Points well taken.

From that link... Yeah, that type of fair and non biased writing is noteworthy .... Doesn't matter. Harper might as well change hislast name to Shepherd, since we're 3 days away from becoming a nation of sheep.

You're right. Scuba, I second the arrival of the American flag upon our lawns...it seems inevitable at this point. I will NEVER understand why so many are doing a complete 180 and going CPC on Monday, simply because of anger towards the Grits. It'd be like rooting for a new hockey team every time your team made a stupid play....Max and NSKie would have had about 15 different jerseys were this the case

Thats pretty well what I was gonna say. Ask this question in about 18 months, and then there'd be a debate.
-
You got the ball rolling for me, but I need a bout six month shift ahead, say November 96 to January 99.

While he got retardedly big pops, I was never a big fan of the Rock on the mic. Foley, Piper, Jake and yes, Mitchell were my first instincts.

Abortion: I'm pro choice, espeically in a case of rape or incest. It should not be used as a birth control, but why should a child go to a potnetially shitty parent for negligent, financial or unfit reasons? My brother, who will be a father in May, at first tried to get the mother to abort, but said if push came to shove, he probably wouldnt have been able to do it. I think I agree. Free Speech- For it...there is such a thing as tact and taste howver. In essence, don't piss in the pool. Gay Rights- Equal rights. Every step of the way. Drug: Legalize it. I really don't think legalizing it will make us a nation of stoners. The jobs created would be incredible..Let the government regulate it, it works pretty well for the Beer Store and LCBO. It could create jobs in growing, distrubting, etc. It would cut down on gang related crimes. I wwouldn't feel right seeing it on the shelf in Wal*Mart, however. Religion: This was the only thing I agreed with SPMan on. I believe in the Christian concept of God and Jesus and getting to heaven, but not in any kind of organized religion. I confirmed with a bible thumper buddy that this was not hypocritical. Affirmative Action: I don't think we're as liberated racially as we like to think, and indirectly, we have to bend over a little for minorites. Well, not bend over, but over do it "hey look at me, im not racist, see!"....50 years from now, this category will be n/a, thankfully. Welfare: It's not as abused as the stereotype goes...Help those in need, that's a foundation of life as far as I'm concerned. Israel: I generally side with Palenstine. Ultimately? Draw a fucking line. Share. How has no one seen this yet? Foreign Policy: The UN is a great idea, but needs a bit of revamping. No country should have an army. Also, there can be no successful war on terrorism, because one countrys freedom fighter is another's terrorist. Campaign Finance: While I don't necessarily think it's fair for say, a whole corporation to donate to a party, if the cheque is written to the CPC by Conrad Black as opposed to Holligner Media, that's fine. By the way, he can lick my balls. Term Limits: Nah. We don't have em in Canada per se, and I don't see the need for em. Gun Control: Don't see the need for em, never will...However, the Libs once suggested to ban handguns. That's a pretty borderline infringement of civil liberties...They need to be better regulated and registered. Death Penelty: Pro, but not for the traditional reasons. Some guys won't change, simple as that. However, a lot of prisoners still have families who love them and would see them die with dignity than get the shit kicked out of them in prison or immedialy upon release. Iraq: SHouldnt have been there in the first place, and as much as I'd like to see them out, i think they're in too deep to leave now..could be 15 years before it's safe again. The Pledge / Prayer: Optional. I refused to say it when I lived in the States for a year...but I didn't make a stink about it. When it was said, I kept quiet, no one said anything...It's not gonna change. Patriot Act: I'm still conflicted about this...I think it's wrong in principle, but I doubt if it will just get slapped on any Joe Blow for no reason. Yep, still a hippy.

* Did so today to the office. Does anyone else still think it's kinda weird to hear "This is X Team's last game against the Western Conference this year?", which there's been a lot of since Friday?
-
Ever see the cover of the movie Instinct? It's uncanny. Baron, I'm surprised you didn't mention D-Lo was your theme in No Mercy.
-
Makes sense, but I don't see him going to Colorado after the success Roy enjoyed there. Also, do the Habs need an iffy goalie when they have 3 or 4 between Montreal and Hamilton?
-
Sooooooooo conflicted about it.
-
TSN.ca "Backchecking" says the rumour being kicked around is Bertuzi for Theodore? God help us.
-
Holy cow. I just said "WOW!" aloud upon reading those. So where's Luongo going? With Luongo essentially on the market, does that effectively keep Biron in Buffalo? I really don't think Julien was the problem, but if anyone can light a fire under Ribero and Bonk, it'll be Gainey. And Scuba, while you're not incorrect, the Habs still don't have a policeman, and havent for about 7 years. To, I think nskie, who said Markov was going to be really good someday...we heard that one 3 years ago. We're in big trouble if we cant beat the Sharks tonight...Tampa, Atlanta and New Jersey all won yesterday.

A buddy of mine got one for his birthday from an ex. He said he loves it, but would have never paid the 300 for it. Fun fact: Another buddy used to run an indy fed. He said their belts were actually WWF replicas with custom made stickers on them.

Maybe 5 or 6 of those have been confirmed in books or whatever. I'm not discrediting ALL of the others, but come on..
-
I somehow have the Centre Ice package...I'm not paying it, but there's free hockey on tv right now It'll be nice to hear English Montreal coverage apart from Pierre MacGuire.
-
Agreed. Other than his so-so feud with Xpac, Dlo was awesome throughout 1998. The look on his face when he beat HHH for the Euro-title The Nation is still my favourite stable of all time, D-Lo was often a sometimes too comedic to take seriously as a full feldged title threat.

You've gotta be fucking kidding me...source?

I'll suck your dick if Maloney doesn't win your riding...don't quote me on that, Dave still owes me a teabagging for Tampa's Cup win two years ago. Even with all the support from Niagara Falls, Nicholson always takes his riding on the strength of 85% of Fort Erie voting CPC. Since my voter card still says Niagara Falls, I'll vote there, as Liberal Lastewka appears poised to take St. Kitts again.

We've been getting them sporadically at my Wal-Mart, 2 or 3 at a time, maybe once every other week or three times a month. The rumour now is mid February for the next big shipment.

I don't even have a little of sympathy for Therien. He knwew the team he was going to coach when he accepted the job, and didn't need to needle-dick his way into shaming his players on camera. For shame, Therien.

A conversation with my buddy just now about the cavalcade of good sports on this week (NFL FInal Week and Wild Card games, All Canadian Triple Header today in the NHL, College Bowl Series, first week of the PGA Tour season) got into a debate about the best time of year for sports. Thoughts? I'm going with Early April...I'm a little biased as The Masters is my favourite sports event of the year, but baseball is just starting, March Madness is winding down, the big events in curling are all taking place, and hockey playoffs start. Discuss. Mid-October should also be up there, I would think.
-
I'm not going to try to convince you he doesn't deserve the Pearson....but I could be playing for the Senators instead of Alfredson and they'd still be the best team in the NorthEast. Jagr for Hart if the Rangers make the playoffs.

Apparently Harper has said we wouldn't recognise Canada when he's done with it. He's also said, I'm told, that he inspired Bush. This not-withstanding clause thing could potentially be a shot in the foot for Martin. I've also been told that he's said it because Harper wants to use it to ban abortion and Martin thinks that Harper will screw himself this way....Apparently Martin's alleged banning of the clause would never happen anyway, nor should it.
