Watching classic NHL on TSN this November on my break from work. Marking out over the players I grew up watching. Game 1 of the 1994 Western Quarters, Calgary vs Vancouver. Watching Bure, Mclean, Linden, The Courtnalls, Babych, Niuewendyk. Oh man, I loved it.

Baltimore, Walker Texas Rangers, Boston and The Evil Empire lose, while the Jays, and Twins, albeit late, pull out wins. Fucking Hill is my hero. Who's this Koskie again at third?

Even as a mark, I didn't get pumped over Tajiri chanting ECW. The crowd didn't pop, either. Bad sign, as Tajiri WAS ECW.

Best Worker Benoit still gets the nod. Angle and Benjamin get very very close honourable mention. Most Improved I'm going with Edge. I really can buy him as a legit World Champ. Spot of the Year The blocked Superkick into a spin kick was incredible, as were a lot from MITB Ladder Match. I don't know why, but Benoit's broken nose diving headbutt is the most memorable to me. Biggest Dissapointment Batista's run as champ. Not really his fault, but still. Best Match Considering I haven't cared about wrestling for a long time, the emotion I felt rooting against HBK at WMXXI ensures that HBK-Angle takes the honour. Funniest Moment All of the Taxi Driver commercial. And I know it was a one liner, but I loved "I got arrested. That's right. Because I stole the show!" Best PPV Rumble. Mostly because it's the rumble.

Too late to really start a May 24-30, I feel. Couple good ones this weekend. Boston in the Bronx for a 3 game set, Pale Hosers against the Walker Texas Rangers. I get the feeling the AL East matchup will really set the tone for the rest of the year.

God, I'd love to see Callis as the colour guy. I love Gertner, but I think he'd be better suited to introduce the Dudleys.

Shamrock, Goldust, LOD and Austin vs The Hart Foundation, Canadian Stampede. As a Canadian, the ending to this match and follow up after the pin was about as great a moment a Canadian Wrestling fan could get. Benoit, HHH, HBK, WM XX Sloppy wrestling, but a good solid match and finally for Benoit. Andre vs Hogan, WM III Biggest match of all time, hype wise. I still mark for the bodyslam. Name me one other bodyslam you mark out for. Anyone. Savage vs Steamboat, WM III Probably the best match I've ever seen. If any match can contend for that crown, though, it'd be Bret vs Owen, WM X Finally got to see how good Owen was. 25 minutes of pure wrestling at its finest. Angle vs. Benoit, RR 2003 Unreal. Just about as good as it gets, especially in the post Attitude, 'fuck wrestling, yay storyline' era. Raven vs Terry Funk, Barely Legal My favourite ECW moment of all time hands down, when Funk got the pin. Great to see, from a mark standpoint, Dreamer extract some revenge on Raven. Dudleys vs Dreamer, ECW Hardcore Tv, August 99 Despite what I said about hating Raven, this was incredible, and a little before the IWC took off, so I didn't see it comin whatsoever. My third favourite ECW moment, sandwiching Whipreck getting the strap. Bret vs Perfect, SS 91 Find a better worked match. Anywhere. Ok, you probably could, but this was still fantastic. A tie between, and sorry, this is kinda shitty, but any match involving Crazy/Tajiri and Awesome/Tanaka.

It's thinking out loud on my behalf, but when did tapping out officially replace a referee simply calling for the bell on behalf of the wrestler? I always remember, in my mark days, a referee attending to a wrestler in say, the Sharpshooter. And he would just call for the bell if wrestler b called it quits. I recall watching Bret Hart tap on Raw in 97 to the anklelock, while a referee was knocked out, which was the first tap out I ever saw outside of UFC. I honestly can't remember the last time I saw the scenario I described above, as opposed to the tap out. Anyone fill me in?
