    Oh, Canada

True. But the CPC is no longer the PC. Worse...Much, much worse... Pettigrew lost? He was up late...

    Oh, Canada

Baron just called me, Chris... He says our names should be AmericanChris and YankeeGuitarist..... Yeah, an alliance would be ideal for me as I'm about halfways between NDP and Libs, but on the whole? Nothin.

    Oh, Canada

Aforementioned Baron said two years...but it took nine years for the last PC government to get the boot. There's ALREADY talk of a left alignment ala Reform/Alliance-Pc a few years ago, but I think they're too far apart for talks to even begin.

    Oh, Canada

That was an early poll. Another shutout. The really interesting thing is that the Tories are definitely going to need the support of the Bloc to form a government. I was expecting them to be close enough to 154 that they'd be able to form a coalition with the NDP. True, but I couldnt envision the NDP and CPC aligning, even briefly. RedBaron's at work rill midnite, I can't wait to see what's on his mind. I'm officially sick to my stomach...although I've had a few wobbly pops which doesn't help, though it kinda does.

This has not been a good year for the Republicans.

Seems to be a good year for them in Canada, as they're about to take power....

    Oh, Canada

Yep, they've been up by about 15 for 15 minutes or so....the Left Coast needs to bail out the Libs, which won't happen...surprisingly low results for the NDP and BQ, with 50ish and 25ish a piece...the Greens are on pace to win a seat.

Leaf guy who's stuck at work, it's definitely a good thing....My brother's confident as shit in the Leafs, but when I told him the Sens were -425 favourites, he made me give him odds on a stinkin 10 dollar bet. He's going by the Monty Burns theory of "They always screw up, so they're due for a good performance".

    Oh, Canada

Things are parallel, more or less to 2004. I don't recall there being a six or seven point CPC lead two years ago beforehand, maybe 2 or 3. Things don't look good. On the other hand, a roundtable discussion during lunch at work yesterday determined Paul Martin's recent speech of "Vote for us, we're not that far from the NDP and they won't win anyway" worked on many of us at said table...I'll probably follow, despite the fact I'm wering a Jack Layton button.

Has anyone considered Eric Staal for Hart? What the hell is Carolina doing atop the NHL standings?

True. The new arena would be the smallest in the league by nearly 1,000 seats. I don't follow.....

Really? Not surprising after a couple 12,000 a game seasons during the early '00's....Surprising after the early 90's with a moderately priced Gretzky.

    Favorite Moments in Sports

I'd forgoten how good some of these were, especially Fourth and 26. Check my signature for my four favourites.... Daniel Igali kissing the Canadian flag after winning gold in Sydney gets honourable mention, despite being #10 on my all time list, something about this stands out as being very memorable...even more so than Greztky to Lemeiux, Carter's homerun, the Habs 93 Cup, Jack's 86 Masters and Koivu's return game. Bad: The Raiders QF in 2002. For fuck's sake. Does the lockout count as event? I was basically braced for the announcement on Sept. 15, but I didn;t expect it to last thaaaaaaaat long.

Hartford > Kansas City. Isn't Hartford really pissed with the NHL over the Whalers or something? Also, as much as I'd love to see Quebec or Winnipeg with a team, I'm not holding my breath on it. The Winnipeg Arena is currently being demolished. Also, Eugene Melynk reports it'll still be a few years before the Sens turn a profit, provided they dont make the Eastern Finals...this with the cap and 19,000 a game...That's a bad sign for anyone hoping to see a return of the Nords.

    Spoonman

I realise this probably doesn't wwarrant a thread...but maybe it does as I'm certainly not the one one who could have noticed it. The bridge part of Soundgarden's Spoonman...What in God's name is he saying? AZlyrics.com says "Thank you good night people"....but it doesnt even sound close. Anyone help me out?

SpikeTV Cancels TNA Monday Night Special In February

If there was any remaning doubt that Leena was Mike..... Yeah, I really don't get this whatsoever. As a prvious poster said, Monday night from January-August is wrestling night. It wouldnt re-luanch a Monday night war, but it would expose TNA to a LOT of people.

Not to one up you, but the only famous person my mom ever met was Ballz Mahoney. He hit on her. I got free wrestling tickets out of it.

Impact scores a record high rating for Monday Replay

Even say, 11-12 would be good, I think...the audience is already in a wrestling frame of mind from Raw, and this way there's no direct competition, which TNAs not ready for.

I read the Berard thing has McCabe at least four times before I realised who it was. Big night for former leafs, as Green also scores twice in said Boston-Philly game.

    Oh, Canada

Interesting way to correct a double post, by the way... Baron is absolutely right, I hope...I can't see the CPC's keeping up multiple terms. Hey, anyone but Sheila Copps, I say. Although, as much as I like Jack Layton's candour, I'd say Paul Martin is by far the most fit of any federal leader to run the show...though I don't really know Jim Harris.
