. It's damn near Christmas - that's just silly. It's not like it's MSG, and the circus is in town, or Wrigley Field where snow isn't out of the question for the first four weeks of the year.

Adam Carolla's been preaching that for years. You should listen. But it's a safe bet that the start button is close to the zero, anyway. It never occurred to me to hit 2:22, and I'm like a rug on valium.

Awesome Wrestling Pictures

Even more awesome? I thought it was Freddie Blassie at a glance. -
It's not so much that I'm close-minded towards it, it's just that I haven't yet explored my options.

How I Spent My Strummer Vacation - 14 x 2.

BPSS and I were both on the clock, so it got a little muddled.

Could have quoted The Rocket to start the thread - this looks like a random ravioli rant now, and makes even less sense with the "mentioned above" line in the thread's opening post.

Was wrestling popular at your school?
CanadianGuitarist replied to Hadley's topic in General Wrestling
Just two? I'm astonished there's not more at every graduation - it writes itself if Pomp and Circumstance is played. -
She was singing with Lisa and Kelly at The Max. I don't remember what or why.
-
Ten minutes late on Kamp Krusty, which would have been my first pick. So, I'll take Lemon of Troy.

I don't remember it being very big when I was in high school, or at least, not that big, which is surprising given that I was in high school from 98-02, probably the biggest wrestling's ever been. I do remember in Grade 5 (95! of all years) that my brother and I got the Royal Rumble, and it snowed a bunch that night. I was surprised how many people were talking about Michaels' win and the Bret-Diesel match the following morning. The snow plows had done the parking lot, making a 3 foot hill, which coupled with how many people had seen the Rumble, led to an hour-long Royal Rumble at lunch break. -
The Things That Anger You Thread.

How much worse is SportsCenter compared to SportsCentre? I think the former is pretty good, but I haven't seen the American equivalent since...I don't even remember. What makes the American version so bad? They're pretty similar as far as production goes, aren't they? -
New Orleans at Chicago - Still right in the thick of it in the NFC North, and it's Chicago in December. The Bears have the potential to hugely overachive this season, and this is should help. EARLY Tampa Bay at Atlanta - I maintain my week 2 statement of Atlanta being "not great, but a pleasant surprise this year". Washington at Cincinnati Tennessee at Houston - Should be competitive, but the Titans keep rolling. Detroit at Indianapolis - 250 points for Indy. Green Bay at Jacksonville - A tough one. Both of these teams should be better, but I'll give the edge to the Pack, since they're scoring a lot (355 points, despite a disappointing 5-8 record). San Diego at Kansas City - Won't matter. San Francisco at Miami - Maybe the hardest game this week, but with the record of Western teams on the East coast, I'll play the odds. Buffalo at N.Y. Jets - The Jets aren't done. The Bills are. Seattle at St. Louis - Way too little too late, but Seattle hasn't looked too bad the last few weeks. LATE Minnesota at Arizona - Way more pressure on the Vikings now that the Cards have it locked. I like Minny. New England at Oakland Pittsburgh at Baltimore - Hunch. Denver at Carolina - Looked good Monday, and surely have some momentum after it. Denver could have the division locked up by kick-off, so they'll gear down a little. SUNDAY NIGHT FOOTBALL N.Y. Giants at Dallas - The 'Boys surely have to be shellshocked after a late loss, plus they lost to the Giants already this year. FOOTBALL ON MONDAY NIGHT Cleveland at Philadelphia - I'm going to contradict myself here a bit: Cleveland's been a disappointment this year. They have two wins on Monday night already, but both of those were fairly close - a late pick and a missed field goal could have easily meant a different outcome. Philly looks like they've got their stride back. Even with the nature of the Browns' MNF wins, I won't put money on it, but I'll take the Eagles.

All time? I'm gonna say one of Canadian Stampede, ECW Heatwave '98, Royal Rumble 2008, or Wrestlemania 14. Wrestlemania 17 or Royal Rumble 1992 are the most watchable as far as holding up against time, but Canadian Stampede was probably one of the proudest moments I've ever felt as a Canadian. ECW Heatwave was by far the best ECW PPV, and really induces nostalgia of ECW. Wrestlemania 14 was what really got me back into wrestling during my mark days as an early teen, in addition to the gratification of HBK getting his comeuppance from Survivor Series (I always liked Austin alot, even if Bret's my favourite all-time). I spent three years in an awesome bachelor pad (a bungalow) in St. Catharines, before moving to Calgary for most of 2008. The Royal Rumble 2008, in addition to being the best Rumble match in six or seven years (2004 no longer counts), had a certain 'event' feel to it - the end of an era at my house, coupled with quite a few buddies coming over to watch, lots of beer and good food, and the second installment of "CG's Rumble Pool". I won 70 bucks!

I'd like to hear, at least once in video game form, Bobby Heenan refer to himself as a 'broadcast journalist'.
