Wrestlers who were the biggest marks...
CanadianGuitarist replied to iggymcfly's topic in General Wrestling
Stop the presses, but I agree with Mike. It's time for Bret to let it go. I also agree with Hunter's Torn Quad to an extent, that it's brought up to often on WWF TV for Bret to let it go entirely. This is coming from the biggest Hart mark known to man. Vince was shitty to him and Bret has every right in the world to be pissed. But 'screwed' implied he would be unable to work again, or something to that effect. Vince was a dickhead, nothing more. Warrior, Lawler, Goldberg and HBK to answer the thread. -
Really? i recall him frequently talking about growing up in Winnipeg, and, in a pretty good bit with HBK a few years ago, becoming "Mr. Canada" until HBK mentioned he lived in Florida

I'd think against Kane at Wrestlemania 14.

96 World Cup, 98 Olympic Men's Hockey tie for first overall. Ben Johnson in 88 and The Strike come in a close tie behind. Interestingly, not so much this year's NHL lockout, which I saw coming for about 3 years. 94's was pretty devestating, however.

Lance Storm got on the mic at an ECW House Show while fighting Super Crazy, and said "What are you saying USA for? I'm Canadian and he's from Mexico. What are you, a bunch of idiots?"

I predicted Phil Mickelson to win every major between 2001 and 2004. I seriously predicted him to win at least four of them, the rest of them was my being a fan boy.

I did too. And I thought he'd be revitalized in Pittsburgh and Minnesota.

World Leaders: A bunch of lying douche bags?
CanadianGuitarist replied to cbacon's topic in Current Events
!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! MARK OUT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Definitely. I tend to side opposite Mike(not to be a dick, but he's clearly out arguing) but Bang Bang Bang wins, regardless of what is replied on other side. -
I loved that too.

Does the public know it's no longer WWF?
CanadianGuitarist replied to CBright7831's topic in The WWE Folder
No, they don't. My email is through the Golf Channel. Not 30 seconds after reading this thread, I checked my email, which included an editorial by Brian Hammons, an excellent write with a terrific accuracy of facts, especially with golf. 'World Wrestling Federation' appeared four times in his thoughts, not one WWE. So there. Although I still vastly prefer WWF anyway. -

That might be the greatest sell line ever. -=Mike If you're not there, you better be dead! Or in jail! -
N/A, as it's actually War Machine by Kiss.

Good call. New Jersey Devils still use it. During my mark days, i had all the WWF entrance theme CD's. My brother, whom, at the time, I saw about every 3 or 4 months, and I were watching wrestling when a commercial for the Anthology CD came on. "How many songs would you listen to on there? How many could you put on your car stereo and drive too?" The Brood was a definite, along with Slow Chemical, maybe the Hitman. This, by the way, is from a non mark. The Brood is big, indeed.

What political speech(es) inspire you the most?
CanadianGuitarist replied to a topic in Current Events
Forget political speeches. Regardless of political orientation, that's the greatest words I've ever heard, and I think we can pretty well all agree on that. That speech got a round of appluase from a crowd as cynical as my high school. I'm not kidding. Even though the speech was from a Buffalo news station, broadcast on a video screen in our auditorium( that I honestly called the Titan Tron), a bunch of grade niners who'd been making out through the whole thing started clapping. A good speech indeed, even if I hate Blair. -
Things that seemingly everyone hated

Far and away the best entrance music in wrestling history, for my money. -

They still wouldn't have money, since they'd be fucking billions of dollars in debt if we ran their countries "our way". Hey, you're doing that in Iraq, how's that working out? To be fair, though, your point is somewhat valid, probably 60 percent, but not entirely true. God yes. -
Why does the ring crew continually leave the sledgehammer under the ring? They can't find a safer place for it?

I move for a bad court thing. A mistrial? Right, thats why you're the judge and I'm the law talking guy. Someone has to get this damn quote, I said it at least 5 times yesterday, all to no avail. I made sloppy joes(which I actually did, thus being able to use this line) That's not fun!

Watched em both in Grade 10 English and Religion. Speaking of Brendan Fraser, I laugh my ass off over Dudley Do Right.

If I get an HDTV(not HD Ready), do I need a cable box or anything special? I've heard two different things: 1) I don't need anything, an HD broadcast will appear on my screen when available, and if the show is not HD, it will appear as usual NTSC format. 2) I need a cable box, and I have to punch in higher numbers, say Channel 300 for CBC, Channel 301 for CTV, etc. Channels in usual NTSC format will appear as usual, in my case Channel 6 for CBC, 8 for CTV, etc.

It seems that most teams are now opting the dark shoulders with the white colour chests for the jerseys.

I know its a Mexican-American celebration of some sort, but that's about it. Isn't Mexican Indepedence Day September 15th?
-
Hell yes. But you almost have to be Canadian to appreciate some of the jokes in it.

Really? I loved it. Why compare movies to previous works? Gotta be open minded towards every movie. Just because it's not as good as Pulp Fiction or Resevoir Dogs(but what is?), does that make Kill Bill bad? No. With that in mind: Had some scenes that were genuinely funny, and some that you just couldn't help but laugh. Surpisingly funny. I also liked that the Canadian actors were a couple(O'Hara and Levy) Good Burger and Strange Brew? Good for a laugh but not great movies. Certainly watchable. On the other side of this is Deuce Bigalow, which was funny, but also a legit good movie. As for Ready to Rumble? I seem to be on the opposite. I hate it but everyone loves it, as far as I see. And the topic? Christmas Story. Hands down.
