Yup!

The above link may prove me wrong, but as I recall, he wasn't actively bad, just an idiot.

The Saints will make the playoffs? Sure, there's inconsistency and inexperience in the NFC South, but, as you put it... come on. It's not ridiculous, but they've got lots of hurdles to jump to get there. On the other hand, I've got an equally bold pick. AFC 1. Titans - They won't got 16-0, but you don't win ten straight by accident. They're for real. 2. Steelers - Ugly win Sunday, but not as ugly as the Ravens loss, and someone has to get in. 3. Dolphins - Easy schedule, and they embarrassed NE nine weeks ago. 4. Chargers - Call me crazy, but they've got two should-wins in the division to play. If they can take two of three from Indy, Atlanta, and Tampa, they're in great shape for a Week 17 showdown with Denver. I'm gonna gamble a bit - The Broncs have a -25 point differential, for cryin' out loud. 5. Colts - They're back. 6. Jets - Still a litle confusing (losses to SD and Oakland), but the second-highest scoring team. Take away their two big days offensively against Arizona and St. Louis and they're still averaging 24 a game. The win over New England twelve days ago was essentially a playoff game, and the Jets earned it. NFC 1. Giants - Best in the league. 2. Bucs - Draw from a hat in this division. I just think the Bucs. 3. Cards - Warner for MVP? 4. Packers - See Pick #2. 5. Panthers - Almost quietly 8-2, good net points, plenty of TD's. I haven't taken too much stock in Delhomme's awful game in Oakland two weeks ago. 6. Cowboys - Draw from a hat as well between the Boys, Skins, and Falcons. If Tony Romo comes back to form and Barber is this good, then the Boys are the best of those three.

INSUBORDINATION~! Just win... next year. The Raiders' TD punt return Sunday was their first six-pointer in 13(!) quarters.

Forty-eight fucking shots against tonight. Carey Price's 46-save effort is remarkable, but will play second fiddle to the 21 shots he was peppered with in the final frame. But good news! Robert Lang (who I can't rag on - he's on pace for about 27 or 28 goals, when I'd be happy with him getting 15-20) scored on the powerplay - that brings the team's PP rate to 14.6. Yeesh. As much as I didn't want Samsonov to score tonight, I can't get too upset - it's his first goal of the season.

The Simpsons Character Draft
CanadianGuitarist replied to CanadianGuitarist's topic in Draft Faggotry
I had a horrible day, so I'm gonna unwind for a bit. I may be on to update the board later on, but it'll more realistically be early tomorrow. -
Playing? Or starting?

The Simpsons Character Draft

This is the only picture I can find, which ruins my next pick (a la Itchy/Scratchy). I'm surprised the latter hasn't been picked yet, so I'll let him go. Mick Jagger MJ:"We've gotta start using a cheaper oatmeal" *Flying guitar breaks window* MJ: "SIMPSONNNNNNNNNN!" *shakes fist* Awesome. -
I can't even explain it, as the only games I saw during their last six were at Toronto and Ottawa (which only adds to my frustration). They looked solid from end-to-end against the Sens. They have great records against Philly, Boston, and Toronto, all of whom they were outplayed by. I have no problem with Komisarek starting, I have no problem with Price, Komisarek and Tanguay playing. That's all. Malkin, Semin, Gagne should start up front.

My good friend died last night.
CanadianGuitarist replied to Lt. Al Giardello's topic in General Chat
Yes to both. Barron has indeed wasted his life without anything from Orange Julius, where everything is good in small doses. I've probably mentioned this before, but fuck a buncha Slush Puppies. -
It brings Marvin back down to the rest of us, I bet. On the other hand, I had intended on taking a bunch of old golfers no one ever heard of in '09. I shouldn't be the biggest victim of a death pool.

Certainly not after their last five or six games, anyway.

Comments which don't warrant a thread.
CanadianGuitarist replied to Giuseppe Zangara's topic in No Holds Barred
I think Matt Young kinda looks like John Cena. I also feel badly for EMHE, though, the slurpee/icee thread was a hearty laugh. Maybe he saw things that way too. -
I did Uzi(SEA) a huge favour beating Devo(SF). I'm not done (four back with six to go), and I've got a little momentum, but this looks like another hurdle for me to jump as the season winds down.

Funny thing, I never thought of that, and it's made me do a complete 180 in the five minutes it took me to read this thread. Dibiase would have been fantastic as a heel champ had he not had Andre buy the belt two months prior. And shit, just imagine if HTM had dropped the belt to Savage - what gets the Warrior over? I'm sure he would have, in the end, but is he viewed as a legitimate challenger to Hogan 18 months later if not? I wonder what prompted that, for HTM to lie down to a guy as generally disliked backstage as Warrior.

The Simpsons Character Draft
CanadianGuitarist replied to CanadianGuitarist's topic in Draft Faggotry
Board is updated and things are sensible again. PLEASE keep on top of the PM's. Notice I've got the current draftor and the on-deck atop the master board. Refer to that as much as possible. -

No, no. Provided the PM's are kept up, the draft is pretty well running itself at this late stage. Board update is imminent. -

Anyone remember that HIMYM in which Alyson Hanigan was slap-bet commissioner, with instructions to "Take the well-being of the bet above all else?" That's me with this draft. I gladly would fuck the dog on the couch after work with a beer in each hand and a remote at my feet (someone should ask me about that sometime), but here I am, piecing together the left-over weekend mess - and I feel though I'm doing right. -
I know one foot's in the grave already, but a win against Devo gives me a a little momentum. Nail the coffin with a loss.

The Things That Anger You Thread.

As a longtime Christmas hater, egg nog is fucking delicious, even without booze. Seriously though, July? Come on. -

This is what I expect of Chocolate Sock...er, NHB. -
I know that part of me is saying this on the grounds that I wanted to see CBC's coverage of the Habs, but it was at least mildly ridiculous to have the Canucks play at 4pm at home. As long as I'm complaining about petty CBC matters, does anyone else think the production values take a huge freefall between the early and late games?

I'll win by tiebreak if Dallas wins, even though I've got Washington in the bar pools. I've gotta get these two in sync. Having to have bar picks in by Tuesday really throws everything off.

Everything looks in order from what I've seen, but I'll make it all official between now and kickoff. -

I noticed that I wasn't PM'ed. This may not be a big deal, but "I'm not as laid back as people think. Now, I'm gonna sit here and play my guitar, and you're gonna float there, and like it!" James Taylor
