Robert Mugabe re-elected in Zimbabwe
CanadianGuitarist replied to edotherocket's topic in Current Events
Even for African standards of living, he's made a mess of Zimbabwe. "That's not America. That's not even Mexico!" -
Never happen. An election was held basically six months after the scandal broke. Liberals won, albeit with a minority. They're not going anywhere. Well, not at least, with Harper running the show. He shot himself in the foot by saying Martin loved child porn.

Too bad he's part of a dying breed in Canada. Elaborate. Canadian exports are up, our government has much more of a voice in the world community and patriotism is clearly at high right now. Charitable donations are also up. Please explain. It means Don Cherry isn't some pc socialist, like Canada's gov't has become. Yeah, what a terrible shame that is. Fuck open mindedness. Fuck caring for your fellow man.

Any Clerks fans here? If yes, well then: Step 59: All the chickens die! But where will we get eggs?!

It's not that we think that anyone can do it, it just seems most likely that Edge would. -
That's exactly what I was thinking.

Wrestlemania Predictions Thread

World Heavyweight Title Match Triple H © v Batista Batista, with Edge immediatly utilising his Money In The Bank title shot and taking Batista's strap. WWE Title Match John "Bradshaw" Layfield © v John Cena Cena. By default, there's no way both heels can leave with both titles. Kurt Angle v Shawn Michaels HBK. Fuck, I want Angle to win. Money in the Bank Ladder Match See above Randy Orton v The Undertaker Taker. Rey Mysterio v Eddie Guerrero Eddie. Rey turns after a handshake. Big Show v Akebono Big Show. WWE Women's Title Match Trish Stratus © v Christy Hemme Don't care. Christy, I guess. -
Are you sure it was Jericho? I vividly remember Cyrus in ECW using that one a few times, because of the dreadful Rock and Bowl show. Thrill Zone my ass. Although Roller Jam was a guilty pleasure if there ever was one.

A soldier is tried for killing the enemy
CanadianGuitarist replied to Your Paragon of Virtue's topic in Current Events
I was refering to the 1500 dead American soldiers and estimated 10,000 Iraqi civilians. Oh yes, I nearly forgot the fires set to oil pipelines, contractors hung and mutilated, construction workers beheaded, charity workers kidnapped and killed. Yep, let freedom ring! Yes, I know, I know. Iraqi insurgents did all of that. There wouldn't be all those aforementioned contractors and charity workers there if the States hadn't gone to war and destroyed the whole god damned country anyway. Hey, I've lost everything I own, I have no lower half to my body, and all my family's dead, but at least I can vote for some guy that I'm told to by the people responsible for my missing legs and deceased brothers and sisters. -
John. A MacDonald- Often called the Father of Confederation, our first Prime Minister. Served two seperate terms in office ala Grover Cleveland. Pierre Trudeau- Served as Prime Minister during one of the most trying times in our nation's history, the FLQ crisis. Will be remember most for two things: Calling martial law during the aforementioned crisis, and saying 'the state has no place in the bedrooms of the nation' Tommy Douglas- Premier of Saskatchewan during the 1940's, also led the Federal NDP until the 1970's. Founded the concept of universal healthcare as we know it. Named to be the Greatest Canadian in a CBC sponsored contest. Terry Fox- In an effort to raise money for cancer, he decided to run across Canada one day at a time. This, despite having already lost a leg to the disease! That, my friends, is heroism. Made it from St. John's, Newfoundland to Thunder Bay, Ontario before succumbing to cancer. David Suzuki- Brilliant environmentalist. One of the leading forces behind Canada's acceptance of the Kyoto Protocol. The fact that he hosts a documentary does not classify him as an actor or comedian. Lester B. Pearson- Prime Minister during the 1960's. Receieved a Nobel Peace Prize for deploying Canadian troops to peacekeep during the Suez Canal crisis. Running joke in Canada is 'Only Prime Minister named for an airport' Rene Levesque- Elected premier of Quebec during the 1970's, spearheaded the first Quebec referendum. Dr. Frederic Banting- My vote for the aforementioned Greatest Canadian contest, he developed insulin. Wayne Gretzky- As you know, the greatest hockey player who ever lived. However, I put him on this list, not for his achievments on the ice, but his achievements off it. He assembled the victorious men's ice hockey teams in Salt Lake City in 2002, and at the World Cup in 2004. What the 2002 win did for Canadian pride is comparable to the 1972 Summit Series. Don Cherry- Former coach of the Boston Bruins, deserves recognition as a Great Canadian not for his coaching success, but because he aptly embodies Canadian ideals and values: Hard work, toughness and pride, but good nature and compassion at the same time. Mike Weir: A little slanted since he's my hero and role model, but the most successful Canadian golfer. Though Mo Norman was the better ball striker, and Dave Barr and Dan Halldorson won the World Cup, Weir was the first Canadian to win a major golf tournament, as well as the first left hander to win The Masters Tournament. He's in the back of my avatar picture. You were saying?

