Yes and no to the above comment. If you, say, throw a cup of beer at a wrestler, pissing him off enough to the point where hes mad enough to fight you, how is that fair to the other paying fans in attendance, who just want to watch a show? This is especially true at indy shows, where he other guy waiting in the ring may have a chance to make a big splash blown. A lot of this thread will depend on circumstance. We could agree that say, a pat on the back is good, but there's always going to be that one crazy fan.

Sorry if this one has been since re-done. Bruce from Conneticut again Bruce from Conneticut from Page 1 wad dead. This one worked.

You're definitely not imagining it. When I envision the logo, I see it with the maple leaf, but for some reason I can't find a picture of it. If you have any WWF Magazines from 1997, I'm pretty sure there was a shirt sold with the maple leaf background. That's the only place I can think of seeing it. Or maybe look for pictures of Pillman, Neidhart, Owen or Bret from that era, as I'm sure one of them would have been wearing the logo on a shirt or jacket. yea it was on their shirt, I have some old wwf mags from back then (actually I have mags dating back to early 95) so I can prob scan that for you, PM me if you are interested. I may have sent you a PM, but I also drink to excess a lot. Can we get this posted before I go for my tat Sunday?

Anyone see the remarkably good finish in the Kraft-Nabisco yesterday? Far easier to watch based on Mickelson's run-away. Masters picks? It's my favourite week of the year and I'd say my favourite sporting event as well. Mickelson's performance would have put him in spot B, but I don't see Tiger's heart being in it, and as such, Mick's the man. My darkhorse pick is Luke Donald(let's agree anyone outside of the Big 5,for argument's sake, is a darkhorse) after a weekend-long debate with my dad. I'm not trying to come off as biased, but Weir deserves a bid as well, a win and T5th in the last two tourneys, and he's been playing faiirly well this year, and it's tough to imagine him not getting better on Sundays.

Yes, I can elaborate: As you may know, four Canadian soldiers were killed in Afghanistan this weekend. Stephen Harper's response was to leave the flags at half-mast. He will also not be allowing media at their funerals. I've tried to do that as non-biased as possible. Discuss. There's a veritable tonne of controversy over this North of the 49th. Now for the blame game: He also seems indifferent to Caledonia, and will not put a cap on GST on gasoline, which differs from his former campaign promise of "No GST if gas hits 85 a litre."

Stephen Harper < George W. Bush
CanadianGuitarist replied to CanadianGuitarist's topic in Current Events
Ok, I've read these all and been a bit more rational. I know this sounds like I'm hopping on a bandwagon, but I don't hoenstly have a problem with no media at the funeral. You did raise an intersting point, but I still think ultimately for now that the flag should be lowered. Everything else, yeah, I overstepped my bounds, I'd say. My bad. -
Toms and Flesch. I'm gonna stick with Toms either way, but was I allowed to take Mickelson anyway?

Fuckin overtime. I've got prolly six hours of combine sleep since Monday. This game has been ridiculously good in Montreal, altough nail-biting.

I was prime to agree with Bret at WM X, followed closely by Shamrock starting the run in on Raw on 1-4-99. But the ECW reunion, was by far, BY FAR, the most I've ever marked, drunk or sober.

How is it done? I mean Major League, for example, I could see as being all extras, since there weren't any real players in that. But let's say when real players are involved? Would there just be a posting on a team schedule for game attendees to know of in advance, a la giveaway days? The Curb Your Enthuisasm where he trips Shaq is what I was thinking of in particular.

If Monday was any indication, Calgary-Anaheim is going to be absolutely awesome to watch.

My first thought was, as well, Quinn in Vancouver. Most of the Leafs problems were not Quinn's fault, and more so Jr's. Quinn is not a bad coach by any means. However, it's simply the nature of the business that a coach has to go. Furthermore, it just seems to me that after nine years, it was tougher to get motivated for the same guy. I think most of us kinda new he'd be gone if Canada didn't win the gold, which again, isn't exclusively his fault.

