Live Crowds: Which do you prefer being a part of the most?
CanadianGuitarist replied to NoCalMike's topic in Sports
Leena was spot on for golf and tennis: Golf is, while certainly not unenjoyable, taxing to go to. This isn't a knock on tennis, but I was surprised how much I enjoyed it live. Never seen NASCAR or a basketball game. Football was pretty good, but as has been mentioned a few times, pretty rough with fans that get a little too drunk/rowdy. Baseball and hockey are definitely better live, and both for essentially the same reason: Lots of little stuff players do that you don't necessarily get to see on television. I'd rather sit higher up than field/ice level, especially for hockey, where it makes it easier to see the play develop. -
Part of my Journalism training was covering court reports. It was pretty interesting, and we inveitably played jury the entire time. I don't think I'd have a problem doing jury duty at all. This is uncanny. I was just thinking about Homer Simpson's advice "The trick is to say you're prejudiced against all other races". Then Curb Your Enthusiasm came on, and Larry used a race card to get out of jury duty. Crazy.

Isn't that the girl whose mother is dying, and whose wish it was to see her daughter play an LPGA event? Oh, and White Rat is Billy Mayfair. That sounds right....on both counts, come to think of it. She's playing with Annika.

Peters, that's fucking awesome. Even if Atlanta misses the playoffs, I can easily see them taking the Southeast title next year. That could be the strongest division in the league 12 months from now.

Much as my buddies and I discussed last night over whether or not you could sue a church if you slipped on Holy Water, it takes an awful, awful big balls to sue anything affilliated with God. This seems like a Conan skit, but I wouldn't be surprised at all to see these sell well.

That was a good one for sure, I was a Hardy fan early in his career and there was something about that moment that gave me goosebumps. JR's announcing was definitely a big part of that. Haws bah gahd had a really good one with the Hogan turn, but for my money, the quoted Hardy one is the best.

Apparently 2K6 has been freezing alot for 360. OF course, it was Gamefaqs where I read this, so who's to say? Can anyone confirm/deny?

White Rat? Sorry, I didn't see any golf this week, just the recap on thegolfchannel.com Badds gets his first win on the US tour. Good for him, he had been close a few times. He's also won the Aussie open twice(consecutively at 18 and 19 years old, if I'm not mistaken) I was drunk when I heard it, but there's a 12 year old playing in next week's LPGA stop. Fuck, I'd better be right. I'd have some explaining to do if I imagine 12 year old girls when I'm drunk.

You don't think Tampa Bay can get a point against Washington at home? No, I don't. Tampa's goaltending is inconsistent as hell. They were very lucky to win last night. ^ Fact. However, Atlanta will have played 3 in 4 on Tuesday night. So, I'm going to say Montreal Tampa go 7-8. Looks good with New Jersey winning over Philly today. I'm sure the Sabres would much rather face the Devils.

I called my grandfather last night while drunk to congratulate him over the Leafs win over the Sens. I didn't realise that Tampa had lost, and apologised to him probably 10 times today. My dad, an equally big Leafs fan, has been saying it's been over since the weekend in Montreal. He was actually pulling against them the last two weeks, saying no Leafs at the spring dance means a huge overhaul in Hogtown. Also, as if I hadn't mentioned enough that the Hart should go to Thornton, Cheechoo now has 56 and has the Richard lead.

Anyone got any crazy Autograph Signing stories?

Balls Mahoney hit on my mother at a meet and greet. We got tickets out of it. *Wins. -
The burning of the casket was, while cheesy, kind of the way, I felt to give some heat to Kane. Agreed with what you said, but it wasn't totally unnecessary.
-
Even more ridiculous, I say. Conversely to the McDonald's Spicy Chicken(which is the first I've heard of it), their Buffalo Chicken toasted deli sandwich is exceptional.

Really to Kornhesier? Hmm. YES to Popper. Also, can I lump every Greenday fan into one person? -
What DVDs would you like to see the WWE release?
CanadianGuitarist replied to iggymcfly's topic in The WWE Folder
This came into the Wal*Mar I work at. $6.88 Crappy? NEVER! It features Skinner! SKINNER! I marked like there was no tomorrow...almost as much as I did ove the detail that guy went into over the Blackman DVD... Bret Hart vs Skinner Two, yes two, HBK vs Janetty HBK vs Duggan. I believe the fifth is HBK/Perfect. -
Who exactly is Scherer? I have to admit I'd never heard of him. How respected is he? From what I've seen here, Meltz is the only respected one. The reason I bring this up is that I'm a journalism grad, and my mother once suggested getting into wrestling writing, but the only guys I I really know are Meltzer. Foley wrote in his book that he expected Meltz to be in hiding a la Salman Rushdie. There's also, of course, Scott Keith, who seems awfully beloved around here.

I was very impressed with it, myself. What exactly is Sierra Mist? I work with some Americans who absolutely swear by it, but it's only available south of the 49th, isn't it? From what I've gathered, it's essenitally 7-up, right?

Latrell Sprewell was a pretty good one. And despite his name appaeraing a few times, I don't think I'd have thought O'Reilly, who also, in retrospect, makes a lot of sense to me. I don't hate Bob Saget nearly as much as I used to, he'll sneak his wasy off the list. 1) Courtney Love 2) George W. 3) David Spade 4) Jeremy Roenick 5) Dr. Phil Although Dr. Phil, if provoked, could be a hell of a fight. -
1) Shine on, you Crazy Diamond i-v 2) Welcome to the Machine 3) Have A Cigar 4) Wish You Were Here 5) Shine on, you Crazy Diamond vi-ix Which three were you referring to? Though it hardly matters, as that's the best album by ratio for my money of all time.

I'm fine either way...like a bisexual. I would think we could use it a second just in the event of needing a tiebreak or what have you I'd say, anyone otuside of the top 30 in the world rankings or who hasn't won in two years...I don't know, does that make DL3 or Weir or Scott an underdog. Meh, we can work something out. Anyone else see Els saying Lefty is now the man to beat at Augusta, not Tiger? Imagine if Mick had learned to win a major in 2000(or earlier, as he could/would/should have).
-
Any combination of an Edmonton win, Vancouver loss in regulation, or Colorado win knocks the Canucks out. San Jose's win last night makes it official. Thornton for Hart. No two ways about it. He's only two back of adding the Ross as well. Pardon my slant, but fuck I hate that Jagr.
-
Yes, they could. One into the water. Drop 2, hit 3 ten yards over the green to be safe. Chip. Three putt. That's an awfully conservative seven. And I'll take Leonard this week.
-
Does everyone really need to pick a different player? That could be troublesome for majors, where the first guy in with Tiger or Phil would have a significant advantage. That said, I did pick him first. Everyone should get two picks. One must be a darkhorse, in the interest of tiebreak. I mean, is anyone not going to pick Appelby next January?
-
Love three times, no less. (By which I mean his name is DL3, my tentative pick is Justin Leonard). I can't believe I didn't catch on the Norman collapse. They didn't mention it much this week, did they?
-
I'm dfeinitely in, but lemme look at the field first. What happened ten years ago this weekend?
