The Bucs were the only team to not win a game in a season, correct? '76? I remember saying in this thread (or more accurately, a similar one) a few weeks ago that the Lions probably wouldn't go 0-16, but I'm going to welch on that statement. As mentioned, it's a little unfair to assess the Bucs as many of us never saw them, but in principle, a team that goes 0-16 should be categorized as worse by default than an 0-14 squad. FWIW, I'm still new enough to football I probably couldn't throw my hat into the "worst team" discussion without doing an awful lot of research first.

This - still the best work in the business, even with the so-so hi-def cameras used outside of Toronto. Every person should see Coach's Corner at least once in their lives, they've got a great panel (I hate Al Strachan and Mike Milbury, but they know their stuff), Jim Hughson is currently the best announcer in the world, and a lot of fans still like Bob Cole for some reason or another. Finally, Ron Maclean might be my favourite tv personality ever.

The Simpsons Character Draft

With that slap on the back: I've never been called an adult before. Been tried as one....I'll do it! -
At no point do I understand what you're trying to say. What am I missing here? Are you saying that you're going to argue with me about grilling which is tantamount to playing golf with Tiger Woods? What? I don't even care that much. And I've never used the edit button without noting that I did, as per staff policy, I'LL HAVE YOU KNOW. Tiger Woods is very good at golf, to the same degree that Czech is very well-spoken and good at arguing. I am not Tiger-Woods good, but there've been times when I've successfully mimicked facets of his game, which can't be said of weekend athletes in any other sport. If I can pull a rabbit from my hat twice a season and hit the ball 300 yards, I can pull a rabbit from my hat to prove my point to you.

This quote followed "....assuming I'm running it." Fuck it, I'll run it. -
For convenience, yes, but great grilling only comes from charcoal. That's common sense. Fuck that noise. I'm not here to get into the endless propane-charcoal debate, but to say ONLY charcoal = great grilling is absurd. For the record, when you and my buddy Baron had your online slapfight over video game music in September, I used the following analogy: "Arguing with Czech online, with an edit button? That's like playing golf with Tiger and giving him mulligans." Well, Czech - the great thing about golf? I'll never throw a fastball like Roy Halladay, I'll never skate like Patrick Kane. But I've hit 300 yard drives, I've made birdies - I'll argue for propane here.

So I guess this is my goodby for a good while.

I'm still in a few weeks, if applicable. Since I no longer work for Wal*Mart, I'm a big fan of Matt's "rental policy", and may do likewise.

The Simpsons Character Draft

I redeemed myself draft-wise, I'd say. Thus, I'll happily hand the reins over to my boy, KKC. There seems to be a lot of the same fear: "I haven't seen many newer ones". I'm beginning to think that enough posters are in this thing that few newer ones will be taken anyway. I also agree with voting for the character draft, and I'm in for this bad boy. -
I remember the arrest, but not the fake accusation. That photoshop is pretty funny, dammit.

Still Fly and I have the exact same picks this week, both here and on my bar pools, save one. Washington's gotta feel the heat a little bit with as many as seven teams realistically vying for Wild Card spots. The Giants got a good, well-earned win last week to officially take the throne as football's best team. I'm not saying they're going to rest on their laurels, but I see the Skins coming out with a little more ooomph.

What am I missing there? I've heard a few people say that now. Oh, and idiot Pierre Macguire had this gem during the second period. "Lot of fans have been hard on O'Byrne, and Patrice Brisebois' been really hard on him too. Couple times on the bench now, he's slapped O'Bryne on the leg and told him what a great job he's doing tonight, really encouraging him."

Even watching the game live, I didn't appreciate just how good it was until the replay. Anyone could admire Franzen's great skating and stickwork in undressing O'Byrne, not to mention his off-balance backhand. What I noticed during the replay was his peripheral vision and timing, firing the backhand off the screen caused by a streaking Wing forward with a Hab on his tail. All in all, some lucky bounces, but a solid win for the Habs - just what they needed.

The Simpsons Character Draft

Yes...assuming I'm running it. I'm thinking we'll base the round numbers on how many sign up: I'd like to see somewhere between 200-250 episodes picked. -
Far be it for me to second-guess Austin....it wasn't the turn that was bad, and it wasn't the McMahon-Austin alliance that was bad - it was the needless two-man powertrip, which just tied in with the disgrace that was the summer of '01 in the E.

A recurring theme at TSM has been "What if we had threads for big moments before our time?" BATB 96 or SS 97, for example. They'd be something.

The Simpsons Character Draft

Since convo is dwindling, my thanks to all participants for a well-attended and fun draft. Simpsons episode draft? -
As long as I'm bitching about HHT - in the span of ninety seconds, Strachan just used the word "dickheads" as well as, along with Ludzik, multiple uses of "Soviet Union" and "Soviets". Groan.

Yeah, this has the potential to be an awesome seller based on nostalgia, so I'd like to see them go full-tilt on that: Blue bar steel cage, old-school themes and venues, etc.

It's such a subjective thing. What determines a Legend of Wrestlemania, and for that matter, has there been a guideline or criteria given by the game's makers? Big Show's been in two of the most unique WM matches ever, should he be in? Tito Santana lost at nine straight Wrestlemanias, should he be in? I'm all over this, though, provided it's not littered with current wrestlers. I like the "WrestleFest of our generation" analogy.

What, no updated standings? Picks by PM to follow.

Since starting six Habs is beyond ridiculous - gentlemen, your all-star picks? East: G: Tim Thomas, with sincere condolences to Henrik. D: Mike Komisarek D: Mike Green F: Alex Semin F: Jeff Carter F: Marc Savard West: G: Roberto Luongo. Doesn't matter if he's not playing then - rules were bent for his captaincy, rules can be bent for him to play in the ASG. If I have to name someone else, Kiiprusoff or Backstrom. D: Shea Weber D: Dan Boyle F: Anze Kopitar F: Jarome Iginla F: Patrick Kane Anyone else watch Hardcore Hockey Talk on The Score? I love the 11:00 edition (even with Ludzik and Strachan, who I can take or leave), but it's night and day between that and the godforsaken 6:00 show. Why do television producers hear cash registers when they open the show to text messages?

1. How do you feel about the Dallas/Detroit tradition? How would you change it, if at all? I have no problem with it. The flex scheduling during Sunday night seems a little ridiculous, and with all the surprising play of six or seven teams, I'm fine with continuing tradition. 2. Are there ten QBs in the league -right now- that you would take over Matt Ryan? If so, who? If not, does that blow your mind? Where do you rate him? Ten? Probably not. Let's see: Brady and Romo all get exemptions. Both Mannings, Favre, Brees. Warner and Collins are having MVP-calibre seasons. What's that, eight? Ryan's ninth. It's surprising, but not mind-boggling, given the injuries and starting inconsistencies around the league. 3. Who is the best player in the AFC west? Cutler, for now. 4. Where does Donovan McNabb play next season? I can't explain it, but NFC North. 5. Why does Seattle suck so bad? It can't all be Hasselback, but I really don't know.

The Simpsons Character Draft

That would have been a great fuckin' pick. He was on my shortlist, but I figured someone would scoop him up, so I wasn't too attached to picking him.