ECW One Night Stand II-It's Official
CanadianGuitarist replied to ANKLELOCK's topic in The WWE Folder
No two ways about it. -
I hated it at the time(summer/spring of 2003) In retrospect, while the work was tedious, boring and low pay, it wasn't awful. It was kinda nice saying "nah, the hell with work today" once a week if I was hungover or whatever. It was also pretty stable paycheques once a week, and going between different locations at least kept your mind from going numb.

I never knew Snider had so much pull re: the Sixers. And though it's sort of a dead horse being beaten now, anything Clarke has done in the past five years fits the topic. Shit, I could be naked and would run out of digits to count his misdeeds.

I'm pretty drunk, so forgive my lack of eloquency: I haven't anticipated anything this much since the first time a girl took her top off in front of me. Fuck, think of all that's happened in the last 22 months. THE PLAYOFFS ARE FUCKING HERE! Best of all, alot of these matchups, like RedBaron, could go both ways. Look at the west. Colorado is a way better team than seventh place. Imagine how far Edmonton could go if they pull it together against Detroit (and they did take five points of eight against the Red Wings this season). Eight superb teams are going home after he first round, this is the most wide open playoffs I can remember in some time.

Anyone got any crazy Autograph Signing stories?
CanadianGuitarist replied to spman's topic in General Wrestling
Hood, we'll call it a draw. But I like your Bam Bam avatar, so we have a leader. My buddy deliberately got Bret Hart riled up when he met him by saying "Wow, it's a thrill to meet you. I'd still like to meet Ric Flair". It took me a week before I talked to him again. -
ECW One Night Stand II-It's Official
CanadianGuitarist replied to ANKLELOCK's topic in The WWE Folder
That's not unfair of you, and you raise a good point that most would semi-agree with. However, I think of it sometimes. It seems inevotable that somehow HHH or Kane would be a "new" ECW mainstay. And fuck that. Even if they gave Heyman the ball to run with, they'd find a way to intrude somehow and fuck it up. Plus would we really want a "Steph vs Russo Let's See Who Can Write Worse TV" angle? -
Poor. Fixed, though. Esche will start game one. This is a quality week line up with 4/20 being the segway to two days of playoff hockey.

Even if Buffalo does win, I can't envision them going that deep just on the grounds that they're gonna be pretty beat up by Philly, more so than any of the other first round winners. That said, there's a lot of talent on this team, and they could easily be a darkhorse. 1) Detroit vs 8) Edmonton - Detroit in 6 2) Dallas vs 7) Colorado - Dallas in 6 3) Calgary vs 6) Anaheim - Calgary in 5 4) Nashville vs 5) San Jose - San Jose in 5 1) Ottawa vs 8) Tampa - Ottawa in 4 2) Carolina vs 7) Montreal - Carolina in 5 3) New Jersey vs 6) NY Rangers - New Jersey in 5 4) Buffalo vs 5) Philadelphia - Buffalo in 7 Is anyone keeping track of these?

Johnny Damon just made a fine catch off the wall, to prevent extra bases for Vernon Wells, and what would have been a 4-2 score for the Yanks. EDIT: Glaus hammers it, and it's now 4-3. The Score was really hyping up the Johnson-Chacin pitcher's duel.

The ticker on The Score reads Canucks News Conference for 2 p.m. It may be a typo, as the Kings also have one this afternoon, where they'll announce the firing of Dave Taylor. Anyone heard anything re: the Canucks? Crawford, I suspect? Wild one last night in Anaheim. The Mighty Burkes prevailed 4-3, but 102 penalty minutes handed out. It should be a great first round match-up. Also, the Score's ticker read last night "Lightining fire AHL coach Dirk Graham; give him undetermined NHL job". I just found that funny, reminding me of the Seinfeld where George tries to get fired to work for the Mets. Is any player more old school than Dirk? I'd say not.
-
How does that relate to the playoffs? That joke was eight years in the making. Once positioning is set, a prediction thread could be in order, a la our golf pick'em.

The other method is to show up in "no condition to perform duty", which happened to me. Drunk? How come I didn't think of that? Hmm. In any event, that's ballsy and brilliant.