Wrestlemania Predictions Thread

I just can't see HBK losing. I've never liked him, and being a Bret Hart mark, I hate him. And, as I often explain to my HBK mark friends, yes, he is an excellent wrestler, undoubtedly one of the 5 or 10 best wrestlers and certainly showmen of all time. I also feel Angle belongs on both those lists, and I vastly prefer his mic work. But I'm gonna say HBK wins, then has Janetty turn on him. -
It would be if there was a God. I'm overwhelmed by the irony of that expression at this moment.

That was uncalled for. His opinions are as valid as the next man's. The fact that you brought up his nationality undid the fact that you can argue better than he can. Dickhead. Maybe if the U.S had taken the Canadian compromise at the U.N seriously instead of just brushing it off, there wouldn't be the mess that we see now. -
Wrestlemania Predictions Thread
CanadianGuitarist replied to CheesalaIsGood's topic in The WWE Folder
Agreed. I also, being fairly smart, can't see HHH losing two Mania main events in a row. Exception? If Edge wins the Money In The Bank, he'll use it immediately after Batista wins the strap and is too banged up to fight, like at Wrestlemania IX or Guilty as Charged '01. But I think if Batista does win, he'll be fed Kane at the next PPV. (Unforgiven?) I'm calling for that to happen, too. -
I'm calling for at least one of these to happen: 1) Benoit or Jericho or Kane turning. They seem to all kind of be in limbo right now. I even called three weeks ago on Raw for Benoit to turn and align with Hussan. 2)Rey, not Eddie, will turn. 3) HHH will indeed pin Batista. I just can't see Trips jobbing two straight Wrestlemanias, certainly not for the title both times. 4) If (3) doesn't happen, the winner of the Money In The Bank *cough* Edge instantly pins Batista a la Wrestlemania IX with Bret, Yoko, Hogan. This was mentioned on another thread, as well. I don't see both 1 & 2 and 3 & 4 happening. Obviously, 3 and 4 both can't happen.
-
So he was face? My last post was entirely moot, then.
-
I'm calling that to. Hussan interrupts Piper's pit, Hogan interrupts Hussan. An 'impromptu' tag or four way dance follows.
-
When was this? XVIII? He was heel then, wasn't he? Let's see: XX: Heel XIX: Heel XVIII: ? XVII: Didn't main event. 2000: Heel XV: Didn't main event I could be wrong, but i don't think he ever was a face and in the main event at Wrestlemania. If you don't mean at Wrestlemania, I haven't watched wrestling (xcept for between Royal Rumble and Wrestlemania every year)since 1999.
-
Definitely. They didn't get much respect despite being a good team, actually. As for the Taker/Show team, I don't recall.
-
Well, as you know, in Canada we do it doggy style, so we can both watch the hockey game. God damn, I miss Rodney.

Who wouldn't? Unless.....it is with a girlfriend/wife? Or someone completely different? I'd probably take the baseball(well, Habs playoffs in my case) in any event. Still, it opens an interesting can of worms. To answer the topic question, I go into hibernation during Masters week. No one gets anywhere near me on Masters sunday. Girlfriends, parents, nothing gets near me. In 2002, at 1:23, I made a call to a now, suffice to say, ex girlfriend. I got her machine: "Amanda, It's me. It's about twenty after 1. Masters are on in ten minutes. Are you there? No? Well, ok. We could have talked. Fuck off until about 8 o clock, ok sweety? Love you." In hindsight, I probably could have been more tactful. She was a bitch anyway, though. Two birds with one stone, I'd say.

Yep. Night before. Saturday in Toronto, Fully Loaded was Sunday in Buffalo. Edge got the IC title in Toronto, but I thought he lost it back to JJ on Raw, not at Fully Loaded. Stop me if I'm wrong.
